Cool, thanks for the clarification. I think you and I are actually on the same page then. I agree with pretty much every bullet point. About he person from NE, I used to own chickens as well. Home produced brown eggs are so much richer and are a wonderful treat. Happy chickens make better eggs. (4 hrs ago | post #64)

Should I call the SCPD every time I see an X3 on a stall? I don't see why one type of graffiti is more newsworthy than another, other than maybe the Sentinel staff having bias toward the Semitic community above the Latino community. Bigots! (4 hrs ago | post #6)

Hmm so that was the motive. Then I second what you say. Hopefully surviving this incident will bring some support and solace to alleviate the suicidal motivation. Roughly $5K in damages/cleanup is a lot less than I would have imagined the cost would be. (4 hrs ago | post #6)
Chuck Norris touched by Santa Cruz homeless man - Santa Cruz Se...
I agree with you, and you said it very well. I have a family member, homeless by choice, due to drug addiction. The homeless are kind of neutral to me. I don't give them any handouts, as I believe in helping those who are also making a genuine effort to help themselves, but I think we have bigger fish to fry in terms of cleaning up this county. It isn't the homeless that are stabbing, raping, breaking into cars, and jumping teenage skateboarders. (4 hrs ago | post #43)

So to care about animals makes someone a bigot Nazi? That is one of the most ridiculous essays I've read. Nazi Germany in general was a messed up place in a twisted time. The comparison to animal rights and Angel of Death type experiments is rather irrelevant. Maybe violent activists can be labeled as "Nazis", but there is nothing wrong with caring and being vegetarian. I am not sure why people are so vehement against animal rights, but those same people are sympathetic to tortured dogs (are animals are ranked on their cuteness?). I am hateful towards firebombers like these kids; not civilized people who believe in animal rights that aren't acting like terrorists. PETA may have their bits hypocrisy, but what organization doesn't (especially The Church)? People expect every action to be black and white in plain view. And they have made a lot of positive progress and don't condone violence against humans. Was it not animal rights activists that exposed the slaughterhouse that led to a huge recall? That didn't take violence at all. I know I don't want to be consuming tainted beef. Animal rights isn't all about "Make meat eating illegal!!!" (well for some, it is, but not all). It starts with give these animals a better existence while they are alive. I'm not a vegetarian, but organic milk and meat actually does taste a lot better, like the King of the Hill episode. Amen! I support dissent and passionate causes, as its our American right. But they are being cowardly. I DO NOT support violent measures, such as how they have been taken. Its a crappy way to get anyone to listen anyway, like Martin Luther King methods versus Malcolm X style. And about Number 1, they won't care about this anymore when they graduate and join the corporate workforce (unless they get the usual UCSC degree in finger painting and have to make coffee for a living with a useless BA). Caffe Pergolesi owner renounces animal-rights fliers - Santa Cr...
Violent extremism like war and police militance? The opposite of progress us regression. So sure, if you love primitive stone age barbarism, then lets start a regressive community. Progress is good. 'Liberal', a term derived from liberty, which means freedom. I love freedom and America. And the opposite of freedom is conservatives making every lie squeeze the nuts of the civilian imposing rules mandated by religious fundamentalists. I support the whole consistence, including the right to bear arms. And I am firmly against the acts of these kids harassing and firebombing researchers. I condone dissent, but not terrorism. I can't wait to progress from this regressive economic decline caused by the 'right'. (Yesterday | post #24)

The employees likely know someone who knows the kids who left the fliers. They likely hang out there all the time, show up on fixed-gear bikes, and wear faded black carhart jeans. As long as we're profiling other sects of our community, I figure I might as well profile UCSC kids. But I may not be wrong though. (Yesterday | post #22)

Kinsley St and driving without a license. By any chance, were they driving an older model Honda with a Coast Auto Insurance sticker on it? There are a TON of those going from that neighborhood to the flats, and back and forth, always driving 10MPH below the speed limit. Seabright neighbors need to get away from their TV reality shows and get outside and have some fun too! (Yesterday | post #19)

I would think they are less likely to be happy actually, marrying moreso out of religious obligation, and not from trying a few partners til they find the one they deeply love. (Yesterday | post #85)
