Gilbert just taked about tactics and the fact that the pistons no longer have a low post player...from an offensive stand point, sheed and mc dyess play in front of the rim, so far away from it. With c webb you have one more option kind of a "point center", who can score and deliver to, for the outside player. You have more balance at the offensive end, and even if c webb is slow now, he still got game. Gilbert is not stupid and you, you should think a little bit before writing, steve  (Oct 31, 2007 | post #3)

Stuckey figures to make impact

12pts a game, with class attitude, plus five dishes, and a good D, and smart plays. An all star within 5 years  (Oct 9, 2007 | post #3)

Attack Mode: Rookies Stuckey, Afflalo bring new energy in...

it s time to make a bet, so let me say what do you think guys about that : 2008 nba champs: detroit pistons, beating the suns 4-3 regular season mvp : Nowitski again best individual player ; kobe (35pts a game) nba finals mvp : chauncey (what a D against nash!) the celt's ; 50victories plateau, eastern semi finals (losing against detroit) rookie of the year ; durant ; stuckey in the top five. oh one more thing: the cavs won' t exist this year, they re not good enough to repeat their last year exploit.  (Oct 9, 2007 | post #1)

Mejia: Don't write off the Pistons

I totally agree with you larson... We can see the last championiship teams (the bulls, the spurs are the best example) were teams with a lot of talent of course, but with a fantastic chemestry.... Each of the players in those teams knew exactly what they had to do (with role players knowing what they can do and what they can't), and at the end of the game, jordan and duncan finished the work.... With detroit we have a team executing so well during the game at both ends of the floor, exept for the last play of the game...who's gonna shoot the ball??? chauncey? rip? sheed? and why not prince? The result of this situation is that mentally the guys are not"ready " to take over at the end of the game...no one in this team is gonna say loudly : ok guy give me the ball and i'm gonna give you the victory" We are full of very good players, it"s our strenght but it's our weakness too. In fact, we don't have a "chief". .. For those who knows what basketball is all about, the pistons are not flashy, but beautifull to watch... Kobe, with his maturity, and his will to win, would fit so well with the pistons...a great defender, a clutch player, and a great scorer, and a smart guy at the offensive end. I'm sure it would be a wonderfull story for him to come in detroit, and the fans would definetly fall in love with him....go detroit! Congratulation joe d for the adjustement you have done this summer : great rookies, a beautifull year is about to come again!!!!!  (Sep 24, 2007 | post #2)

Webber not sure where he'll end up

It's not a done deal yet.....C webb is an emotional person and his heart belongs to detroit.....i really believe he will stay...for many reasons : detroit and dallas will be the same calibre type of team with only one goal : the ring, so from a team stand point he has no interest to go to dallas; and the western conference is still the hardest one cause it s easier to beat miami or boston to reach the finals than san antonio or phoenix....And finally chris webber doesn t care about the money....so the only reason for him to go to dallas would be joe dumars refuse to resign c webb....  (Aug 8, 2007 | post #23)

Webber not sure where he'll end up

Hummm.....I'm okay, chauncey is getting a bit old now, as we saw during the playoffs, but the rookie point guard stuckey is arriving at the perfect time...i guess chauncey will play maybe 32 minutes per game, and he will be in a good shape for the begining of the playoffs.. I agree when you said that chris wants a ring, but it's obvious too, that he knows he no longer be a franchise player....when you see the way he plays last season, he is very unselfish, and he don't want to be "the man"... Of course, the mavs can work for him too, a place where he can be the starting center..why not?  (Jul 26, 2007 | post #14)

I can't believe what I read!! Steve and Tmacin you cannot be that far away from the truth!! First of all c webb don't care about the money : He went throught a lot of injuries, and during his entire career he showed commitment and courage to still be in this league despite injuries at the shoulders, knees, etc...He just loves this game man! So he won't get a lot of money where ever he will play now: an the fact that detroit is one of the elite team of this league, plus the fact that he is a detroit native will make c webb back next year as a piston....  (Jul 26, 2007 | post #11)
