Another Tractor-Trailer Overturns Saturday

Not to get completely off the topic on the incident posted. So taking that you paid attention to the video, you happen to notice that the car passed the truck in a CURVE with a double SOLID YELLOW line and then did not have enough safe distance when he finally passed the truck to come back over and then made a left turn to top it off. C'mon, get real. I think DMV needs to be more strict when handing out a license. Right now it is a hand out. You take a test for a permit, then in two weeks after passing a driving test on an empty road and parallel parking on a closed course you can now become a licensed driver. Too easy if you ask me. Then you have to wonder about the other 20% that don't care and never had a drivers license to begin with, just buy a car and then drive until he/she is caught. I think it should take at least a minimum of one year with at least 180 hours of supervised driving and awareness to be able to get on the road.  (Sep 1, 2007 | post #31)

Gordon suspended for Pocono race

I agree with your points, but huge fines are nothing. I remember Rusty Wallace paying a $2000 fine for an infraction and he joked about it by paying in pennies. Had a Brinks truck loaded down with Copper. They should hit them where it hurts and pull the NASCAR Drivers License for several races. Then once the sponsor leaves cause they cant profit from him, then what does he have?  (Aug 6, 2007 | post #14)

2 Female Corrections Officer Arrested for Sexual Misconduct

As a former Supervisor for SCDC, these is the steps before they have a case against an employee: 1. Inmate could not get anymore from an employee, so he plays a blackmail game. That fails. 2. The inmate either tells an officer on post or a counselor. That officer reports it to supervisor. 3. The supervisor calls the inmate in the office and ask him about it. 4. The inmate gives a statement. That statement is given to either the warden or major. Which is given to the Investigator. 5. The SCDC Investigator checks up on it and any suspicious activities. 6. He then finds evidence and turns it over to SLED. 7. SLED will slip in an undercover inmate if need be and start investigating the employee. Once they have finished, they will have enough evidence for an arrest and most likely call that employee in and chitchat. Majority of the time, the employee will fess up to the illegal activities and just leave with a voluntary resignation. 8. Employee refuses to resign and the usual yadda yadda, well that already have the warrant which was signed by a judge who has seen the evidence to sign the warrant. 9. They then make the arrest.  (Aug 4, 2007 | post #20)
