Should the US be a strong ally to Israel?
Name calling only tells me how uneducated you are on this subject. I am against murder, especially genocide. How does that me a traitor? Why don't you explain your bold statement a little better for me. I feel a traitor is someone who commits crimes against our constitution, like so many of our government officials have. You want to call someone a traitor go to Washington D.C. You'll have plenty of people to point your finger at there. So many throughout history have waged wars and murdered millions all under the name of God. Yet the 10 commandments say thou shalt not kill. Where does it say thou shalt not kill except in times of war or in my name you may kill? Evil men in this world have used religion as an excuse to kill. Bad men cause wars because they want more power or more land to control. To get people to go along with their war they would use religion as an excuse. Kind of like how Bush used the weapons of mass destruction lie to convince Americans to go along with the Iraqi occupation. (41 min ago | post #17)
Should the US be a strong ally to Israel?
How would you feel if one day you were told that you had to leave your home and move to the slums because someone decided to give the Native Americans back their land. How would you feel if you were not allowed to attend your church anymore because it's on the Native Americans' land and that your daughters were not allowed to attend school anymore? How would you feel if your friends and family were murdered or arrested for no good reason in front of your children and that every time you finally settle down into a new home you were told you had to move again because they were going to bulldoze your house down again for the fifth time because they are giving the Native Americans more land. And everyone in the world is ok with this because someone's religious text says that it is the Native American's land and they deserve to have it back. And the media never tells your side of the story. Only the Native American's side. How would you feel? Of course the Palestinians are mad and of course some of them resort to violence. Some of the Palestinians families have been living in the same villages since the time of Christ. Yet they are told they have to leave their village because someone else's religion and someones else's government says it's the right thing to do. Because a Jew from American or England deserves to live on your family's land more than you do. Palestinians are not just Muslims by the way. They have different religions. Yes most of them are Muslim but not all. I have provided a link at the bottom to show the percentages of different religions. By the way 100,000 of them are Christians. (25,000 are Catholic, 50,000 are Greek orthodox, 25,000 are Protestants.) And they all live amongst the Muslims pretty well. Guess the Muslims don't hate everyone after all. LOL http://lexicorient .com/e.o/palestine _4.htm Palestinians are always trying to work out some kind of agreement with the Israeli government but the Israeli government just wants them to all go away and die in their little shacks. They have lost their jobs and their economy. Of course they are mad. I would be too. I have researched this subject quite a bit. I have talked to a young woman from Palestine about this subject as well. I have watched several documentaries about the Israeli occupation. I will listen to what the corporate owned media has to say about this subject as well. And they will only talk about a Palestinian suicide bomber or an Israeli citizen being killed. They never tell you what the Israeli government does to them. You have to hear both sides of the story before you can make an educated decision. If you research this subject just a little you may understand why I am so angry about the genocide of the Palestinian. (14 hrs ago | post #15)
Should the US be a strong ally to Israel?
Let me put it this way. Do you trust our government? Most of you might say no. Israel's government is pretty much controlled by the United States. Yet no one seems to have a problem with the Israeli government. Every time I mention something their government has done everyone jumps in to defend the country of Israel. So, once again I will repeat. I support Israel and it's people. I do not support it's government. Anything negative I have to say will always be about it's government and the army that is under the control of it's government. If you were to ask a Jew living in Jerusalem how they felt about the way the Palestinians are treated, most will tell you they don't agree with it and that much of it is provoked by the Israeli government. This is the same situation with America and it's people. When you ask a person from another country, and I have several friends around the world I have asked this to, do they hate Americans? They will say that they do not hate Americans. They don't like our government. They don't understand why us Americans let our government do the things that it does. So for the few that do hate Americans it is usually because they are mad that we don't stand up to our government. I hope everyone understands a little better where I am coming from. Should the US be a strong ally to Israel?
