Adair Man's Vinyl Record Collection Keeps Growing

The highest quality digital techniques, still, can not match the richness, depth, and faithful sound reproduction of vinyl (a trained ear can always tell). If only they weren't so fragile (and bulky!) I have crates of records that weigh 100lbs each! (A little difficult to bring to a party...)  (Oct 10, 2009 | post #2)

Governor Signs 10 Commandments Bill

Nicky is an OG (an original gangster), there is no gang member anywhere that does not respect that title. The Mau Mau's were considered to be THE most violent and feared gang in New York at that time, and it was Nicky leading them and earning that rep every day. Like a modern gangmember today, he had no second thoughts about comitting murder. If you think Nicky or his gang were boy scouts, you're sadly mistaken, people that live that kind of life, have not changed much in the history of mankind. What is noteable, is that gangs actually do recognize and listen to what Nicky, and people like him, have to say (because they're for real). He has successfully ministered to hardcore gangmembers for many years, so if you still want to remain "unconvinced ", that's your problem.  (Aug 22, 2009 | post #913)

Swine Flu Cases Confirmed At Oklahoma State University In...

Like the so called asian "bird flu" (that infected chickens), it is a known and adaptable virus, that will easily mutate and infect humans. So, when it is first identified in an animal population, those animals are destroyed to prevent an outbreak among humans (especially when the expected symptoms will be severe).  (Aug 18, 2009 | post #14)

Tulsa Zoo's Polar Bear Dies

I believe the proper way to "recycle " a bear is to have it's meat prepared for consumption, and it's hide and other parts made use of. Native peoples see using an animal, in this way, as the best way to honor it.  (Aug 18, 2009 | post #37)

The movie version of "cross & switchblade" is pretty good too. Although, if you've ever seen the "real" Nicky Cruz, compared to pretty boy Eric Estrada (who played the part of Nicky for the movie), you know that he looks like he could eat Eric's arms n legs for breakfast. This man, has come "a looong way". Again, do you want to meet Nicky the preacher, or Nicky "the-knife ", in a dark alley?  (Aug 17, 2009 | post #882)

Oh ye of little faith. Ok, go purchase a copy of "the cross and the switchblade". Its the story of a street preacher named David Wilkerson, and how his teachings changed a great many New York Gang members, including a young gang leader named Nicky Cruz (a latino, by the way), who is now a preacher himself. Everyone, is looking for what God is giving! They just have to know the message and the messengers are for real. That is what seperates a disciple of the Christ, from all the christian "posers" , you've ever had the misfortune to meet.  (Aug 17, 2009 | post #881)

Tulsa Mayor Candidate Wants Creationism Exhibit At Zoo

Not mentioned in the Pentatuch??? You need to go back and read Genesis (the very "1st" book of "Hebrew" scripture). Sodom/Gomorrah, is mentioned as early as Gen 13., By Gen 18, you have 2 angels arriving at the city of "Sodom", and the militant inhabitants of the city, nearly ready to break down Job's door, demanding that he send out the two visitors (Gods own angels!!!) "...so that we may 'know' them"... (yes, "know" them in the biblical, or "sexual" sense)! Job, offers his own daughters up, to protect the angels (they didn't need it at all...). The 2 angels, immediately proceed to strike the entire inhabitants of Sodom completely blind! Afterwards, God destroys Sodom/Gomorrah for obvious (to even a casual reader) the afore described, widescale, practice of homosexuality. Yes, the hebrew for "consecrated " (or "holy"), literally means "set apart" (I would say those people were pretty much "set apart" for their practices...). But, no matter how you might try to (re) interpret the nuances, of translation in the original hebrew, you can NEVER escape, the original intention and meaning of the original passage (in context). After all, the inhabitants of the sister cities of Sodom/Gomorrah were divinely singled out, for punishment, and destroyed! No one is currently trying to dispute the hebrew translation of "...He then rained brimstone and fire on those cities"... (context is everything).  (Aug 17, 2009 | post #555)

Governor Signs 10 Commandments Bill

As long as you're going to spout scriptures for your own purposes, here's a few for you: 6:1 Now these [are] the commandments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do [them] in the lands where you go. 6:7 And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shalt talk of them when thou sit in thine house, and when thou walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 6:8 And you shall [Write them down, and] tie them around your wrist, and wear them as headbands as a reminder. 6:9 And you shall write them upon the posts of your HOUSE, and upon the GATES. WOW! It seems like GOD, kinda wants us to display those silly commandments everywhere (for those of us with short attention spans, probably). Why? Isn't that the question? It's because there are kids in south L.A. who don't understand that it's "wrong" (yes, wrong), to kill, rape, and steal from you. God didn't give us "advice" (His "outdated ", "backwards " commandments...) just to show off, He did it for 1 reason, and 1 reason only, to help "YOU" to live alongside other people, in peace and happiness, without destroying each other (which is our basic nature to do). With His commandments (devine "advice" ), He created a "glue" that will work to hold society together. Ask yourself this, if you accepted the 10 commanments, "philosophica lly"..., is that so far, "off-base "? Is that not, what you would want people around you to believe in, and put into practice? Or, would you prefer a world where, say, gang members (acting out the "tenents " of their "belief systems") be allowed to to kill, rape, distribute drugs, run prostitution, control neighborhoods, and steal from you..., instead of us all doing the "right" thing? Remember, the battle is for the human psyche, and we need all the help we can get! What is the "right" thing to do if you have never been told what "that" might be? Remember, Jesus taught unconditional LOVE, you don't usually try to get ahead of, compete with, or "wack" people, if you have been taught to love them. It sounds workable to me. If you still disagree, I would like to hear your (worldwide scale) plan for changing the human heart..., because "humanism ", isn't working!  (Aug 17, 2009 | post #876)

Protest and demonstration are also a valid forms of speech, no? Liberals always have claimed they are, but, it's suddenly "wrong" if conservatives engage in the same thing? It's been said, "If you can't take the heat, leave the kitchen..."  (Aug 8, 2009 | post #28)

Big if..., looking less likely all the time (I feel a 1 term president coming down). The longer the socialiberaleft "freak parade" continues, the more those all-important "popularity ratings" continue to sink among us average, common, everyday people (known to the liberals as the taxably "rich" middlecla$$).  (Aug 8, 2009 | post #27)
