Gotta go

Topix (or Karen Nolan?) is playing a sneaky little game, where posts I've created show up on my computer, but not on others. I suppose it's done with an IP filter... but I'm not really interested in the techy details. Anyway, it's been fun. Have fun with yourselves, and don't let your meatloaf. PD  (Nov 7, 2008 | post #1)

Disrespectful behavior

I understood you perfectly. You said that in order to live as a Christian, one must follow the new testament; not the old. Therefore, one can only logically conclude that the new testament is the "word of God" while the old is not. I advise you to think VERY carefully of your dismissal of the old testament as no longer being the word of God, lest you wind up as my next door neighbor at the Brimstone Terrace Apartments. I'll put a beer in the fridge for you, regardless. PD  (Nov 7, 2008 | post #119)

Max Moves to Tuvalu to Avoid the Obamanation

I can't believe anyone would ever do something so vile to a poor, innocent fish. What has this world come to? PD  (Nov 6, 2008 | post #43)

Political dark ages await us

I don't think you need to worry about Obama handing free money to the ne'er do well, baggy pants lost boys of war zone Richmond. Why would you think that he would feel any more of an affinity to those wretched criminals than you do? Assuming you're Caucasian, are you automatically inclined to throw cash and benefits at white trash meth heads? Of course not. Look, here's the deal: There is currently a tremendous problem with the very culture of urban black communities in our nation: Kids born into those hell holes are exposed from early on to examples of "success " that are anything but - and hell no, it is not YOUR fault, it is the fault of their elders, passing down to each successive generation, the horrid misconception that opportunity in white society does not exist, so why bother even trying to become anything "better" than a pro athlete, coke dealer, or perhaps a bling flashin' ghetto rapper? Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson... those despicable poverty pimps have done absolutely NOTHING positive over the courses of their lives to attempt change within the culture, as they've both learned long ago that they could attain magnificent personal wealth by massaging and feeding the community's belief in the idea of the American black man as a perpetual victim. Obama is the antithesis of those two evil clowns: He is a man of color, who has shown through example that opportunity does indeed exist, if only one is willing to work for it, instead of whining about unfairness, and crying for handouts. I don't believe you could be farther from the truth in your assessment of Obama as a person who would spoon feed the lazy and slothful. How could he be so, when he so obviously abhors and rejects personally, the longstanding inner city myth of "whitey be **** 'din' me down"? As a result of his incredible, self-inspired rise from Nowhereland to the senate, and to (impossible!) the presidency of the United States of America, there are no excuses left for the pieces of crap in black society who would continue to attempt justification of the worst aspects of the culture, and to pass it down to the youngsters, as their predetermined future. Reverend Jessie was shown crying tears of joy as the election was called, but I'm of the opinion that at least a few of those tears might have been cried over his own distressed realization; That the presence of Obama in the oval office, can only obliterate the myth he has for so long nurtured and preached: The myth of Why Even Try? Political dark ages await us

Somehow I don't remember Jimmy Carter starting any accidental wars? Sure, he was an amazingly incompetent leader, but I'd take three terms of Carter over six months of GW Stupid. What's the cost of the Iraq war running these days, $10 bil a month? As for 9-11, while I would never downplay the emotional pain the event wreaked on all of us, one should attempt to keep it's effect in context. 3,000 dead, and some mangled real estate. We're over 4,000 dead GI's in Iraq today, and every single one of their deaths for naught. Carter was weak willed and ineffective. GW, however, with his arrogant confidence matched with single digit IQ, has led us into a never-ending, money eating quagmire - against a regime that had nothing to do with 9-11. "Whoops, mah bad. Heh heh." And Debbie - Blaming Clinton for failing to prevent 9-11? That's about as wrong-headed as blaming GW for it. I can think of a few different methods even as I sit here for creating equally horrendous terrorist acts, and there is nothing that could prevent their being carried out (and no, I ain't sayin' what they are!) We will see more terrorist actions as the years pass; it's unavoidable as long as there are rabid lunatics in our world - whether foreign, or our own. Hopefully we will respond to them with well thought out reaction, as opposed to the insanity we are continuing to experience under Bush. As for Obama? Who knows. Only time will tell if he's got what it takes. He's inheriting one hell of a disaster. I hope to hell he measures up to the challenge. PD  (Nov 6, 2008 | post #50)

What Will BO Bring to the Nation?

I don't know if you'd ever be able to "get it," oh wise and wonderful school marm, but I do not follow scrupulously the laws that govern equal housing opportunity only because they are law, I also believe strongly in the necessity of these laws - exclusively because of people like YOU. Is there a higher incidence of defectives in the black community than that of other skin tones? Experience tells me that the answer, in our current times, is yes. Does that give me any right whatsoever to deny a rental applicant because I've had problems with previous black tenants? No, it does not - and anyone who is able to understand the extremely basic concept of all American citizens having equal recourse to being treated fairly in our everyday lives, should have no problem understanding why such personal policy would be one to follow and even espouse. As you are an educated woman, I should not have to tell you how incensed you would find yourself, were you to be denied equal opportunity for housing, or ANYTHING, because the person or firm to which you'd applied, maintains a policy of not accepting teachers - based on their own previous negative dealings with some, or even all school teachers they've come into contact with. Jesus... why am I even bothering? What is wrong with you? PD  (Nov 6, 2008 | post #17)

That might not be a bad thing. We slapped the inbreds down in 1865, and maybe it's about time to do it all over again. There's not a whole lot of brainpower or money in the red states, so maybe we could knock the whole thing out in four weeks instead of four years this time around. PD  (Nov 6, 2008 | post #8)
