What is Christianity?

Hi Billy boy, found the answer to your bike riding problem. Wave bye bye to those stabilisers. www.eta.co.uk/2009 /09/17/bicycle-you -can%E2%80 %99t-fall - 13k Just think, get one of these and you might be allowed to play with the bigger boys. No need to thank me, it's the least I can do for someone who brings so much happiness to so many. Hope too that you are recovering well from the bubonic plague. Happy cycling and a Merry Christmas Billy boy!  (21 hrs ago | post #1332)

Christmas Is Pagan!

So you like Pope jokes do you. A man was having a trim at the barbers. Man: I'm off to Rome tomorrow, and I hope to see the Pope when he addresses the crowd from his balcony in St Peter's Square. Barber: That will be nice. Two weeks later the man is back at the barbers for another trim. Barber: How was your visit to Rome, did you see the Pope? Man: It was great, thousands of people in the square, but I was right at the back and could just about see the Pope. Then something amazing happened. In the middle of his address to the crowd, the Pope suddenly stopped, looked in my direction and beckoned me forward. The crowd parted like the Red Sea and soon I was standing underneath the balcony looking up at his holiness. Barber: Wow, what happened then? Man: The Pope spoke to me. Barber: He did, what did he say? Man: He said, "Hey, who the f**k gave you that haircut?"  (Yesterday | post #211)

What would Topix teach you about Christians if...

To answer your fist question it would be necessary to establish who or what is a Christian. You only have to read the Topix threads to see that for the most part it is one professing Christian telling another professing Christian that they are not real Christians, or that they have got it wrong. Would I be inspired by what I read from Christians on Topix regarding their faith? For the most part no. Many Christians posting here are so intolerant that they are simply acting as recruiting sergeants for non belief. I realise of course that there are Christians who express their beliefs in a much more reasonable and tolerant manner, but for me personally, it makes no difference, whether Christianity is expressed with or without tolerance, I still don't believe any of it! Having said that, there are Christians here on Topix I can communicate with very happily, as one human being to another!  (Yesterday | post #12)

You are well named Samson. According to your bible, when Samson's hair was cut, they also blinded him. You would need to be blind not to see that some of the most vitriolic posts are from Christians themselves. Do you mean to tell me you have never read posts from Christians calling for death penalty for gays? Have you never read posts from Christians expressing their undisguised glee in their belief that atheists and non believers will suffer eternal torment? Have you never read a post from a Christian saying that women who have abortions, and doctors who carry them out, should be executed? Have you never read posts from Christians calling non believers satan worshippers, saying they are evil and without morals for no other reason than they don't believe in your god. Have you never read posts from Christians vilifying other faiths, even other Christian faiths? Catholicism seems to get it in the neck most of all. For you to say that atheists and non believers are most guilty of being disrespectful in their posts, shows that you only read what you want to read, or maybe you yourself think that there is nothing wrong with the kind of Christian posts I am talking about?  (Yesterday | post #11)

Please keep your religion to yourselves!

Your post just about sums up all there is to know about you, and that is, that you are not worth knowing. One thing though, you will never have to worry about having a heart attack. You don't appear to have a heart. It's difficult to fathom how someone can be so bitter. Anyway, that's your problem, although why you advertise your bitterness to the world is another thing!  (Thursday | post #72)

Palestinian Christians issue theological call for an end to Isr...

All Nettie did was put forward an opinion. I saw no hatred in her post at all. All you did was take another opportunity to use the hate word to condemn someone, as you so often do. You seem obsessed with the word!  (Thursday | post #526)

For those who disagree with what I said about the Jews rejecting Jesus as the messiah, instead of taking the easy way out by flashing up a negative icon, why don't you tell me why you disagree?  (Wednesday | post #508)

Palestinian Christians issue theological call for an end to Isr...

The certain Christian fundies who wax lyrical about Israel, and chastise with extreme venom, anyone who says anything critical regarding Israel, are a strange lot. These same kind of people have told me, and other non believers like me, that not accepting Jesus as a personal saviour, therefore not being "born again", means that we are all destined for an eternity of pain and suffering in the "lake of fire" where ever that is. My question to these fundies is, why are you not telling that to the people of Israel. Your god's "chosen people" are Jews, and I have no recollection of any Jewish person ever saying that Jesus is their personal saviour and that they are born again. How is it the fundie Christians have no problem condemning Muslims, Catholics, even other professing Christians, and any other faith you care to mention, to eternal damnation, but not the people of Israel? Jews do not believe Jesus was the messiah, they have rejected him as such, and hey, you even believe they played a large part in having him crucified. Do you think that at some time the Jewish people are going to convert en bloc to Christianity in order to fulfil the necessary criteria for salvation, or perhaps you believe your god is going to grant a dispensation to the Jewish people, denied the rest of us non believers? I don't know, you tell me!  (Wednesday | post #507)
