Methadone withdrawal- mental and physical problems

Hello. Some of you may know me from a while back....but I have a great success story to share with you all. One that may give encouragement to any of you trying to wean or get off from Methadone. This, of course, is based on one persons' experience and I am not a doctor, therefore I always' highly recommend you speak with your physician. This is my opinion ONLY, based on true facts within my nephews' experience. He was addicted to Oxycodone for 2 years and started taking a low dose of Methadone, which he was on for about a year. He was using the oxycodone every day for 2 years and decided to stop completely and use methadone to taper off from everything. I wasn’t' sure this would work out, but for him it was successful. He used 20 mg of Methadone, once per day, for 1 year and Methadone ONLY. When he decided to taper it took him 2 weeks, which I thought was impossible after 1 year.....but it wasn’t'. I kept telling him to do as slow a taper as possible. He is 17 years old, 18 soon. I was here with him and he experienced nausea, extreme sleep deprivation, leg tremors and panic attacks, along with severe diarrhea, night sweats and full body discomfort. Well, he decided to go cold turkey, instead of taper......he was begging, pleading, but had no choice because he flushed ALL his Methadone down the toilet. Of course he started to regret IMMEDIATELY, but started to sleep (a little), body functions' close to normal, etc. after 2 weeks being off from Methadone cold turkey. It has not been the most easy road, but its’ nice to report its’ now been 9 weeks and he feels great, except sleep patterns are not consistently normal, anxiety and panic attacks still occur, which he is seeing a psychiatrist about and if he is to use any meds' it will definitely be NON-narcotic. ITS' SO POSSIBLE PEOPLE!!!!! I have worked in pain management for over 12 years now and NEVER seen anyone recover like this. I guess you really have to want it!!!!! If anyone has any questions' please feel free to ask, as I am sure I probably left a lot out of this post. Good luck and God Bless to ALL!!!!!!  (Sep 15, 2012 | post #40446)

Online rage follows Anthony jury home to Pinellas

Are you kidding me. If you dont' agree with the constitution and want to belittle the jurors' and live in a country w/ full government control then why dont' you try finding a different country to live in? Its' your 1st amendment right to speak your opinion, but just wondering exactly what your IQ is.......mid to high 20s' maybe, in my opinion???? Just another 3 yr. biased media follower, convicting a person before the trial even starts'. If you actually listened ONLY to the hard facts', which were little to none and ALL of the circumstantial evidence presented by both prosecution and defense teams', your opinion would be that of someone who understands' the difference between belief in "Media Fluff" vs "Factual Evidence". Then the juries' decision might have made sense to you. My opinion only, of course. Ciao'  (Jul 10, 2011 | post #347)

The ACTUAL Anthony Case was not one based on religion, but on very little facts' and mainly circumstances', of which any common person could conclude, just from listening strictly to the prosecution and defenses' evidence. The above comment is far from "eloquent ", but unfortunately is "the standard ignorance" of most followers' who have chosen to follow the biased, untruthful media outlets'. Then try and convict a person 3 yrs. before the trial even started. How dare you speak negative of the jury, calling them "dumb as rocks", which is your opinion, but is un-american and un-educated in my honest opinion. Every member of that jury deserves' our utmost respect as Americans'. This is a FREE county......if you want to live in a country where the government controls' you, then I hear China, Germany, Russia, etc. are looking for new Citizens'. If you dont' believe in "constitution al rights" or a "trial by a jury of your peers'" and you choose to have more rights' taken away from Americans', then keep on preaching what you will. In my opinion, your quote is most fit to go on a "religious " or "favorite tabloid that I like" type forum/thread? After the courts' assessment on money owed by Casey Anthony, it will be well over 500K for prosecutions' fees', then lawsuit after lawsuit by organizations' helping to find Caylee, lawsuits' from "Zanny", etc., etc., etc., so as for money, the prosecution and defense have both stated "Ms. Anthonys' wages' will be garnished and any book/movie deals' will automatically go through the court for payment first". Ms. Anthony can finally grieve her daughters' loss and she will probably have to move to a different country. Casey Anthony IS acquitted on all charges' having to do with "murder or abuse/neglect ". People need to start clearing their heads' and ask themselves' when exactly they convicted Anthony, because the fact of the matter is that the prosecution had "no evidence to prove the first 3 charges". I made it a point to listen only to the trial and evidence produced within the courtroom. This seems to be the drastic difference between how people feel about the verdict. Also, its' proven how dangerous listening and developing opinions' from biased media outlets' for 3 years' straight can be.....the MEDIA is trying to sell papers', magazines' and television programs' people!!!!! Just my opinion.  (Jul 10, 2011 | post #345)

