Who/What is to blame for High Gas Prices?
Let's see what everyone thinks. (Saturday | post #1)
Do you really TRUST white folks? WHY? WHY? WHY?
No black people talk sh*t or call me the devil or say anything even close to all the racist stuff they say to me on here in real life either. just something to think about. (Jun 4, 2008 | post #55)
http://www.youtube .com/watch?v=TWigz BClEk8 Do any of you think this is appropriate? Do you feel confident voting for a man who would have attended this service if he weren't running for president? (May 30, 2008 | post #1)
How Much Should MINIMUM WAGE BE!!!!!!!!!
Maybe they are getting more than money out of the job, like experience. (May 30, 2008 | post #52)
How Much Should MINIMUM WAGE BE!!!!!!!!!
$0.00/hour-There should not be a minimum wage. If someone will work for $2.00/hr, you should be able to pay them $2.00/hr (May 30, 2008 | post #51)
The Nature of The Threat (Caucasians)
You said we need to prepare. That's warning us, but whatever. DevilBody, if we really wanted to kill you, you would already be dead. What would be stopping us? (May 30, 2008 | post #150)
But remember, though there is stregnth in #s, groups are also easily manipulated and misled. Dont underestimate the individual. (May 30, 2008 | post #59)
The Nature of The Threat (Caucasians)
You must deep down really love white people. If you hated us why would you warn us about this if it were true? Seriously though, you're such a loser DevilBody. "your fathers killed them so you could go to college and get high and have orgies then become our judges and Presidents"? Are you f-ing serious. Bend over and pull out whatever's stuck so far up you a$$. (May 30, 2008 | post #136)
I did misinterpret parts of your post. I think I understand what you mean by saying that this isn't about money, you don't mean for this to be about materialism, fancy cars, diamond rings, etc, you want it to be about building a foundation. However you cant ignore the fact that the only means to facilitate any type of foundation building in a capitalist system is with $$$. You can't collective make an impact on very many issues without the financial resources to do so, unless you can produce majority votes in elections. Even then, if a group could collectively provide for a majority of votes on an issue in theory, such as whites theoretically could in the US, it is still very unlikely that you will make any real changes without financial resources, bc we all know even within large collective stereotyped groups, there still exists extreme differences of opinion and only large catastrophes such as 911 have ever persuaded people to put their individual differences aside. Even within the white population, which is the largest racial group in the US, to decide an election, over 90% of whites would have to get behind the same issue, which is very unlikely. So a collective movement that doesn't have the numbers to ever decide elections needs to be backed by financial resources and lobbyists or it can really make no change in America. I guess my point sort of boils down to: don't forget how important money is to every movement. It cannot be ignored, especially when you group is a minority. Maybe I'm still not getting your point, but I think I'm following you. (May 30, 2008 | post #56)
Yeah, I agree you don't have to start a business. I was just sticking to the topic of Epictetus, about doing independent things and misunderstood your point. I thought you were presenting your idea about using black owned businesses as a way to become secure and successful. Of course starting a business isn't the only way to reach these goals. I do think however for people who feel they cant get ahead, or feel that they aren't qualified to get good salary jobs with a good retirement, starting a business is a great option. Your completely right, using companies that invest money back into your community is a very wise thing to do and can really help strengthen your community. (May 30, 2008 | post #55)
Exactly, it's not rocket science. start a business. Like you said putting your money in a black owned bank doesnt help you, it helps the other black guy who owns the bank get rich. He couldn't care less if the money in his bank is white or black as long as it's in his bank. (May 29, 2008 | post #49)
You make a lot of good points in that. In my opinion, one of the reasons yall aren't doing that stuff on the scale you are talking about may be that many black people, as well as many white people, have been indoctrinated to say things like "WE need to figure out how to make money off land" which makes you subconsciously rely on the willingness of others to participate in your idea, and stops you from taking individual action. When I wanted to learn about how to make money off land, which I do, I went to amazon and other book stores and bought and read books about how to do it. (People like WLC(except white) said to me, "you wont be able to make $$, I never have, so you cant, it's controlled, you'll be locked out by the elite running the system", etc, etc.) For example, forclosures are super hot right now, and all the stuff about them is public information and basically free(and no WLC, the white man cant keep you from making money in forclosures) You can buy very discounted land this way. Don't wait for everyone else to get on board. Go make your money and then tell people how easy it is and what to do, people will come around when they see that others like them have done it and they finally get tired of seeing everyone but themselves achieve. Forget everybody else, go get yours and lead by example. Don't fall for this WLC bs, what are five million people going to do with $260mil a year? Buy everybody a DVD? Give me a break, populist bs doesn't work. A national saving bank. lol. Start a business. (May 29, 2008 | post #48)
