Thank you for supporting my thought. I am a white female that went to a public school with mostly black kids. Our school was extremely poor. We got a pretty good education still the same. My parents were on me as well. Why I mentioned my point was because I saw it all the time. The black kids got in trouble the white kids were ignored. Simply they looked the other way. The cops in my childhood neighborhood did the same thing. If white kids got busted out late at night they were warned to get home. The black kids were thrown into the back of the squad car. Now that I am an adult I feel reasonably without doubt it happens still to this day. I am greatful for my upbringing because if it wasn't for those kids, I would have never learned at such an early age that discrimination runs rampant, and my Mother was always right. She taught me to view someone for their heart and their actions, not theit color.  (Oct 18, 2007 | post #53)
