Northwest Flight Attendants Reject Cuts
I hate to say it but it is TRUE! I have a 1988 Mercedes-Benz SL class a birthday gift from my husband, It is in mint condition. I drive it around town and my days off the Volvo is now the airport car and beast of burden. Back in '96 my now deceased husband bought me a monster S Class and I HATED it. Too big too many buttons and options etc. I did'nt want to say I hated it. So I drove it a little then I started to gradually go back my little SL it got better mileage, was easier to park and I still like it's style better than ANY new car I could have. My husband got the hint and started driving the S Class himself. Until he died in fact. The only improvement I have made was a CD player. Everything else is original. I am as guilty as anyone of loving a hunk of steel. (Thursday Jul 3 | post #13583)

I do LOVE that. After all we are not here to judge. That is left to higher powers. I think many forget that. Thank you for sharing. (Thursday Jul 3 | post #13582)
Thank you ChicagoFlyer! That made my day! Years ago I had them on a flight to LAX they were going to make a commercial. They were great friends besides working together. They were also very gracious, just a joy to be around. Amazing how much foreshadowing there was in that. I showed the clip to my nephew and he swore that air craft set looks like a mock up United still used for recurrent training. Thank you again! (Thursday Jul 3 | post #202)
Northwest Flight Attendants Reject Cuts
Had a wreck in my old Mercury station wagon a while back. I got T-Boned (no offense to TBone!) Talk about leaving a carbon foot print, as they are talking about! I have never seen so much faux wood panelling go flying across in all directions of a 4 way intersection. I think it got more in salvage for it's weight than anything else. Then I got to wheel and deal my way into another car and that was just a pain in my a$$. Ended up getting a used Volvo Station Wagon. I got a good deal, but I was not really interested in buying another car. (Thursday Jul 3 | post #13577)
Oh no dear let him show up at the airport to find this out. It makes for an interesting jumpseat discussion. Saw it last year on a Vegas over night, which I traded into for a friend. A "lady" showed up at the US Airways counter was told she was a "no fly" pitched a fit. Tried to buy a walk up ticket on American, got the same thing and then attempting to on Southwest when Airport security finally got a hold of her! She was wiggling, buckling around and trying to get out of their hold and used every profanity in the book and a few I have never heard. We walked in at the latter part and I asked a Customer Service Agent what the chaos was and he told me. It made interesting viewing. Looked like something out of one of those dramatic hispanic soap operas. I think they call them "novellas ". It was quite amusing. I have always wondered what became of her..... I am not sure WHY I am EVEN addressing this but I do have to say, by your writting, you seem like the most MISERABLE, judgemental, egotistical, reprobate, I have read in a long time. Such a insufferable individual you are. Get therapy or please drive, or stop venting on these blogs. (Tuesday Jul 1 | post #191)
Oh my we do have some issues don't we? First off I am a Flight Attendant and if a Pilot can help me by gaining the attention and confidence of a UM for just a few moments while I verify their paper work it is welcome. As long as they are not telling me how to do my job. I could care less since I have no skill or desire to fly an aircraft. You however, sound a little like you might have been a pilot wanna-be. Please do direct your anger elsewhere it is so unappreciated here. (Monday Jun 30 | post #21)
Airline Service "Dismal" According To Passengers
Dear, Southwest is more of an exception than a rule in the aviation world, and I mean that in the best sense. Thanks to a great deal of foresight by it's founders. However I will say like ANYPLACE that employs people at times people who are not a right match for a management position get one and send a message that is not the vision of the company. Fortunately at Southwest they do not let these people stay where they are very long. I have never said ANYTHING bad about Southwest, never will, my niece is retired from there and my nephew is still there, and loves it. (Sunday Jun 29 | post #155)
Airline Service "Dismal" According To Passengers
To the contrary I LOVE my customers and give them the respect I would ANYONE else in public GIVEN the chance. There are times when a passenger goes off the edge and I just let them vent and then offer them some water. It is customer service! However, management at EVERY air carrier does promote a certain amount of animosity they use it as a control factor and bargaining chips and it does not matter if you are doing your job or not. I have seen Flight Attendants who NEVER did their job were horrible to the passengers and did not not get so much as a "talk". Then another comes on with a questionable nail color, I kid you not and she is practically drug off the aircraft. It happens at them all it is part of the structure, and there will always be people put in charge that should not be, including upper management. It is just a fact of the business world and the politics that go along with it. I just plug along doing the best job I can and walk away feeling good about it. Work is almost like a vacation to me to get away. (Sunday Jun 29 | post #148)

Airline Service "Dismal" According To Passengers
As I have heard over the years in the last row of coach: Flight Attendant:"Wo uld you like the meatloaf today?" Passenger:"Wh at are my choices?" Flight Attendant:"So rry, to eat or not eat. Watch your elbows watch your knees! Meals on wheels coming through!" One summer the meal plan rotation with catering had a questionable "cabbage roll" on the menu. Besides stinking up the cabin with the smell of cabbage cooking you then had the backlash of the effects of eating cabbage at 30,000 feet or above and the complaints from all of the above. I was NEVER so glad to see that meal go. Over all they are good but there have been some bad choices that gave airline food it's current reputation. There was also the time when a customer who purchased two seats had eaten his two meals asked me if we had anymore left over. He was VERY upset and still hungry. He stated those little plates are less than a lunchable. (Monday Jun 23 | post #110)
Oil prices continue to take toll on Sun Country
Such a shame I flew SunCountry a while back on a short little vacation. Overall a very nice product, they offer. Nice planes, nice staff. Wonderful routes for vacations. If you do not have long legs the seating is just fine, if you do have long legs it is a little misserable. I hate so see anyone loose a job these days, not the best time to be looking for a job. I hope they beat the odds. I also hate to see MSP loose another carrier. (Thursday Jun 19 | post #7)
Pilot Says He Smelled Smoke On Plane
I smelled smoke in my room just a moment ago. I tried to make popcorn without having my cheaters on! I set the microwave on 35 minutes, not 3.5! I smelled smoke and thought I was having a stroke before I finished my cocktail! (Thursday Jun 19 | post #3)
United expects to spend $3.5 billion more on fuel
I have to agree. I just talked to a friend of mine there and she says she is not sure what to expect after September. In the meantime she is taking 30 day leave. It does not look good. I am sure however, that the hard working executives have already secured new positions at other companies, maybe Halliburton, or several oil companies. (Thursday Jun 19 | post #15)

Only good thing to come of this? I won't see that nasty 737-500 anymore. (Thursday Jun 19 | post #29)
