Twinkie, Twinkie, little star

Brutal!!! The Canadian take...and I thought they were supposed to be nice up there. Well, we Emporians have their ice scrapers and squeegees now, so they better reign in that snarkiness a notch..while we "loosen our belts a notch."  (Aug 6, 2013 | post #1)

Emporia welcomes back Hostess factory with Twinkie Festival

Nice write-up for a weird "festival. " Glad they acknowledged Mary Ann's creative song!  (Aug 6, 2013 | post #1)

Hopkins Acquires Auto Squeegee Maker Mallory

Good deal! An E-town industry expanding and growing, being the one doing the buying, rather than being bought out & shut down.  (Aug 6, 2013 | post #1)

Twinkie Jobs Emporia

Hahahahahahahaha.. ..."will work for peanuts"..... ...unless those peanuts are actually peanuts & not almonds: "10.00 an hour. that's insane" Amazing how many people don't actually mean what they say.  (Aug 6, 2013 | post #5)

Yeah, I wondered what happened to the other thread...I'm an editor here and I can't remove threads, so I'm not sure how that happened. I have been pondering what key words we can type with this guys name that will automatically appear in a web-search of the name, but haven't acted on it yet. Also, I'm a bit offended that my posts, which I thought were brilliant, disappeared with that other thread. Hmmmph!  (May 15, 2013 | post #24)

Anyone else think that Terry Lambert lives in Los Angeles and thinks very highly of himself so he's attempting an infomercial-type forum resume, posing as different posters.....all from the same IP address. Maybe trying to get out of the exotic dance business?? Terry, you're annoying Emporia from afar. I'd guess you did during your time here too. Don't make me post the definition of "narcissist " again.  (May 14, 2013 | post #22)

Is this about the guy who came and almost killed an already crippled county-funded hospital and then abandoned ship, leaving it for someone else to save when it proved to be a failure? If so, I have some choice words for him about how he sees fit to spend taxpayer funds and the number of Emporians he put out of work. Just sayin'.  (Apr 27, 2013 | post #40)

Hahahaha, yeah, because the Emporia KS chapter of any association is such a big deal that only geniuses and business giants are recognized. Please.  (Apr 27, 2013 | post #39)

Narcissistic personality disorder Definition By Mayo Clinic staff Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. Those with narcissistic personality disorder believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism. Narcissistic personality disorder is one of several types of personality disorders. Personality disorders are conditions in which people have traits that cause them to feel and behave in socially distressing ways, limiting their ability to function in relationships and in other areas of their life, such as work or school. Narcissistic personality disorder treatment is centered around psychotherapy. http://www.mayocli nic.com/health/nar cissistic-personal ity-disorder/DS006 52  (Apr 25, 2013 | post #36)

Yeah, yeah, yeah....this weird infomercial has definitely over-sold a mediocre product. I'm more interested in the question, "Who is John Galt?"  (Apr 24, 2013 | post #30)

Do We Need A Recycling Program Or Jobs? Unemployment Lyo...

All decisions the city commissioners make should take into account the best ways to help the most citizens. Without jobs here, recycling won't matter because there won't be a town. ESU will fade into the annals of history along with the rest of our heritage without jobs to keep it all alive. Private sector jobs need to be encouraged, provided for and taken into account at every turn around here, including in recycling....becau se as soon as all we have are government-provide d jobs - in the schools, at the college, at the county hospital and in the city depts---we're done. Of course, then the local environment and resources won't be a concern, will they? It'll be a bigger concern in the urban areas that will become more crowded as people flock to them in the hunt for jobs, but out here in the boonies, it'll all be good.  (Apr 23, 2013 | post #8)

Do We Need A Recycling Program Or Jobs? Unemployment Lyo...

No, we do not. The current recycling collection small business owner should sell her business as a private enterprise and allow it to provide non-tax-funded job(s). I recycle and I have no interest in paying for it, privately or otherwise. Ayn Rand warned us about this decades ago, but we the people of the United States of America, in our arrogance and ignorance, did not heed the warning.  (Apr 12, 2013 | post #2)
