Columbus State might pay bonuses | The Columbus Dispatch

This could not be more wrong. Bonuses for public sector employees is as logical as government funded agencies hiring lobbyists to lobby state legislatures and Congress for the benefit of publicly funded government agencies. Say what?!  (Jul 22, 2011 | post #4)

NFL owners OK pact; players balk | The Columbus Dispatch

Hope they fail to reach agreement resulting in better TV ... or more and better quality family time ... and perhaps fewer sports prima donnas. Such stories belong on page 3 or 5 of sports section.  (Jul 22, 2011 | post #2)

Income-tax hike urged in Lancaster | The Columbus Dispatch

Regularly driving in county seats contiguous to Franklin County, Lancaster's streets arguably are the worst. Rebuilding, resurfacing, refinishing Lancaster streets must be the city's number one objective. Creating and sustaining good private sector jobs would be good, too.  (Jul 20, 2011 | post #4)

That yet another likely just got away with murder is a miscarriage of justice, it's rare, however, for knee-jerk reaction legislation to be good.  (Jul 18, 2011 | post #30)

GOP attacking environmental regulations | The Columbus Di...

Do not Republicans breath from the same source of air as the rest of us? Do not Republicans also need, want and enjoy good, clean, safe water? How about safe, efficient, functional, odorless sanitation systems? Do not Republicans also have need to dispose of garbage and other trash? Why do Republicans fight against all of these quality of life and standard of living issues? I just don't get it.  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #6)

Count on SB 5 being on ballot | The Columbus Dispatch

Surely the public sector went too far, what with very generous fringe benefits, especially pensions, vacations & sick time along with reasonably good salaries/wages often superior to comparable jobs in the private secotr. SB 5 goes too far the other way.  (Jul 17, 2011 | post #200)

The final mission | The Columbus Dispatch

Senator Glenn is right. In my view America made a grave error when we failed to plan ahead with the next generation space transport. Furthermore, it’s egregious and down right embarrassing that our great country is dependent on and is handsomely paying Russia, or any other country, to shuttle our astronauts to and from the ‘International’ Space Station and perhaps beyond. I'm terribly disappointed.  (Jul 8, 2011 | post #7)

Ohio should have texting ban, report says | The Columbus ...

We can mandate common sense via legislation? With Ohio's current legislature a bill to ban texting must include the driver's right to have a loaded gun in hand. Isn't an anti-texting bill akin to signs around public schools: "You're entering a gun and drug free zone"?  (Jul 7, 2011 | post #18)
