Classic Rock..B98.5 or The Monster ?

Bee Broadcasting does not own the Monster. Period. I know this probably because I advertise on most stations and know them pretty well. Anyway, what was the question? Oh yeah, classic rock. To me it's any rock music from sixties and seventies. Motown and disco not included, sorry. Another good station is 105.1, KOOL, owned by Bee.  (Nov 27, 2008 | post #14)

Kalispell man killed in crash

I could add to that but I won't. Let him rest in peace and let his family get on with their lives. He was my friend but I learned not to get too involved. 'Nuff said.  (Oct 6, 2008 | post #8)

Carrie, there was no conviction in the case you refer to, and it was not a Montessori School per se. How many day care facilities are targeted for such false accusations? Lots of them. Kalispell's actual Montessori schools are awesome. They have never been accused of wrongdoing, you are completely off base. Jacqui, it's funny how few people compare Montana and Scotland. If there was a wee more summer like weather there I think I would even prefer it. I was there from Sept. 1978 to July of 1980. I loved everything about it except the amount of rainfall. Where in Scotland are you? I was in the Dunoon area. Yup. The US Navy sub base...  (Jun 30, 2008 | post #14)

Wisconsin man killed in crash near Flathead Lake

Once you figure out how people drive around here, you will never trust your life to a traffic signal. That light is merely a suggestion. Look both ways before entering an intersection.  (Jun 30, 2008 | post #1)

Weird

Luxury Spring Water Only $100 a Bottle

I can top that. A regular customer at a bar I used to frequent in Myrtle Beach insisted his drinks contain ice cubes made of Perrier Water. They kept a couple trays of it for him in the freezer. People are just too silly sometimes.  (Jun 29, 2008 | post #17)

Luxury Spring Water Only $100 a Bottle

I know where I can get water recently melted out of glaciers. It's been out of the ecosystem for millions of years. How much would you pay for a bottle of that?  (Jun 29, 2008 | post #16)

Poll: Schools not properly preparing kids for life

Yes we parents have to teach our kids. You can't make someone else do it, especially public systems that lack funding and have no authority to reprimand students. The future is rather grim, I fear. The American way of life has been sold out to the Chinese. The oil situation is changing our habits, and increasing our cost of living since we did not develop efficient transportation when we should have. Our kids' education is key to solving these problems. This is no time to encourage or allow mediocrity and apathy. We send our kids to private school. It's expensive, and don't think we can afford it! It is budgeted in. It's "instead of" a luxury home or nice new cars. And of course on top of that we pay our share of taxes which pay for the public schools we (personally) don't need. But it's worth it. Our kids will succeed. Because to make it in America now and even more so in the future you better be rich.  (Jun 29, 2008 | post #251)

Prussian Blue racist band

Who cares? Hopefully they moved far away. We don't need that crap around here. They caused a ruckus here for a while and then the media reported nothing further that I know of.  (Jun 29, 2008 | post #4)

Forgot to mention, Sarah, when you get here you have an incredible selection to choose from in the way of housing. The most radical change in the last twenty year. There are numerous brand new subdivisions packed with empty new homes you can get into with zero down on a variable rate and payments just slightly higher than approved borrowers can afford. Suddenly there's a for sale sign in the yard of at least one home in nearly every downtown area block, too. In 1991 you had to get on a waiting list just to rent something, now it's no problem if you want to go that route. Things have changed. A realtor friend and I were talking just today about the percentage of local people who are native Montanans, like she and I. She's pretty sure the Kalispell area is now about 15 percent Montanan. Yes, things really have changed!  (Jun 25, 2008 | post #9)

Wow, John, are you up on the meth problem we have here? And the drug abuse situation in high schools? Speaking of schools, what overall grade did Montana's schools get last year and how did we rank nationwide? Try a "D minus" and 47th. What a huge difference since we were kids! Last I heard, domestic abuse complaints accounted for ninety percent of law enforcement activity. We have the worst DUI per capita rate in the nation. Not to detract from the beauty of our town or discourage foreigners from moving in. People who want to come here to work for a living are highly encouraged to, in fact please apply at my store if you are a good worker with decent morals and ethics. We don't start any position at minimum wage, never did. By the way, ALL items consumed here are trucked in. Yes there are always some medical-related jobs available. Check out the wages there. My sister in law nearly doubled her income by moving from here to Utah. Yes, Sarah, it's great here, compared to any other place I've lived. Come and see. Enjoy the scenery, take in the beauty, have some fun and get the tattoos.  (Jun 25, 2008 | post #8)

By coincidence, Sarah from AR has a similar thread going here. I responded to her questions, check it out there. It's different here and we prefer it stay that way, so we get a little upset at how the place is getting so "californicat ed". Kalispell is a working class town, being invaded by people who don't have to work, or can't, or won't, if you know what I mean. Any service related business does well, when they can get enough help to do the job. Schools are terrible, read more in my post to Sarah. Truck driving is a popular occupation here. As I said to Sarah, come and take a look.  (Jun 17, 2008 | post #3)

Hi Sarah, come up and take a look. There is plenty of work up here, but what you call "good jobs" aren't real common, in my experience here. You didn't mention what your husband could do for a living. You can live OK on a double income, but that means you need daycare. Which I don't recommend, but I have old fashioned ethics regarding raising children... The cost of living is rather high here. The area is growing faster than it can handle, and has lots of people upset. Things have radically changed in the last twenty years! We don't have much to offer in the way of tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, violence, gangs, crime, and the like. But anything can happen. We have long but mild (for Montana) winters and short, hot summers. We can have flooding and forest fires. Lots of suicide, car crashing, drinking, meth, and domestic abuse. Just so you know. Our public school system is horrible, if you love your child and care about her future you'll want to be a part of the great Montessori system here. We have lots of fun here, too, for those who can afford it. Come and see.  (Jun 17, 2008 | post #3)

Negligent homicide trial starts Monday in Kalispell

Well the results are in. Probably not too happy with it, huh Karen? I can only guess the jury heard a lot more than we did, whether it was fact or BS doesn't matter now.  (Jun 14, 2008 | post #3)

Negligent homicide trial starts Monday in Kalispell

Welcome to Montana Justice. It isn't about the truth. And it's a game. It helps to have money to play it, but what works best is courtroom theatrics and good lies. Meanwhile, you have to be patient and hope the outcome will be fair.  (Jun 10, 2008 | post #2)

US accused of holding terror suspects on prison ships
