LI soldier's jeep stolen on Memorial Day weekend

They stole my wifes van from right in front of our house. It was used to transport packages to the post office for operation love our troops. We haven't heard anything and it has been 4 weeks. It did not have theft on it so we are totally out what it was worth. It seems like these new thieves are targeting older vehicles for whatever reason. These types of thefts hurt the victims more because older cars don't usually have full insurance coverage.  (May 26, 2008 | post #20)

Illegal Immigration: how do you feel?

Like a foreigner in my own Country. My co workers are all illegals and my customers are all Europeans. My Government Acts like they don't know me or the rest of my fellow Americans and fails to look out for our best interest.  (May 23, 2008 | post #1057)

No title

The solutions are there for what ever reason our Government won't start enacting them? Just like illegal immigration, It doesn't take a rocket science to have a fence installed. I bet Bush could have Home Depot install it fast if he really wanted. I can't believe Iraq can't help us out with this? There must be some laws that could be used against the oil companies crippling our Nation. I guess I am hoping for a Leadership that cares!!!  (May 5, 2008 | post #21)

Construction brothers guilty of tax evasion

How does everybody think all the millions of people who are here illegally are working? Totally legal on the books? These guys must of done sloppy book keeping because they would be able to after any service type job in Suffolk County for this. I see most businesses being run improperly each day. With them not cracking down on illegals the incentive is just too great for business owners. You look like a fool if your not doing it!!!  (Apr 14, 2008 | post #12)

Suffolk collects $300M in health violations annually

Everybody is missing the point here. There is something wrong in Suffolk County. We stood out from other counties in the report. I know one large contributing factor is the illegal population managing and operating the food establishments. Why doesn't Newsday look into this? Are people who here illegally certified food managers in Suffolk County? I dare Newsday to look into this!!!  (Apr 12, 2008 | post #14)

Suffolk collects $300M in health violations annually

Maybe pay settlements to all the American citizens who are food managers in Suffolk. They have really been screwed by Suffolk County certifying illegals as food managers.  (Apr 11, 2008 | post #7)

Suffolk collects $300M in health violations annually

Suffolk County certifies illegals as food managers. They see nothing wrong with letting illegals attend a 3 day class with an exam at the end. They offer more and more classes each year in Spanish to cater to the illegal population. These illegals look out for the best interest of the employer who hired them illegally in the first place, not the American public. Why there are certificates with Steve Levys name on it being issued by Suffolk County is beyond me. Steve Levy is aware of this, I have been in contact with him for over a year. They have done nothing to stop the practice of certifying illegals. Employers are starting more business and sending more of there illegal work force out to be certified by the county every year. In some cases these employers are also the landlords of these illegals. Suffolk County is really putting the screws to anybody who is an American citizen and in food management in Suffolk County. They may need some of this fine money to settle with the legal food managers such as myself someday. Steve Levy should be ashamed!!!  (Apr 11, 2008 | post #6)

In Suffolk they allow illegals to be food managers. Someday there will be a large amount of people sick from a food borne illness. I can tell you from experience that there no way these people who are here illegally are protecting us from this. They are just looking out for there employers best interest. E mail Steve Levy and tell him to stop certifying illegals as food managers in Suffolk County. These certificates even have his name on them. He should be ashamed!!!  (Apr 9, 2008 | post #36)
