Giuliani out; Thompson and Lieberman to speak at GOP conv...

Which person? McSame's middle class? That's not an all-that-inclusive club. And save the rhetoric. Everybody knows that's a lie - bald faced and covered with oozing sores. The Grand Ostrich Party sees green. If you've got it, your included. If you don't, get over to the Walmart and get some bootstraps on law-a-way. I hope you don't talk like this in public. You may be shocked at the reaction.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #29)

You, amybe - one of "us" - no. Although most of the attributes you describe are good things, her politics are broken - just like her party. If the Grand Ostrich Party hadn't been soooo corrupt and broken in our largest state, she wouldn't be a footnote. What needs to happen next in this country will require the skill of two brilliant people to pull off. Enough of the "old soldiers" and "guys I'd like to have a beer with". The platform of The Party promises nothing more than what has already occurred. And I keep going back to it - is it really that much better in your town?  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #139)

Obama's Greatest Accomplishment - Still married to first wife. How's come only The Party Candidates have divorce records? Isn't this in direct opposition to the whole sanctity of marriage spew? I'll bet there's nothing hypocritical going on, though. The JoJo + MooseBurger ticket still smells like the same thing you elected and re-elected tha past two times, and see how that's worked out? Don't you get it? The Party's version of "change" is changing names on door plates.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #134)

didn't say they didn't count, said she wasn't going to finish her first term. GW did. He didn't bail on Texas until his second term. It hasn't yet been 2 years, eitherIf being the Mayor of a town smaller than Hudson qualifies you to be President of the US, then we've passed over almost a million people in the past 200 years. I'm glad The Party has opened our eyes to this awful injusticeYour crew elected then re-elected George the Lesser. His military experience (including CIC of the Texas National Guard - the second largest state) was priceless and we are sorry for overlooking the job he did. And I won't ever again overlook the proud service of **** Cheney. Never, I promise. Face it - your last choices were so wrong we may just not trust your current judgment, either.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #128)

Did you use your Party Secret Decoder Ring? Gosh - it sure didn't take a lot of brainstrust on our side of the aisle to figure this stuff out. I hope nobody got hurt over there. But, let's correct a couple of things. 1. There is no Democratic "base". We all meet secretly, by core belief set, in taxpayer provided rooms in local public libraries and plot the overthrow of The Party. Then, after hitting the Starbuck's drive-thru and picking up our daughters at the abortion clinic, we fantasize about Snitty McCain. Really. And, yes - we do hate the Clinton's. It was their ability to act like the other guys and win an election that **really** turned us off. We'd like to someday be above that. Really. 2. No. He was a good looking kid from Chicago and had a compelling story. He was thrown to the wolves to see if he had the chutzpah to survive the spotlight. He did. Really. 3. Agree - but only yuse guys would find that a revelation. We knew from the beginning. Really. 4. OK - no revelation there, either. Had The Party had any other "attack tack", the choice might have been different. Really. The politics of our party is easy. We are inclusive and welcome the diversity. And just including women isn't a great definition of "diversity " anymore. Really.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #25)

I can tell you about sad - the fact that you've been so successfully indoctrinated into The Party. I'll bet you've got a decoder ring and get The Party's Secret Fax Talking Ppoints every day. Or do they just beam this awful stuff into your head? How are you better off today? Your family? Your town? Your state? YOur country?  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #20)

She's been guvernator for less than 2 years (at least George the LEsser finished his first term. The town she was mayor of had 50 employees and a $8mm a year budget. Yet, she is still more qualified than George the Lesser was when he was elected, so I can understand how everyone feels she's so qualified. Obama's CAMPAIGN employs 2500 full-timers and hundred's of thousands of volunteers. The campaign has revenue exceeding $50mm a month. That's running a business.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #102)

Tattoos, piercings have business stigma

While I wholeheartedly agree with you on how it is your right to express yourself and wholeheartedly agree that it is a shade ignorant to pre-judge someone based on piercings or body art. It isn't an employer's job to educate the world about how/why you are like you are. Hopefully, like most things, people will grow up. A "work-appropr iate appearance" can be defined many ways. If you scare people or make them uncomfortable, your appearance isn't appropriate. Sorry - you don't pay the bills, the customer does. That's just business. It cost many opportunities in my younger career being in an interracial marriage. Today, 99% wouldn't care. Every day more wouldn't notice. Welcome to the edge.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #56)

Too broad a brushstroke. Like the Palin's story, but don't like her politics. Don't know anything about him, other than the little that's been released. This choice smacked a lot of people up side the head. This is the knee-jerk reaction. Her daughter's situation will change her life forever. You hope that a parent's position didn't make her's a life of maxims that didn't let her make other choices, like any good parent frets over every day - you hope. It was hilarious to watch The Party's talking points morph this weekend, though. Most of them were just as surprised and just as unprepared.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #92)

Sorry if you thought any of the comparisons were to your postings, specifically. It was my intention to draw a comparison to the tactics of The Party and how --both sides-- can be very hypocritical. However, The Party and The Good Party Denizens tend to rely less on fact and too quickly embrace thruthiness and fear mongering. Which, without, they don't seem to have much of a platform. The Party's talking points all create circuitous arguments and are always shaded in gray. This issue (Palin's daughter) is a perfect example. Here is an obvious and headline grabbing failure of one of The Party's most visible planks and it is ignored as such. How much more naive can you be than to expect this can't happen and doesn't every day? And if that isn't enough, let's inject some hypocrisy: This incident is "OK" because it will be handled within the "family" - which is how it should be, and I don't see this as any type of political issue. And at the same time, The Party's views turn their collective backs on an equal population of young people in this predicament - those who don't have that family structure to rely on. Agree on the unity part but am cynical about resolvability. It may take generational change to fix this. At least the numbers representing the generations to shift. Weekend was too short. Oldest daughter is in town and that has been a much needed diversion.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #88)

You are sooo wrong, again. If you take off your The Good Party Denizen decoder ring for a minute: I don't think any of us "lefties " is upset because she didn't have an abortion. Making this statement shows you up as nothing but a simple-minded hate monger. Just because we feel that it is the right of a woman to decide what happens to her - not the simplistic, religiosity spewing of a white man - doesn't mean we are for or against abortion. Why is it always about power and keeping women subservient? What bugs us about the whole thing is the hypocrisy of it all. And all you Good Party Denizens can never address that part - you just spew more hateful rhetoric. You remain clueless, and now a hate monger, too.  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #63)

Don't hate us all because bloggers are basement dwelling trolls. Both parties suffer this affliction. Much like this forum, faceless, anonymous communication emboldens the creeps of all walks of life. Bottom feeding? How about the months of "Barak Hussein Obama" when most of The Party Denizens don't even know their own candidates middle name. And, let us not forget the word "appeaser " and comparing Obama's positions (most of which eerily resemble current administration policies) to some sort of Nazi sympathizer. Sick stuff. But The Loyal Party Denizens seem much more able to dish it out than take it. Notice how some of the big names in pseudo-conservativ e blather are missing from this discussion. BTW - how was your weekend?  (Sep 2, 2008 | post #59)

Military might is not enough

Speaking of fact based: http://www.washing tonpost.com/wp-dyn /content/article/2 008/03/27/AR200803 2703145.html That bastion of liberalness, The Washington Post, didn't seem to draw the same conclusion.
