Do you like or hate Mexico?

Yeah, Sirius, there are dangers in Mexico. For more than 30 years, Juarez has been deadly for young Mexican women in a dreadful exhibition of microcultural misogyny. The current permutations of the borderline supply/demand tango have made certain corridors dangerous for even a limited number of innocent bystanders. But do you really feel safer in Compton than you do in Monterrey? I'm no more intimidated by a bus change in Acapulco than I am on in South San. And I feel far safer roaming the market in Pochutla than I would the ones in Alexandria or Belize City. The numbers, the statistics back me up.  (Mar 31, 2013 | post #4)

And what institution deserves hate-filled xenophobes like you? Surely the good people deserve freedom from association with the evil you haters spew.  (Mar 31, 2013 | post #2)

Do you like or hate Mexico?

I love Mexico for its gorgeous mountain vistas; I love the hidden jewels on all coasts, the often secluded beaches; the crystal waters of the Caribbean; the wild waves of the Pacific; the coral jungles in the Gulf. I love Mexico for the kindness and generosity of its people. I love the beauty of the women of Mexico in their infinite variety. While I'll never be interested in nor able to consume a kg of tortillas every day, I am quite fond of the other elements of the cuisine. Rollo the pescado rellanado de mariscos, for example. I've traveled it extensively since the early '70's.  (Mar 31, 2013 | post #2)

Mother, Daughter Admit to Laundering Drug Money

So, if we can tie the Zetas to the horses whose death caused the cancellation of Dustin Hoffman's "Lucky" series, maybe we can get all the PETA folks to stop smoking Mexican schwag and stick to good domestic Medipot?  (Mar 31, 2013 | post #2)

Smuggling Tunnel Found Near US Border

Another advocate of premeditated murder. Please dont try to tar all Americans with your loathsome immorality. I bet your mama must be proud.  (Dec 29, 2012 | post #7)

Smuggling Tunnel Found Near US Border

Some of us actually DO spend time in other countries enjoying different cultures. It makes it much easier to smell out xenophobes and racists so deluded they cannot recognize themselves  (Dec 29, 2012 | post #5)

What makes illegal aliens from Mexico any different from ...

The largest seizure of weapons, ammo, and bombs made since 9-11 was from a fundamentalist "christian " group in Tyler, Texas. If you're looking for terrorists, there's no shortage of them on this website. Anyone advocating violence against others is a terrorist, especially if the violence is based on race, ethnicity, or, like the Taliban, misogyny. I can't say that someone who uses a handle like "Bomb Mexico" is one whit morally superior to a Taliban mullah advocating the murder of Islamic schoolgirls. Those of good spirit need to ostracize all racists and misogynists. They should be very unwelcome in polite society.  (Dec 16, 2012 | post #17)

Protesters Hope to Draw Attention to Mexico

Senseless violence abounds in the United States; some of the worst was in Chicago, New York, Kansas City during Prohibition and only lessened when the amendment was repealed. Is it any wonder that cannabis prohibition has engendered similar violence along La Frontera? The corruption amongst the Prohibition officers and agents from the IRS is legendary. Check out the lifestyles of border law enforcement agents today - both sides of the border - and check and see if the lifestyles match the legal salaries. Then take the unlimited evil of asset forfeiture and see how many corrupt communities in border states are supporting themselves on the blood and tears of citizens who have lost everything to corrupt politicians. How much money do you think we spend to support private prisons, like those of Corrections Corporation of America and Wackenhut, just to keep non-violent drug offenders working as slave labor for their owners? Just end prohibition and move that law enforcement money and other resources to bottling up the violent.  (Dec 16, 2012 | post #3)

Missing in Mexico

Jerk in Chief"? Do you mean Eric cantor, John Boehner, or Mitch "Turtleman " McConnel? Michelle Bachman is too valuable as comic relief, but surely you must mean those who have spent the last two years blocking every jobs bill and economic recovery bill so desparately needed by OUR country. Or maybe you mean John Roberts, Chief Justice of a Supreme Court which has determined that corporations are entitled to every right that you are but immune from punishment when they commit crimes. And that unlimited bribery is legal for corporations, as enshrined by the "Citizens United" decision.Or maybe you want to be more specific. I suspect that you're referring to one of the damned few politicians in Washington trying to help poor and middle-class folks like you and me.  (Nov 30, 2012 | post #4)

