Thank you for the link. I will read it now and discuss later.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83747)

I took your suggestion and did a little research into it. The information varied according to which website you are looking at. One did say, however, that opium was used for amputations and diarrhea. I had a quick thought as to how today's pharmaceutical companies advertise their newest drug and the side effects are alarming.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83746)

You are a minister? Your last sentence cannot come from a true spiritual advisor. My pastor would not say such crude things. What church do you pastor and you do not have to say the exact church.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83740)

Why does someone post a question directly to that particular poster and someone else answers it? I have noticed this on several occasions. A question is asked and there is one who consistently answers for them. Don't you find this aggravating?  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83739)

Would you please bring those posts forward? I would like to look at them as I am interested in seeing what has been said about the previous popes. I am sure Catholics on board would also like to see them.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83710)

Garden vandal was on wheels

I believe the four wheeler damage occurred on Whitson Chapel road where there was a beautiful crop of soybeans flourishing. I don't know how to safeguard your garden from thieves and vandals without sitting up all day and all night. If someone wanted something from my garden I wish they would just ask and I would gladly share. Sadly I don't think this is what some want.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #2)

When investigating my family tree on a genealogy website, I was amazed to see all kinds of strange information taken many years ago on census reports. Some of the questions were quite personal. In addition, do you remember a long time ago how party lines worked? Not only did the nosey neighbor listen in on your conversations, but anyone with a few tools and know-how could climb the pole and listen to you as well.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83699)

Dunlapian, I must say it is impressive that you are honest about your service. There was a lot of drugs used and many would not have had the fortitude to open up about it. During the Civil War a lot of heroin as well as opium were used. Numbing the effects of war on soldiers is obviously nothing new.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83696)

I think this Is a fair statement. The funny money known as food stamps long ago were in a coupon booklet and were used like cash. It is true that gum was purchased and the balance e was given as cash. This method was popular with using children to make these transactions and give The cash to their parents. The system will never be fraud-proof.  (Jun 14, 2013 | post #83692)

I read this with great interest. I've worked in NICU for many years. Not only do we take care of very sick newborns, we also deal with their families. I have seen a lot of family dynamics, but nothing is more healing and therapeutic when all are concerned for the little ones. When you see a tiny human struggling to be alive, nothing and I mean nothing, else matters. I'm also a mother, I don't know if you are, but we are more in tune in what's paramount when a crisis happens and then there those who are not.  (May 1, 2013 | post #77898)

obama crimnally charged treson by military

It's ENTITLEMENTS! When someone spells "loser" as "looser" they're incapable of spelling entitlements. Don't you have Spellcheck or can't you find it?  (Nov 10, 2012 | post #17)
