Gay Marriage - Greenville, OH

The only point you're proving is you don't have what it takes to debate something calmly and intelligently with someone you disagree with. That's what adults do. Disagreements can't always be solved by violence. Congress, negotiations between management and labor, even club meetings would become brawls. I don't like the Klan or the Nazis for their racial policies. Communism and socialism have proven to me that they're the wrong socioeconomic policies to use by a government. But if a Klansman, a Nazi, or someone speaking publicly about anything I mentioned would get a rebuttal from me, not violence. Why not just tell your kids that if they saw two men or two women holding hands publicly, like straight people do, that some people are attracted to someone of the same sex; that there are many theories about why (their home life, culture, genetics, for example) but no definite answers; and sooner or later they're going to see it again. Greenville is not like a rock sitting in the middle of a river, isolated from everything going on around it. The stock markets of other nations affects Wall Street. A grain harvest failure in Russia can open up a bigger market for American farmers. No need to tell how OPEC can do a number on our economy when they withhold oil from us. By your beliefs, the best answer would be violence. Do we invade them with ground troops, use cruise missles, or some tactical nuclear warheads? Because apparently you would think diplomacy is a waste of time.  (Oct 24, 2015 | post #99)

Indiana--the new Alabama

IN Governor Mike Pence and the state's House of Representatives have already backtracked. A revision to the law has been put in place. By some accounts top officials in the state were surprised at the backlash. This was a fight the GOP didn't want. The cultural/social conservatives are pushing the party hard to enact laws like this. And the other half, the business segment, is saying this will be bad for business and are pushing back. It's becoming a wedge issue for Republicans. Yesterday I read an article online asking why the GOP seems to be so at odds with the rest of America. The writer said the GOP is in a cultural disconnect; the conservatives are pushing them to the right and intolerance while the country is becoming more secular and tolerant. A majority of young Republicans are in support of same-sex marriage. To them, this is an area that defines how inclusive their party is. It'll be interesting to see how long Huckleberry, Cruz, Santorum, et al, ride this horse and how quietly they'll dismount when the GOP candidate for President begins lagging in the polls.  (Apr 6, 2015 | post #3)

Selenalantis are you still with us?

Frankly, it wouldn't bother me if she IS/was a Wiccan or flipped burgers. She could debate intelligently and didn't go out of her way to look for trouble.  (Jan 25, 2015 | post #10)

Illegal mexicans!!!

On the subject of the schools attracting industry--opinion' s divided on that. I should still have a letter to the editor by, I think, Don Wright. The writer said he had spoken with several local business leaders. Some of them had said they wouldn't support the "Taj Mahal" school being proposed. If they felt that way why shouldn't out-of-state companies feel the same way? A company will decide to locate or not locate here for several reasons, such as the labor pool, taxes, government regulations, transport (I-75 and I-70 means 70% of America can be delivered to from Dayton in one day) and other factors in the company's interests. The idea a new school will attract industry was a stated reason for a new school. I never saw any links supporting it posted by believers.  (Jan 25, 2015 | post #57)

Pope Francis Dances Around Calling For Repeal Of French M...

Dude I got kicked out 32 years ago. Some of my answers are based on their teachings and some of it is practical, like asking if women are required to run the risk of pregnancy every time they have sex. The JW's took no Biblical stance on contraception being bad. Using it is in the area of a conscience decision.  (Jan 5, 2015 | post #18)

how bad are drugs in darke county seriously?

Noted conservative William F. Buckley disagrees with you. In a Newsweek article I read while waiting for my last eye exam, Buckley was quoted in an article telling how many GOP lawmakers are in favor of legalizing pot but can't say so openly for fear of being labelled "soft on drugs." He said, "Saying marijuana leads to heroin is like saying masturbation leads to rape."  (Jan 5, 2015 | post #28)

Bill Cosby rape ALLEGATIONS

I haven't been following this story beyond reading the headlines when they appear. Right now he hasn't been charged with any crimes related to this matter. And that's the right way. Our justice system is based on the idea of "innocent until proven guilty" (that should be "unless" ). But until convicted he should be considered guiltless.  (Nov 23, 2014 | post #1)

Is it morally wrong to view leaked nude celebrity photos?

Morals are the unwritten and often nonlegislated codes of conduct we live by.  (Sep 14, 2014 | post #188)

If these activities (some of which are NOT linked by evidence) bother you that much, why not emigrate to another country which runs itself with those activities already illegal? If Scripture is right, the world will continue unstoppably on this path until Armageddon. Why frustrate yourself daily?  (Sep 14, 2014 | post #52)
