I still stand by my initial post and agree with Western Digs that if the dinosaurs did not die out, we would not be here. True mammals evolved at roughly the same time as the first dinosaurs, yet as the dinosaurs became larger and more dominant the mammals remained barely unchanged throughout the entire Mesozoic era and all remained small and mostly nocturnal. It was indeed only because of the demise of the dinosaurs, the opening of so many ecological niches all at once, that mammals had a chance to grow bigger and more diverse. Also note that there were no primates in the Mesozoic, they evolved after the dinosaurs went extinct. So if dinosaurs never went extinct, I think it is fair to say mammals would still be the small and comparatively insignificant creatures that they were back in the Mesozoic and primates such as ourselves would not exist. Nope, human evolution would never have happened if dinosaurs were still alive. (Jan 15, 2014 | post #5)
In deep water the GWS would win. It is larger and more massive, with a bite that would make short work of the crocs hide. It also doesn't need to return to the surface to breathe and can attack swiftly from below. (Jan 15, 2014 | post #9)
Not the point. Right now you too are a part of the problem instead of the solution. (Nov 7, 2013 | post #38)
This new topix layout is tripping me out, will have to get used to it. Enough with the insults btw Coprolite, right now you are causing the exact thing that I thought we were all trying to avoid, which is forum instability. I don't see how insulting him is any better than replying to trolls, both are low acts that this forum does not need. (Nov 6, 2013 | post #36)
