Wow. Lots of interest in this pick.  (Jun 27, 2009 | post #1)

What he said. And agree with the name, too.  (Jun 2, 2009 | post #115)

Potvin gone; Lindsay to TV

They already had the worst broadcast team in the NHL. Now that they've gone and canned the only talented member of it (and the only member of the organization with a resume to be proud of), It just gets worse. But would anyone be watching anyway?  (May 8, 2009 | post #1)

As usual, more nonsense and no effort at thoughtful counterpoint from the idiot from Pompano. You're a bore no matter how many names you feel you need to use.  (Apr 17, 2009 | post #127)

I can assume by lack of response that no one disagrees with any of my recent comments for a change? Well, good, that's settled. Glad you've seen the light.  (Apr 16, 2009 | post #124)

Heck, Potvin. Here's another way to look at it. I'm a skydiving instructor. I teach and take people for tandem skydives and such. How long of a career would I have if, like your trial lawyer, I was only successful half the time? Would you jump with me if I only saved 1/2 my students? Would failing just half my students mean I was not successful some of the time?  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #101)

Yes! If he's no more effective for his clients than a coin-flip he IS a failure. Would you hire an attorney who loses half his cases? Or, to use another profession you are fond of -- hire a surgeon who kills half his patients? I sure as hell wouldn't. Now - quit calling others "liars" and "delusional " as you are obviously just reflecting your own personality traits. Let us agree that, YES, the panther's made an improvement this year over the past couple years. Let us also agree to disagree that this improvement was meaningless; and that this season was - in spite of being an improvement - still a failure. A failure to meet the Panther's own much advertised "Playoff Promise" is indeed a failure by any name. And let us also agree to disagree that all the Panther's other failures this year -- such as its failure to either sign or convert its sole remaining franchise player into beneficial assets -- are only failures in the minds of the rational; and thus you are accepted from feeling that way. And further, let us agree to disagree that it is still possible to be a fan of the franchise without constantly performing fellatio on every member of senior membership by way of thanking them for TWELVE WHOLE SEASONS without any measure of what most of us consider the true beginnings of NHL success - a playoff series win. In fact, this franchise has had only two opportunities in the past twelve seasons to meet that measure -- and they have a record of 1-9 in playoff games during that period. 1 Lousy (Game) Win in TWELVE WHOLE SEASONS. And that 1 win (which of course meant little since it led to a playoff series LOSS) was THIRTEEN YEARS AGO. It's been NINE YEARS since the franchise even played in a playoff game (and they went 0-4 in that Series). But don't worry folks, Potvin tells us we're improving - so the Stanley Cup must be just around the corner!  (Apr 15, 2009 | post #99)

Florida Panthers have a busy offseason to-do list

Right. But the NHL has these new guys each year called "Rookies ". Have you heard of them? The league has the same number of roster spots year to year. For every rookie that earns a spot, another player is cast off ... or "retires ". There are an awful lot more rookies each year than honorable retirements (guys who played a full career of a decade or two, or maybe a superstar in his prime retiring due to injury). There is certainly NOT a buyer for every seller.  (Apr 14, 2009 | post #42)

8 Straight seasons without a playoff game. 11 Straight seasons without a playoff game win. 12 Straight seasons without a playoff series win. Golly gee guys, I think Louie's right. We are SO quick to judge around here!  (Apr 14, 2009 | post #46)