Marijuana - Land O' Lakes, FL

ALL cancer and chronic pain patients' deserve the right to legal marijuana. Marijuana has been and is a medically PROVEN medicine to help hundreds' of thousands' of patients' in our country. Also, minimal side effects', unlike many opioid medications, which can also be extremely costly for those without insurance, which numbers' are only growing.  (Jul 10, 2011 | post #2)

This was NOT a "slam dunk" case, as you are stating. EVERYTHING, except Anthonys' lies' were the ONLY "smoking gun" in this case. As for all of the prosecutions' junk science, witnesses, etc., etc.....it was about spitting gum against the wall to see which brand would stick the best. ALL evidence in relation to "murder" was circumstantial. The jurors' saw this over and over again and If it were me, I would have been upset this case made it that far. I understand that for three years' before this trial, it was tried in a heavy, thick rain of biased media outlets'. Anthony was only 20 or 21 and immature and its' so obvious that Anthony was tried and convicted before she even went to trial. Thank God we still have a few people (like our jurors') that can take the HARD COLD FACTS' of evidence and make a decision w/ out using emotions' and media to lead them. As you will hear jurors' speak, "there just wasnt' evidence to convict" over and over and over again, maybe some people will start seeing the facts' and not the 3 years' worth of complete media TRASH all rolled up to spell "death penalty". I vote for the peoples' rights', please dont' help to take what rights' we have left.  (Jul 10, 2011 | post #457)

Go to the abortion thread. The Anthony Case is NOT about abortion, nor has it ever been. Your' comment is offensive, abortion is LEGAL and this is a free country where constitutional rights' are a must! If you dont' like the verdict or respect our jurors' then try moving to China, Africa, etc. God Bless a FREE Country. Please, dont' help take our rights' away!!!  (Jul 10, 2011 | post #454)

Thank you so much for this post!! You are absolutely right. We have so many other issues' that need to be addressed and all of us need to be pulling together, considering the last thing we need is more separation within our country. As a citizen of the U.S., I believe in our constitution and the right to a trial by a jury of our peers. I feel true fear for the jurors', due to the fact that people are calling them horrendous names', making death threats', still protesting outside the courthouse, etc., which is a disgrace, disrespectful and truly "un-American ". The trial is over. I watched the trial in its' entirety and felt the same way the jurors' did. Also, I make it a point to NEVER use biased media outlets' to base my decisions'. I honestly feel that many people judged her in the 3 years' before her trial, based on distasteful media outlets' that tried to sell the best story based on "NON-FACTUAL " biased opinions', putting their own spin on something that was never a fact. Mr. Mason is so right by stating that "information technology" is going to and is currently undermining journalism, taking it to a lower level, creating mis-information and destroying credibility through use of blogs', "instant information", etc. Ciao' Just my opinion.  (Jul 9, 2011 | post #383)

Can you take Methadone if you took 60mg of Oxy earlier th...

Methadonias'" focus is on ADDICTS' and persons' ABUSING methadone. It is a horrible movie to consider "educational " regarding methadone in any way. I think the movie speaks' for itself and I am saddened by the use of biased media crews and junk science in a "so called" documentary. As a realist, I prefer being told the truth and am aware of the good and bad effects' that methadone has on addicts' and patients' w/in a pain management setting. Its' far better to use medical journal articles', when dealing w/ medication issues', in my honest opinion. Take Care.  (Jul 7, 2011 | post #18)

Casey Anthony should have never been arrested in the first place. This is what happens' when the case is first judged by the media, without ALL of the facts. Many people are followers' of the Media and believe anything they say, but the truth is, the prosecution should never arrested her with such a weak case in the first place. Now we may never know.  (Jul 7, 2011 | post #227)
