Bush is a hero

It does not matter if it is the duty of the government or not. Just like a fire department can be capitalist or socialist.... Judt like that fire department in Tennessee.  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #157014)

What the 2012 election taught us

I prefer an opt out option with those opting out being allowed to die if they can not pay. This not paying but getting care anyway is just plain wrong for those able to pay.  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #5096)

50,000,000 people out of work so your response is people don't want to work. Typical Republican. I have been to several foreign countries during my time in the military and most men are the same all over the world. They just want a respectable job that allows them to support their family. That is true in the US as well. This is a long term problem brought about by globalization, technology, the aging of America among others. Your platitudes will not solve the problem. You are aptly named, if you got your way America would be a lost cause.  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #5095)

What, you don't think Obama can get reelected again? Not at all Chris, my point was that they all make promises, even Romney did. But today's Republicans are again talking about how tax cuts create jobs. Is it wrong to point out the times they have not. Heck, even Obama gave tax cuts (ask Bobin) to include some of his own. How has his job creation been? What was that definition of insanity? Doing the same thing (tax cuts) over and over expecting a different result?  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #156969)

My mistake, are you saying there were not quote marks with Pelosi's name mentioned? Pelosi like most politicians had a lot of "takes" on Obamacare as well as many other policies. I tend to neither agree now disagree with the vast majority of them. In the context of what she was saying it could be better put with "If you have a disability or illness that keeps you working for insurance, under Obamacare you will be able to get insurance if you are working for an employer that provides insurance or not." People with pre-existing conditions will be able to quit their current job and start their own business whatever that might be without fear of losing coverage. It is my onw personal property not to quit any job until I have other income in line. Now in the scheme of things, this person is working and quits. Another person who was not working now gets their job. What has been the cost to the taxpayer?  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #5071)

The President with all his authority is paid less than a low level executive at a major corporation. that is a fact.  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #728)

No, it is your ignorance that is being shown. Go back to the original statement about the intrusion of government and lawsuits. Further, you are showing recent percentages of lawyers when most tort law dates back to our founding. So how many of our original Congress were lawyers? In fact, tort law has had more limits imposed on it in various states (mostly individuals against corporations) than it has been expanded since about 2000. I think we could save a fortune if we made tort suits between corporsations illegal. That is where most of the big tort cases are, between corporations.  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #5060)

Sure about the Republican comment I made. Now here is what Pelosi actually said: "We see it as an entrepreneurial bill, a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care." Why is there a difference between what you say she said and what I say she said? http://hotair.com/ archives/2010/05/1 5/pelosi-hey-quit- your-job-well-pay- for-your-health-co verage/ Perhaps it could be because your sources "interpretted " what she said? I see it as nothing more than the American encouragement to persue your dreams. As I tell my own children however, while you persue your dreams, you still have to live.  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #5059)

Funny,I am still waiting for things bush spoke of in 2000. Trickle Down: Bush gave massive tax cuts. They did not result in massive job creation nor did they result in higher than average economic growth. In fact, the Clinton years with higher taxes created about 700% moe jobs and also had a better GDP growth. What happened?  (Dec 5, 2012 | post #156959)
