Local school districts seeking money March 4

You are really, really, really misinformed. Clearcreek township resident DO indeed pay Springboro school tax via property tax. Clearcreek residents do not pay income tax to the city of Springboro (we pay our own Township tax via more property tax) but that has nothing to do with the schools. I live in Clearcreek and just paid my property tax last week. Looking at the tax stub right now. Here is the break down: 10% toward County, 16.6% to Township, 3.5% to JVS, 1.9% to SP Dist (whatever that is?), and (drum roll please) a whopping 68% to SPRINGBORO SCHOOLS. By the way, not all houses in Clearcreek township are >$300k.  (Mar 3, 2008 | post #2)

Yes, but it is "for the children" or "for the children's future" - who can resist that? I am thinking they are going to get that Sally Stuthers to speak as their next tactic.  (Mar 2, 2008 | post #57)

I have read that if these levies do not pass they will be seeking an tax increase in the form of income tax (as opposed to the current property tax) as soon as August. Hitting the tax payer on both fronts. Does the word leech mean anything as in the blood sucking type? They will not stop until Perrier is coming out of every drinking fountains for little Muffy and Buffy, will they?  (Mar 2, 2008 | post #54)

Yes, Mr. Williamson's information should be sent to the local media. It would be very enlightening if the general public would realize this... Springboro schools are just too tax happy and need to realize that the taxpayers are NOT their personal ATM.  (Feb 25, 2008 | post #9)
