I know it wasn't all members, but it was also more than a few, and the church leadership who knows about it is content to sweep it under the rug and let people who are doing it go on and continue to work with the kids in the church and hold positions of leadership when they shouldn't. I tried for 3 years to be a part of the solution through solid bible preaching. The real solution that is needed is to get back to real bible repentance and get the sin out of the camp. Yes I am human and yes I am hurt and angry over this. What upsets me more than anyting is that the churc had to go through all of this with your new "pastor" . I the church had listened to real bible preaching and followed real pastoral leadership when it was offered, none of this other nonsense would have happened. Maybe pastors would stop coming and going if the church would be willing to follow real pastoral leadership and let a real pastor love the people and try to miniser to them  (May 25, 2010 | post #52)

The only reason I ever got involved to begin with is because there are people in the church who were calling me wanting to know what they should do. If you really want to know about my disappointment and hurt in the church it's because from the very beginning I knew that several of you didn't wante me there to start with. I never got an ounce of backing or encouragment from many of you. Negative criticism, laying out of church, talking about me behind my back, trying to get side meetings going to have me removed from the church. I know all of that was going on. How do you think that stuff made me and my family feel? I poured my heart and soul into that church to get slapped in the face by many of you -mostly the social drinking partying crowd who didn't want to hear real preaching or follow real pastoral leadership. I'm feeling no more negative towards the church than many of you felt towards me, and many of you went out of your ways to hurt me and my family and to prove a point that you didn't want us there. I haven't judged anyone, but the Bible says you will know them by the fruit that they bear. And know this isn't negative towards everyone there, but I will tell you there were also many people who were angry over the way that we were treated during our time there. This will be my last post here. I've never tried to hurt anyone at that church, only to minister and to preach the truth. I can't help it if people didn't want to hear it or be confronted with sin.  (May 25, 2010 | post #51)

Sin is the biggest problem in that church, or any church for that matter. When sin (be it alcohol, adultery, or any other vice) and apathy runs deep and unchecked in a church, it will suck the life right out of it. The only way to deal with sin is to see it for what it is - a hideous afront to a loving God, get broken and repent over it, and stop it. But people there love their partying and their booze more than they love God. You can't ahve it both ways. Either you love God and hate the world or you love the world and hate God!! That church has so much potential if they would stop playing games with God and get right!!  (May 25, 2010 | post #47)

I know I shouldn't say anything else about this, but my family and I were so hurt when we left that church that we loved dearly because there are those in the church who didn't want a real pastor when they had one. All they wanted was their social club church where their drinking and partying was never confronted. If they would have listened and followed real pastoral leadership, this would have never happened. We're at a great church now and I'm trying hard to put GA behind us, but the hurt runs very deeply when you've been stabbed in the back by those you've loved and tried to minsiter to for 3 years. Maybe through all this the real trouble makers in the church will get their lives right, drop their drinking and carnality and really start having church!!  (May 24, 2010 | post #44)

God is not just any god, and He is no god to be trifled with!! It would be better to have a millstone tied around your neck and to be thrown into the sea than to hurt (offend) one of these little one!!! Unless true repentenace comes, this man will have a hot spot in hell, and those compromisers in the church may well too split hell wide open if they don't get it right!! God help them - Please  (May 23, 2010 | post #36)

