Hawaii Superferry's arrival stays calm

Wow... hats off to you Dead for posting that. Both the article and the comment.  (Dec 15, 2007 | post #750)

But yet more and more people still come to Honolulu over Maui or Kauai. Oahu still provies the largest revenue for all the islands as far as tourist dollars go. They have the largest amounts of tourists yearly. What Maui and Kauai have are the more expensive tourist coming to the higher priced hotels. Do you really think it's the aina that they're going there for? You think the rich celebs truly care about the view? Or is it the fact that hardly anyone lives there compared to Oahu. Seems that exclusivity is what they're paying for. Not the view.  (Dec 15, 2007 | post #749)

Funny how you chose to only include half my quote. You chose to keep out the part that I don't really feel that way. NIce try though. Just shows that you can't win an argument without being stupid. As far as Hawaii's plans not including me? Only time will tell. Personally I got the money to keep me and my family secure.  (Dec 15, 2007 | post #748)

No other reason for me to visit Kauai but visit relatives. Nothing else different there. Just like Oahu but more country. But if i just want that I'll go to north side...  (Dec 15, 2007 | post #747)

Just out of curiosity. What part of the environment do you feel you are protecting? What part of the land is being saved by keeping HSF away? What part of the environment are you saving by allowing large developments, and (as one newspaper called it) "rich playgroud" developments to be built. These are the reasons that environmental concerns regarding HSF are not being taken seriously. Most of the arguments are quickly dismissed due to the hypocritical nature of the argument. But if you do have a true factual basis I would like to hear it.  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #564)

I partially agree with you on that point maui gal. Drivers should ALWAYS yield to a pedestrian in the road for obvious reasons. The problem seems to be that pedestrians take that thought way to literally. People seem to have forgotten the rule of "look both ways before crossing". I have literally pulled back dozens of people who don't even look to the left when stepping out into the street. So I think that argument goes both ways. Isn't there currently a law that say drivers must not enter a crosswalk if someone is the crosswalk on their half of the road? Is this just for Oahu? Or is it a state law? Whatever the case it seems to have given pedestrains a false sense of protection because ever since that law went into effect, I have seen more people just stepping off curbs without looking.  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #561)

God I wish this was real.... LOL! This is fake isn't it? Please tell me it is! If it's not then it would be even better, but nothing could possibly end that well could it?  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #555)

But he's funny as hell! Nah you probably right kaimana. I been on opposite sides of the fence with you for most of this debate but I'll agree with you here. I'll do it your way this time. Wow, agreeing on something. Kinda scary eh? Hahaha  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #552)

I'm not acting like a mediator. I'm just making a statement. you guys wanna fight it out on here that's fine. That's your right to do so. But I also have the right to denounce things i disagree with, or side with thing s that I do agree with. Isn't that exactly what you're doing? I don't have to agree with your methods, but that doesn't make me your enemy. Thing is I refuse to be as hypocritical as Ben. If I'm going to denouce him for making violent threats, I have to denounce making violent threats in return. Can't have it for just one side. As far as me exchanging jabs? I have yet to promote violence except that in self defense.  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #549)

I never said that you did. It was just an observation. Once again good try. You still lose this argument.  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #545)

Local people were here LOOOOONG b4 you were. By your own logic, we have more of a right to the islands than you. Therefore you should pack up and leave. I don't really feel this way. Just wanted to show the stupidity of your argument. NEXT!  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #537)

Don't matter though. If it happens, deal with it then. Threating violence with violence doesn't help any situation. A threat in response with a threat doesn't make it right. You gonna act in self defense in real life? That's fine. But for two guys to exchange bravado in the form of threats made on the internet is just wrong. It does nothing to advance the conversation, nor does it solve any of the current problems.  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #529)

I love this! You call Oahu people greedy and selfish... just after talking about you bought a two million dollar place to keep everyone away, and how you don't want anyone to come. All you do is talk in circles. I almost feel bad shooting holes in all his logic. I shouldn't be arguing with someone with such a low intelligence. AH... it's fun. Keep bringing it Ben! This is hilarious! What other kinds of rhetoric and lies are you gonna pull out?  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #526)

Once again. more proof that you care only about yourself and how much of a jerk you truly are. No wonder no one will side with you here...  (Dec 14, 2007 | post #521)
