Feeling Sick? Stay At Home

Obviously the State of Connecticut knows better how to run a business than the owner... just look how many new companies are coming to Connecticut because of our pro-business policies!  (Apr 29, 2009 | post #21)

Feeling Sick? Stay At Home

When sick employees cause more lost time by coming into work than if they stayed home, businesses voluntarily offer paid sick days. That's just common sense good business. Yet, in times like these, with businesses failing and being bailed out because of their poor decisions, we have people attempting to force bad business decisions on some companies.  (Apr 28, 2009 | post #13)

Student Groups Divided On Right To Carry Guns On Campus

These are public schools funded with taxpayer dollars. Both the United States Consitution and Connecticut Constitution guarantee our right to bear arms. These schools should not be able to deny citizens that right.  (Apr 17, 2009 | post #13)

A Tax Cut Protest?

Seriously... that's your counter argument? A cherry-picked picture from a site called moderateleft.com? The old Bush did it first, so it's OK for Obama to do worse defense? Wow... If you register and search my post history here, you'll see I've been one of the biggest whiners about all the bailouts and excessive state and federal spending.  (Apr 16, 2009 | post #12)

Thousands Gather At Capitol 'Tea Party' To Protest Federa...

The people posting these are hilarious. Anyone else reminded of the old Iraqi Information Minister? http://tinyurl.com /38xw4  (Apr 16, 2009 | post #22)

A Tax Cut Protest?

Huh? I think you (and many others) completely misunderstand the purpose of the Tea Party protests. They were just as much about excessive wasteful government spending as they were taxes. In your opinion, Bush's billion dollar yearly deficit spending was bad, but Obama's trillion dollar yearly deficit spending is OK? PS - Obama's deficit spending is STILL going to Haliburton.  (Apr 16, 2009 | post #10)

A Tax Cut Protest?

The tax protest movement is nothing new. It has just shifted into high gear due to the massive government spending of the Bush administration and Obama's accelerated spending. Just take a look at Bush and Obama's deficit spending. http://tinyurl.com /cj2n5o Who's door is the government going to come knocking on when it needs to pay back that debt? Even taxing the millionaries at 100% won't pay for it, yet they're still proposing more spending every day!  (Apr 16, 2009 | post #6)

A Tax Cut Protest?

Perhaps Pam Bergren should read the paper she just wrote a letter to. How could she miss the tax hikes planned by the state of Connecticut? The Tea Party protests were not just about federal tax hikes, they're about excessive government spending, bailouts, state and local tax hikes, sales and use taxes, gas taxes, increased tolls, new fees and permits, etc. etc. etc. There's alot more to taxes than the federal income tax. Just because Obama shifted your federal income tax burden to next year, doesn't mean you aren't going to be paying more in taxes now.  (Apr 16, 2009 | post #4)

Tea Party Protests Underway

You're kidding me. You don't think democracy ends immediately after you cast your vote, do you? We've been reduced to choosing between two evils. People who would or do vote third party have zero representation. Their only choice is to attempt to change the two majority parties through actions such as this.  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #117)

Many Libertarians and Democrats at the Tea Party were at those protests. They were just holding different signs.  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #44)

Reagan started his term with a top income tax rate of 70%. He left office with a top rate of 28%. Today's top rate is 35%.  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #32)

If we did something the modern day equivalent of the Boston Tea Party, you'd be screaming for our arrest. This is a peaceful demonstration. We don't dump toxic waste on what we're protesting.  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #21)

Report: 4 shot, many taken hostage at immigration center ...

Don't worry about these too much, they are simply troll posts. Notice the name he goes by, "Proud American". The same thing happened during the election, people by the name of "McCain Voter" or "Proud Republican" would spam racist/sexist comments about Obama and Hillary.  (Apr 3, 2009 | post #43)
