Subway project fires up Dominican Republic

LOL! You just showed your bias. I never called out Pepe and GW because they're Dominicans. Read my posts. You brought up Haiti in a post that's totally DR-related. Am I to assume that I can't comment on "world" issues? I may spend more time in DR than you. Don't ever assume that you know people; I'm not a separatist. To answer your question about the Metro. My position has somewhat changed due to my last experience in Santo-Domingo in Dec; Traffic has become worse. I'm all for bringing a city into modern times, however, I'm concerned about the unnecessary neglect of a lot of Dominican citizens. Also, if you re-read my initial post, I commented on Corruption issues that will undoubtedly come-up. I sincerely hope that this project succeeds, however, I'm a Humanitarian and put people first.  (Feb 4, 2008 | post #26)

Anti-Haitian Bias Rooted in Dominican History

Are you going to Club l'infini to hang out with the "beautiful " people? I envy you. I have too much work to do, otherwise, I would be right in front of the palace( my spot) with my crew.  (Feb 1, 2008 | post #6235)

23 dead in flood-ravaged Haitian town

As you walk through life wondering why you are miserable, jealous and unproductive, I hope that you do some reflection and it will become clear.  (Oct 15, 2007 | post #5)

Haiti to study creation of force to replace UN peacekeepers

Who understands the psyche of a criminal more than a criminal? It may work. Just put ankle bracelets on them. But seriously. Slim: remind me again of the role of an Armed forces? Besides the people, I'm not aware of anything else in Haiti that needs protection. Gold? Oil maybe? Our independence?  (Oct 12, 2007 | post #2)

Haitians debate whether to restore their national army -- South...

What a lot of these officials don't want to accept is that they too have a "macoute " mentality. A skunk without his black and white "uniform " is still a skunk. (don't mean to be hard on skunks)LOL.  (Oct 11, 2007 | post #22)

It would be progressive if only they saw it that way. It's pathetic to live your life in misery and not MIND your own business.  (Oct 11, 2007 | post #99)

In that case, recruitment is very important. A lot of things have to be taken into account such as Education, Family background, as well as Psychological tests and training with emphasis to SERVE. More importantly, the atmospere of the country has to be one of Progress and Accountability.  (Oct 11, 2007 | post #19)

I've been gone for a few days and missed all of this conversation. All have good points ,but Haiti having an army scares the crap out of me. I can't get the images of people getting arrested left and right, beating with sticks by soldiers out of my mind. Cedras' smug face pops into my head all the time. Slim, You are part of an army that believes in country, not profit__at least from a soldier's perspective.  (Oct 11, 2007 | post #17)

What the author said was St. Domingue___what is now modern-day Haiti. There's nothing incorrect about that.  (Oct 8, 2007 | post #21)

All of this coming from someone who can't write__ You must. Don't say that it's a typo. Only moronic people are quick to judge and insult.  (Oct 8, 2007 | post #20)
