Obama tangles with Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer over immigrati...

That is disrespectful and childish. In essence, you are implying that the president is a monkey and the first lady is a hedious creature from Star Wars. That is totally offensive.  (Jan 26, 2012 | post #82)

The term African American

I can most certainly respect that decision. It is a matter of personal choice and no matter what someones' choice is, it should be respected. We all look at thes same question with very different answers and outlooks. I am glad that you feel the way you do and I have great respect for you feeling this way. Take care and Be Blessed.  (Jan 22, 2012 | post #1909)

The term African American

With respect to everyones opinion. It is a personal choice to call oneself African American, American and/or Black. As I have said all along, I prefer African-American because FOR ME it allows me to connect my ancestory with where I was actually born and I will forever respect that. Now this is my personal belief and no one has to agree with it..just respect it as I will for you. Thank you.  (Jan 7, 2012 | post #1899)

Election Poll, Sept 2011 - Warner Robins, GA

I don't look at the fact that he is black. I look at the fact that he is an humble man and irregardless of the antics of the Repbulican Party and the so called Tea Party, he is doing what he can do with the problems he inherited. Everyone is so bent on him failing and doing things to make him fail and look bad, that they are allowing the economy and the American People to faulter.  (Sep 23, 2011 | post #1)

Palin: Journalists incite hatred after Arizona shootings ...

George, today is thursday, she opened her eyes for the first time on Tuesday evening, not Sunday. If the doctors were looking into her eyes, it is because they opened her eyes themselves. That does happen alot you know. I don't believe your niece said anything at all. Before Obama even made the statement, her two closest friends had already told the press. Obama wasn't even in the room when she opened her eyes. You hate this man so much for no reason that you will find anything to discredit him. I am not surprised at all because this man is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Believe me, I have nothing against you, I don't even know you. As I correspond with you, I disagree with your stance but I also respect it as well. I just firmly believe that Sarah Palin needs to stop and think before she speaks because she is constantly putting her foot in her mouth and at the expense fo someone else's tragedy or situation. President Obama only wants in this situation for everyone to remember the victims and to come together instead of bickering back and forth on a constant basis. that is not a rally but a step in the right direction. In the future, understand that this is not about you and I but about the miracle of prayer and faith. This whole situation could have been worse but it wasn't. Today they buried the nine year old victim of this senseless tragedy. I hope the person that did this pays for it in a manner befitting his crime. Be blessed.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #818)

They were clapping, hooting and whistling because the president stated that the congresswoman opened her eyes for the first time. Get it right. The way you say it on this forum makes it seem as though he was making fun of the situation and that was not it at all. Just one twist of a word can misconstrue a whole situation. It is sad to see that it made you sick to know everyone was happy to hear that piece of news. I sat and cried with happiness because I am very glad she is continuing to get better. By all accounts, she should have been dead because of where she was shot and the close proximity of the shooter. She is blessed to still be alive so get it together. It is not about the president; it is about every victim of that tragic shooting. Thank you and be blessed.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #795)

That is where you are wrong. He has done a great deal. He did more in his first 90 days in office than any other president. However, he knew going into this job with a great deal of negative vibes from people who did not want an African-American president. He knew and still knows he has an uphill battle because people refuse to give him a chance. He fights hard for the common person and yet those same people expect him to have things done yesterday and that is not realistic. He has made some mistakes and he has put his foot in his mouth a few times but he is human. Other presidents have made the same mistakes and spoken out of turn as well but no one has ever gotten the heat brought down on them like this president has. I think he will be alright. He will even have your back even though you continue to spew hatred and anger toward him. Be blessed.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #690)

I understand your reasoning about Sarah Palin but what is your reasoning behind wanting President Obama to go away. Like him or hate him, he is the president, like other presidents who we did not agree with all the time. He at least deserves that respect. He is as human as any other presidents. He has made mistakes as well but he also has got a great deal of things right. Maybe not in the way you may have wanted them to get done but he did them. I know I am off topic but your statement struck me as strange. However it is your opinion and I will respect that. Be blessed.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #686)

I stand corrected. I just watched the whole video of Sarah Palin's speech about the tragedy in Arizona. Where I stand corrected on is that she did in the beginning speak about this tragedy. However, she went on and started to spiral out of control. This was not the time for anything else but to focus on what happened in Arizona. I still believe that she is always finding a way to make it into the limelight and I do not have faith or trust in an individual who cannot hold her own and quits on her own state because she herself cannot take the heat. I believe she should have left well enough alone and this is only my opinion. It matters not to me whether anyone agrees with it or not. Thank you and be blessed.  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #647)

Instead of her speaking about her wishing the Rep. a great recovery, she once again tries to make it all about her. This from a woman who quit at being govenor because she felt as though she was talked about in a negative manner in the press. Grow up and go away lady!! PLEASE!!  (Jan 13, 2011 | post #631)

That would be saying the same about you. This is what makes the world go around. Difference of opinions and if we all thought and acted the same way it would be boring. Never be suspect of the motives of anyone who is just as passionate about their beliefs as you are. Just agree to disagree....with maturity. Thank you and God bless.  (Jan 8, 2011 | post #238)

You are most certainly entitled to your opinion and I respect that but I do not agree with it. I don't trust the Democrats or the Republicans because they all have a hidden agenda but if I had to choose, I would choose the lesser of the two evils and that would be the Democrats. Obama and the Democrats are just the same as Bush and the Republicans. Can you honestly justify our reasoning for being at war? Can you honestly say that it was alrigh to lie in order for us to go to war? As far as th foodstamps and welfare go, we have an obligation as a nation, whether it be ran by Democrats or Republicans to help our less fortunate. All I have been seeing is the Republicans helping the rich get richer by stepping on the heads of those who struggle everyday to make ends meet. I have no sympathy for anyone that does not pull their weight and expect for the country to take care of them. I do have sympathy for individuals who work two jobs and still don't have two nickels to rub together. At least the Democrats understand this and are trying to make it an even playing field out there even though we all know it will never be. There are good and bad in both parties. I am just tired of all the childish bickering and the utter notion that they are doing it all on our behalf. They all need to grow up from the president on down and get down to the business of running this country like it is supposed to be run. Thank you and be blessed.  (Jan 8, 2011 | post #220)

I am not new to topix, I just deal with it when I feel a need to. I realize that some of the people on here are just individuals wanting attention and individuals who do not think before they speak. You never heard of the "Tea Party" before Obama came along. I will however defend anyone who is berated for being a part of the Armed Forces. I take it personally when anyone that is or has been in the military is disrespected. Thanks for the heads up though.  (Jan 7, 2011 | post #134)
