Occupy Wall St - Oneida, TN

This is by far the most entertaining going on right now. I just love to turn on the news and see these vastly informed and well organized activists do such a great job articulating all of the principals they stand for. It is equally enjoyable for me to listen as they share with us their well thought out, logically and factually sound ideas for fixing all of the problems they are upset about. Keep it up "occupiers ". Go on showing America and the world the degree and nature of substance you carry around in those big intelligent brains of yours. News anchors, keep putting the microphones in their face so they can speak their minds. Point those cameras all over their base camps and tent cities. Let us see your hard work and dedication. Take on that 1%. After all, 39% of all income taxes is not nearly enough for them to pay in order for it to be fair for the rest of us 99% (Half of which pay no taxes at all.) So come on "occupiers ", tell us on here, there, and everywhere all of your grievances, and show us your insight on how we are to solve them.  (Nov 21, 2011 | post #74)

Animal shelter in Scott Co.?

People pushing for this are going to have to find some more educated and resourceful spokespeople to plea their case on this. I for one am not convinced at all, and if you can't convince a dog lover like myself, you are never going to convince anyone to pay for it.  (Dec 19, 2010 | post #1)

Citizen Sound-Off

Tennessee Hunting Rights Amendment

How was that post confusing? I read it twice myself and it seemed to maintain its clarity on the second time as well.  (Oct 24, 2010 | post #1737)

Slowly recovering"? Seriously? It would be much appreciated if you would help my poor ignorant self understand, perhaps by simply telling me where some of these recoveries are taking place. Be as specific as possible because I'm a little slow.  (Oct 16, 2010 | post #332)

Should We Have Liquor Sales In Scott County

Well I wanted to reply to so many of these comments that i just couldn't decide. As a result to that I decided to comment on the last one. So here we go.....neither the evolution "Theory" nor the creation "Theory" are proven fact. They are exactly what they are titled...Theories. Good luck on proving or disproving either.  (Sep 13, 2010 | post #99)

Gay Marriage - Oneida, TN

Would you all please stop quoting the bible? Not everyone is a christian. You are wasting your time arguing this with bible verses. It is unfortunately a weak argument. Try to be logical.  (Aug 11, 2010 | post #42)

Then don't partake in it. As far as anyone else is concerned it is not your business.  (Aug 10, 2010 | post #22)

Gay Marriage - Oneida, TN

I consider myself to be conservative in my political views, with maybe a hint or two of libertarian views. With that said I must also add that I do not necessarily condone homosexuality, but I also do not believe that it is the federal government's place to say whether or not a same sex couple can or cannot be joined in some sort of civil union or marriage if you want to call it that. It doesn't effect my rights as an individual whatsoever if the gay couple down the street wants to get married anymore than it would if the devout christian couple next door wants to put a big wooden cross in their front yard. Our country was founded on the concept of the rule of law, not the rule of the majority. If you were to take a vote in this county of whether or not the people wished to "allow" same sex marriages, and the people voted 4,998 to 2, that still doesn't make it right by our constitution or the laws of our land. This is an issue that does nothing but distract us from the issues that directly effect us on a daily basis.  (Aug 10, 2010 | post #20)

President Obama

As far as former president Bush's flaws may go, I do believe that the blaming of him for everything that seems to plague our nation at the present time has run its course for all but the most ignorant and sheepish of our populous. After a while, the arrow of responsibility begins to point, with the most radiant glow, at the true bearer of it's own self. The people will see, with their own eyes, who is truly responsible for the social and economic woes we are currently facing.  (Jul 31, 2010 | post #275)

Why don't you let us all in on the jobs he has cost us?  (Jul 25, 2010 | post #67)

I have many questions about your comment, but while I try to stop laughing, could you try and tell me about his "expert knowledge of economics and politics"?  (Jul 16, 2010 | post #248)
