Did a Southaven Alderman get outted?

Did Brooks' "friend" and Davis' partner pay their own way for travel, hotel, entertainment, meals, etc. or did the taxpayers pay for any part of the expenses? Brooks stated that he didn't want to testify in Jackson partly because Davis intended to embarrass him. What is there to be embarrassed about if he has done nothing wrong?  (Jun 8, 2013 | post #3)

Mayoral Debate

I suppose since Davis convinced Musselwhite to run for mayor (before Davis decided to run himself) it might explain why Musselwhite didn't want to participate in the debate with Davis.  (Jun 4, 2013 | post #5)

Mayoral Debate

Greg Davis and Coria Williams were part of the Channel 3 mayoral debate tonight. Darren Musselwhite opted out. If he knows why he wants to be mayor he should have had no problems being involved in a debate with the candidates. He must not be able to run with the big dogs so he stayed on the porch. Bad decision.  (May 23, 2013 | post #1)

"A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. He does not set out to be a leader, but becomes one by the equality of his actions and the integrity of his intent." ¬óDouglas MacArthur From Channel 3 News: "The Southaven Board of Aldermen approved all of Davis' trips and his spending without looking closely into them. They admit they asked almost no questions. Even after the Board of Alderman began growing concerned, they still approved Davis' expenses." Being a good person doesn't necessarily equate to good leadership. A leader must stand strong against injustices, lead with integrity, and take responsibility without making excuses. http://www.wbtv.co m/story/20763963/s outhaven-aldermen- testify-about-mayo r-davis-spending  (May 23, 2013 | post #3)

Southaven elections

Looks like the mayor's trial will resume in Jackson, MS Monday, May 13th. Apparently several aldermen will be there to testify even though one of them is trying to get out of it. Should make for interesting news coverage this week. http://wreg.com/20 13/05/02/southaven -mayor-and-alderma n-battle-over-depo sition/  (May 11, 2013 | post #6)

Southaven elections

George Payne won his ward. Ronnie Hale is in a runoff. William Brooks is in a runoff. I suppose it is possible that three board members could be returning to their posts in July after the runoff election May 21st and general election June 4th.  (May 10, 2013 | post #2)

Re-electing Southaven Elected Officials

http://www.wmctv.c om/story/20763963/ southaven-aldermen -testify-about-may or-davis-spending "The Southaven Board of Aldermen approved all of Davis' trips and his spending without looking closely into them. "The bottom line, according to testimony, is that the aldermen never appeared to be concerned enough to check out what Davis said, but instead continued approving expenses even after the state investigation began." Every last single one of them continued approving even after the investigation began. They want us to re-elect them to continue to serve who - the citizens or themselves?  (Apr 29, 2013 | post #7)

It wouldn't surprise me to see most of them get re-elected. People seem to be buying the whole whistle blowing stories. However, the city doesn't need rubber stamp approving politicians.  (Apr 26, 2013 | post #4)

Re-electing Southaven Elected Officials

Do any of the current Southaven elected officials (such as aldermen) have a reasonable chance at being re-elected in the upcoming election? If so, who do you think has a chance and why?  (Feb 3, 2013 | post #1)

Southaven Mayor

What are the chances of any of the current incumbents winning re-election as alderman? Are people really going to put any of them back in office? Apparently several of them think they are re-electable given that they have filed to run again.  (Jan 20, 2013 | post #191)

"A USC study of pathological liars shows evidence of structural differences in the area of the brain that enables most people to feel remorse. Pathological liars can¬ít always tell truth from falsehood and contradict themselves in an interview. They are manipulative and they admit they prey on people. They are very brazen in terms of their manner, but very cool when talking about this. Pathological liars have a surplus of white (brain) matter, the study found, and a deficit of gray matter. That means they have more tools to lie coupled with fewer moral restraints than normal people." Is it possible that this could be treated at a medical facility in a month's time span?  (Feb 17, 2012 | post #155)
