Best Cell Phone Service Provider

I have Verizon and my co workers have att, they use my phone at least once a week because they don't have service. I have service just about everywhere I go. I love it and will never go back to att.  (Sep 17, 2012 | post #3)

land values

Depends on how much land it is, what kind of access it has, how much water it has on it, what kind of timber is in the small amount of woods. Anywhere from $500 to $2500 would be possible.  (Sep 7, 2012 | post #3)

Gun Laws - Asheville, NC

That is a very interesting take on my and other gun owners in this country. I am going to assume that you weren't raised anywhere near guns so therefore are posting about a topic that you are not well versed in. That is fine, I am certainly not a criminally insane person, and have never been a menace to society. Is a Remington AR-15 capable of being turned into a fully automatic rifle? Yes, but only by someone with a working knowledge of firearms and the correct tools. Did the person who did the shooting convert his? I haven't heard anything mentioned anywhere that said that. Are there a multitude of other non assault weapons capable of being converted to fully automatic? Short answer: Yes. There will ALWAYS be mentally deranged people in this country and in EVERY country in the world. They will always find a way to kill other people. More laws controlling guns will do nothing to stop any of this!!! There are laws against both carrying a weapon into a movie theater and killing people but they didn't seem to stop anything. There are laws saying you can't drink and drive, yet more people are killed by drunk drivers than gun in the US every year. There are laws saying drugs are illegal, yet there is a rampant drug abuse problem almost anywhere you choose to look. I just have a problem with people looking at the problem and instantly blaming the inanimate object instead of the person behind it. If that shooter in either place would have wanted pure death, he could have killed more people with 1 shot from a single shot shotgun than he did with his AR-15. He could have certainly killed more people if he has simply detonated one of the many bombs found in his home than any gun could have.  (Aug 6, 2012 | post #24)

When you think Assault Rifle, you think black M16 looking rifle with a big magazine hanging out the bottom don't you? The rifle used in the Colorado shooting was a rifle that fit that description, but, it was not a fully automatic rifle, it was a semi auto rifle firing a .223 round. You can get a semi auto rifle that looks NOTHING like an assault rifle that is MUCH more powerful. Blaming the "Assault Rifle" for killing all those people is no different than blaming spoons for making America have an obesity problem! Why is it that American's can't just take the responsibility for their actions and quit trying to find an inanimate object to blame?  (Aug 4, 2012 | post #22)

I am not arguing your last sentence but to put it in context I would like to know how many officers were killed or seriously wounded with "assault Weapons" when the Brady Ban was still in effect? I highly doubt there was much difference because the ban didn't actually "ban" any guns, it simply banned the production of magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds.  (Jul 24, 2012 | post #5)

you can't fix irresponsible people! I would have to ask in both instances that you mentioned, where was a responsible person? Guns can't accidently go off if they aren't loaded. The people who don't unload their guns before they start cleaning and the ones that leave loaded guns laying in the yard for kids to find are the ones to blame, not the gun. If guns kill people than spoons made Rosie Odonnel fat. I grew up with guns in the house, and they were usually loaded but my sister and I knew what would happen if we touched a gun with supervision. The guns were all always put away in a locked cabinet if we had friends coming over because not everyone teaches their kids gun safety. If we as as society weren't so scared of guns and we could teach gun safety at school where all kids would be able to learn the truth about guns and how to safely handle one if they ever come in contact with one, I believe there would be fewer gun accidents. You have to teach people to respect guns just like you have to teach people to respect cars.  (Jul 24, 2012 | post #3)

Top 10 reasons to Dislike MItt Romney

I think this is something that both side should be able to agree with! I hate the mudslinging that comes from BOTH parties. It is merely a diversion to stay away from real debates that MIGHT actually let the candidates discuss their views on REAL issues!  (Jul 22, 2012 | post #27)

Top 10 reasons to Dislike MItt Romney

I don't see how anyone can be in support of Obama. If Mickey Mouse was running against him, I would support the mouse. All we have gotten in the last 4 years is WAY more debt and FORCED to purchase a service! When will the American people wake up and realize that a Government powerful enough to provide everything that you need is also powerful enough to take it away? Our freedoms are steadily eroding and people are just standing there and watching saying, oh, that doesn't effect me so it will be ok! Wake up people! Another 4 years of this goob and we won't be on Topix, or any other sight that allows us to have Freedom of Speech. You can't take money from the people willing to work and give it to the people who aren't! You certainly can't do it and expect the people who are working to keep working! When Obama was elected, he promised Hope and Change. Now, 4 years later, I am out of Hope and all I have left is Change. I guess that is what he meant.  (Jul 21, 2012 | post #20)

I would assume it went under because their food was WAY overpriced for the servings you got! I don't think I have ever felt as ripped off as I did the only time I ever ate there.  (Jul 13, 2012 | post #15)

Obama really is muslum

Back to the default liberal answer. It was Bush's fault! I didn't get my way! I am going to lay in the floor and kick and scream until I get my way! Did I mention that it was someone else at fault? Obama has accomplished none of what he promised 4 years ago. He has been 4 years of disaster and our hope is now gone and all we have left is change.  (Jul 8, 2012 | post #25)

city-county burn ban

The fine not be much but people need to realize that if your fireworks start a fire and it can be proved that you shot the fireworks (neighbors all say they saw you shooting fireworks) you will be help responsible for the suppression costs and damages. The parents of 2 pre teen boys were held liable a few years ago for a fire they started in Georgia that ended burning for several weeks and they were found liable for over 25 million dollars in suppression and damages. It doesn't take much of a fire fore suppression costs to quickly go into the thousands of dollars. If it happens to be on Forest Service property you can bet it will be at least 10k for even a small fire.  (Jun 30, 2012 | post #23)