Absolutely no apology necessary. I just wanted you to understand my heart as a pastor and a child of God. I know we need to love people, but sometimes that love calls for us to stand against someone when they are wrong. We love our children but have no problem disciplining them when they are wrong. We love our children and do all within out power to protect them from harm!! Should we be any different in the church? True love calls for action, and if we really love God and His people, then we will stand and do all that is necessary to protect God's people from predators such as this. I think it's time to call the state leaders into the church and make them aware of what is happening! I think its time to call an arbitrator from the state to come in and mediate this thing! I think its time for the true church to finally stand up, shake off its spiritual apath, get some backbone and do what is right - no matter what the cost. Because I can guarantee you that the cost of inaction and indiffernce is far greater than the cost of standing and doing what is right. Please know that I truly do love you all there, and I've already been in prayer again for you all this morning. This so pains and grieves my heart that this has happened to my friends and church family!! RISE UP MEN OF GOD!! DO WHAT IS RIGHT!! STAND STRONG WOMEN OF GOD!! NEVER COMPROMISE WHAT IS RIGHT!! If that man refuses to leave, the church should simply cut off his salary, stop paying his parsonage bills, and force him to leave!! I know I'm rambling now, but I'm just so beside myself over this!! Oh God, please help this church today. The devil has entered through the sheepgate, and he is carrying off your flock and destroying your church. Judge this man and remove him from that pulpit, oh Lord, and judge those who would compromise your word and allow this to go on under their noses!! God, may you through this cause this people to shake off spiritual apath and indifference, wake them up, stand them up, strengthen them, and give them the victory in the namne that is above every name - Jesus Christ our Lord  (May 23, 2010 | post #32)

Absolutely no church is perfect, and the bible is clear that all have sinned - be we should be striving for a standard of holy living, we should be striving for a standard of righteousness. The Apostle Paul had no problem getting angry or confronting the sin and the issuses plaguing the church at Corinth! He was bold in his letter and his confronting of the church trouble makers. While no church is perfect, the church has been given a standard as to who the church should and shouldn't accept as a pastor - Read I Timothy and Titus!! If you stand on those standards you cannot go wrong. Deviate from those standards, well....  (May 23, 2010 | post #28)

In response to Tabltton GA - "calm down previous pastor" - there is such a thing as righteous indignation. There is a time to pray about God's will, and other times, God's will is so painfuly clear that the only thing required is to stand and take action!! For three years I loved, cared for and poured my heart out to that church, often times even neglecting time with my own family. I still love that church and the people in it. It angers me as a pastor that there are men out there like this who sneek into the flock and carry the sheep away to devour them!! For three years I preached the truth and tried hard to protect it's flock. I have seen these things happen in churches in the past, and unless the ones in the church who know the truth band together against those who are willing to compromise the truth of God's word, nothing good will come of it. And the longer that no action is taken against this wolf and his followers, the hurt will only deepen, and the faction widen until there is no going back. My anger is based on love for God's word, love for the truth, and love for God's people. I am truly praying for you all that this is brought to a head quickly, decisively, and righteously  (May 23, 2010 | post #27)

...Starting with the belt of truth - Amen!! Truth will always win in the end. People can put all the "spin" they want on their stories, make all the excuses in the world they want to justify sin, but there is a principal in scripture that says "Be sure your sin will find you out." Romans 16:17-18; Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and AVOID THEM. For they that are such SERVE NOT our Lord Jesus Christ, but THEIR OWN BELLY; and by GOOD WORDS and FAIR SPEECHES DECIEVE the hearts of the simple  (May 23, 2010 | post #26)

The man isn't the problem - the church is the problem because they sweep sin under the rug and will not stand on God's word. I was there for three years and I know what is going on in the church. The church itself will only be okay if the men in that church will stand up, repent and get their own lives right with God!!  (May 22, 2010 | post #20)

I won't hide behinde some online screen name. I am the former pastor of this church, and it grieves my heart to see they've allowed this wolf to enter into the flock. What really dumbfounds me more than anything is that there are people in that church who want to give this man a shot at being their pastor. I really shouldn't be surprised by the Spell family thought. They didn't want a real pastor when they had one. They ought to just stay home and watch Joel Osteen. I'm more shocked that there are deacons there who are willing to let this man lead them. They had better wake up and throw this man to the curb before that church splits. If that happens, that church will never recover. Throw the sinners out of the camp (Acahan anyone) and the sin will go with it. Then and only then will God be able to bless. To the church at ephesus write - ...I have somewhat against thee because thou hast left thy first love. Remember from whence thou art falledn and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repen - Revelation 2:3-4. It's time to kick the adultery, the alcohol, and the sin out of the church. Deacons - stand up and be the men that God has called you to be!!! Pastor Charles  (May 22, 2010 | post #18)
