Kuerten Wins at Brazil Open

Let's hope that we will be able to see guga beyond the first week of the french open, but as he himself said that's gonna b complicated...n extremely difficult. But who knows it might just happen......Borg won d french open 6 times, but guga has got a hip injury that wont let up..so i guess it's almost imposssible......i believe that guga would have won it at least another three times had he not had a chronice hip injury.....  (Mar 19, 2008 | post #2)

What wuld guga be like if he had not had his injury to content with. Where wuld he be ranked right now? Wuld he be challenging for the number 1 ranking had he not mad his injury. My gut instinct tells me that he wuld still right up there with the very best of the best tennis player?  (Feb 25, 2008 | post #6)

It was sad to know that kuerten did not make it past the first round in the brasilian open. I'm sure he will do better in the next tournament.  (Feb 19, 2008 | post #5)

Even when guga does finally calls it quits, i'm sure he would look back and contemplate the success that he had when he was the no.1 player in the year 2000. The first south american to achieve that feat since the beginning of the computer rankings.....n nobody can take that away from him............HE PROVE TO HOMSELF THAT HE HAD THE TALENT, SKILL N CHARACTER TO BE THE BEST THAT HE CAN.............  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #4)

Maybe after guga leaves, another guga will appear from another generation to take his place to continue his legacy in the coming years. Hope guga will inspire someone to take over his place when the time comes......  (Jan 29, 2008 | post #3)

kuerten farewll season

Last i heard that guga will be making his farewell appearance on d tour at the french open. This will be his swansong event.I sincerely hope that he will go very far in this tournament even as far as winning....but that's a little bit complicating as guga himself said, but i wish he would win the tournament as that would be a fitting farewll to (in my opinion one of the greatest tennis players to have ever graced d game of tennis) good luck to Guga n may he succeed at whatever he does with life after tennis.  (Jan 23, 2008 | post #2)

I think it is a shame that guga plans to make 2008 his final season. He was to me the best clay court player to have competed at hte highest level since borg. We (guga's fans) will miss his "charismatic n jovial" presence n there will never ever be another "guga", (ever) to come n play n compete with such will power, sublime skills, grace, competitiveness, n not to mention sheer happiness and gut instincts......at such a high level of pure tennis continously during his heydays..........  (Jan 10, 2008 | post #1)

Kuerten happy with his progress

kuerten has got every chance to get back at the top of his game should he feel confident of his ability. if this happens i believe that he will be able to compete at the very top level for at least another 6 years n win another 3 french open titles n probably another 1 or 2 other major grand slams in the process as well.......never give up guga......  (Sep 6, 2007 | post #1)

Kuerten's plans

Where is guga right now. Last i heard he withdrew from the french open due to his fatigue. I read that his come back is almost complete n that he played in more tournaments this past 6-7 months than he played over the last couple of years...So keep trying guga as we expect you to complete you comeback anytime soon. I believe that you have in you to win at least two more french open titles if n when your comeback is complete...Never give up.....  (Jul 29, 2007 | post #4)

Kuerten decides not to play French Open

If Jimmy Connors can reach the semifinals of the US Open at the age of 39, i don't see why "Guga" can't win another couple of Rolland Garros titles within the next three years. Anything can happen if you set your mind to it. "Guga was the best during his heydays, and if he can completely recover from his hip injury he will be back at his best.......I'm confident in his comeback n we "guga" fans have been waiting a long time for this........We can wait a little longer for his comeback to be complete. In the meantime keep workin "guga".  (May 22, 2007 | post #1)

Guga Will Miss French Open

Without "guga" kuerten the tournament will be less colourful bcuz as we all know everyone in tennis< ESPECIALLY the brazilians will miss his charismatic style n presence. Let's just hope he comes back and win at least a couple more french open (although this seems improbable at the juncture)at least as well as beating nadal, federer n whomever it takes.......  (May 21, 2007 | post #1)

Kuerten Wins at Brazil Open

I believe that Guga will be playing beyond the first week of the upcoming french open if he does gain entry to this major tournament. After all he defeated Fillipo Volandri in the Brasil Open earlier this year even though he only managed to progress to the second round only. I feel that with that victory his confidence would have been lifted considerably as we all know that Fillipo did cause a major upset by defeating Roger Federer in the Rome Masters recently. So come on "Guga" give it your best shot at your beloved Rolland Garros.  (May 17, 2007 | post #1)

Kuerten could miss French with injured hip

When is Guga participating in his next tournament? Could the upcoming French Open be his springboard to kick start his way back to the very top of world tennis where he rightfully belongs.....I sincerely hope so bcuz he is the most entertaining as well as strong willed player i've ever come across since Borg and Jimbo.  (May 16, 2007 | post #2)