Mexican man pleads guilty to agent bribery attempt

Concerned, my great-great grandparents were illegal aliens to Texas in the 1830's. They illegally migrated from Tennessee to the Texas sector of Chihuahua. The border followed them a few years later. I am a bureaucrat, sworn to uphold the Constitution against all enemies, domestic or foreign. But as usual, the greatest threats are internal, bu would-be totalitarians like Grover Nordquist, Wayme LaPierre, Richard Reed, Rick Perry, and those sons of a John Birch founder, the Koch brothers. As a young man, I watched small-town Central Texas policemen shake a wet bar in a dry county down for cash. I've had a local prosecutor make excuses for the cops to my face. Here in the states, the corruption is just covered up better - and is far more expensive. I have lived in Mexico several times. I will move back on retirement. And I'd rather make occasional gifts to local Mexican police than to continue paying inflated prices to companies like Exxon-Mobile so they can continue to bribe "scientists " to fabricate anti-global warming "research ", or corporations like ADM and Monsanto to bribe Congress for their Corporate Welfare. At least in the third world, I know where my cash is going.  (Nov 12, 2012 | post #17)

Mexican man pleads guilty to agent bribery attempt

Aw Concerned, I'll give it to you that most of the bribery in the US is wholesale rather than retail - corporations bribing politicians with campaign contributions to stack the deck on legislation, for example. But if you don't think that there's plenty of retail corruption as well, then you're probably stupid enough to believe in a six-thousand-year-old Earth, as well. Or that the 37th rated healthcare system is the best in the world even for the poor. Take your blinders off and realize what a xenophobic racist you have become.  (Nov 7, 2012 | post #6)

Mexico: Mayan ball court was celestial 'marker'

Are you really so filled with hate that when some history about an incredible archaeological site is revealed, you still need to fire off a cheap shot? As easy to ask, what with the Doric Oracles, why wasn't Rome able to survive? Or with their astronomical sites like Stonehenge, why isn't Druidism the dominant religion of England? When science is applied to engineering or meteorology, or agriculture, civilization is advanced. When science is perverted to religious superstitions, you can count on the demise of said civilization. FAITH NUST BE SUBLIMATED TO REASON! Otherwise, progress is doomed and you haters win...nothing.  (Oct 7, 2012 | post #4)

Why do Mexicans like Puppetmaster lie about military serv...

Jennifer, you're looking for "they're ", a contraction of "they are", rather than the third person plural possessive "their". A poor choice of words when criticizing the intelligence of others, eh?  (Jun 23, 2012 | post #6)

Why do Mexicans like Puppetmaster lie about military serv...

Pity the poor haters, who have no time to do research. The percentage of Hispanics in the military is higher than their percentage in the civilian world. Since those who serve get consideration regarding immigration, many of those serving are not legal immigrants. While you are telling your racist lies, they are serving to protect you, me, and the rest of the country. Bomber, why don't you visit your urologist or your shrink? Maybe they'd help you feel better about your inadequacies and you wouldn't have to try to put down your betters to make yourself seem - well, normal?  (Jun 23, 2012 | post #5)

Mexican authorities hunting for 8 Cuban 'illegal...

This is news? Immigration dries up when jobs dry up/ Jobs dry upif sanctions are applied to employers. Biggest employers of undocumented workers? Tyson Chicken. Perry Homes of Houston. Pilgrims Pride. Note that all are involved in the unlimited political bribery which is the Citizens United decision of the Supreme Court. All big Republican contributors. How far do you have to follow the money? How long do you play Red Team/Blue Team before you realize you're being taken by the worst of two criminal cartels? as Jesse Ventura said yesterday, there can be no reform as long as gang names and gang symbols appear on the ballot, meaning, of course, Democrat and Republican.  (Jun 12, 2012 | post #6)