The point I was trying to make is that Israel is small and doesn't have the starvation like some African countries. I was trying to show how a country so small without most third world problems gets more aid from our government than the entire continent of Africa. Why should we be funding the entire army of Israel? We can't even take care of our own here in this country. You people are so brainwashed by the corporate owned media it isn't funny. Well, the Dow Jones was a roller coaster ride today. Dropping 800 points and going below 10,000. Fortunately it recovered some but I will bet money we will see much worse problems tomorrow. Dow recovers to close down 370 after plunging 800 http://us.rd.yahoo .com/dailynews/rss /topstories/*http: //news.yahoo.com/s /ap/20081006/ap_on _bi_st_ma_re/wall_ street Of course the bailout wasn't the quick fix that is was supposed to be and now Bush is saying it will take some time for the bailout to work things out. Bush says rescue plan will take some time to work http://us.rd.yahoo .com/dailynews/rss /topstories/*http: //news.yahoo.com/s /ap/20081006/ap_on _go_pr_wh/meltdown _bush In other news, it seems we have managed to anger another country. But I wish it wasn't China. We already ticked off Russia. Maybe the Bush administration is in competition with Congress to see who can get the lowest approval rating before leaving office. LOL China cancels military contacts with US in protest http://us.rd.yahoo .com/dailynews/rss /topstories/*http: //news.yahoo.com/s /ap/20081006/ap_on _go_ca_st_pe/us_ch ina_taiwan (20 hrs ago | post #108)
Price settling of $500 billion in credit derivative swaps for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac contracts will be occurring today. http://www.smartbr ief.com/news/sifma global/storyDetail s.jsp?issueid=DE45 E469-786A-4D5F-836 3-3CDB39CA7009 ©id=CF6988 CC-50D6-448B-B0EA- 8D2AC1CD77AA On top of that we need to keep an eye on the repricing in CDS market. Something's gonna give this week. Tomorrow the sky could be falling over Wall street proving the bailout didn't work. It's not just the New York stock exchange, there are reports about trouble in Europe and other countries' stock markets as well. When the new great depression hits it will immediately be felt around the entire world thanks to global capitalism. Like I've mentioned before, we borrow $2 billion everyday to keep our country going. If the Asian market crashes do you really think we will be seeing that $2 billion per day? We are also noticing that exports from other countries are not leaving as scheduled. We import way more than we export. Could we see shortages due to this? Hang on everyone, I think we are about to experience a bumpy ride. (Yesterday | post #106)
What? I use myspace regularly and I'm definitely not sleeping with anyone I've met on there and I definitely don't have any STD. Myspace isn't just for hooking up with people. I've found people from high school that I haven't seen in over ten years on myspace and old co-workers. Not everyone uses myspace for sexual purposes. (Yesterday | post #18)
Should the US be a strong ally to Israel?
Just because God gave them this land to them doesn't make it ok to kill the Palestinians that were living there. There's no reason they can't share the land or at the very least provide another place for them to live. "Thou shalt not kill?" Doesn't the bible also say something about a bunch of bad stuff will happen to Israel? Maybe the crimes against God they are committing will be the reason for this. Like I said, my problem isn't with Israel or it's people, it's with it's government. They need to be removed. (Yesterday | post #5)

PF and History Lesson I think you are both right. What people are taught from a young age to adulthood is not always the real truth. We rely on the media and our schools and our government to supply us with information. When someone tells you something different from what you were taught it is often hard to accept. To accept and believe the real truth is hard because it changes everything and some fear change. To accept the real truth means to admit you are wrong and everyone you trusted was wrong. It is much easier to live in this denial than to change everything you believe in. Because of this some people will never accept real truth. I find the best way to deal with a person like this is to start off with something small. Once they can accept this one little thing then a chain reaction will take place. They will start to question everything instead of accepting what they were told. (Yesterday | post #70)
Go to myspace. You won't get much help finding a Friday night date here on topix. With myspace you can do searches by location, age, and if they are single. That would be my best advise for you. Unless of course you want to go to church. That would be about the only place to meet a decent girl around here in the bible belt. A lot of younger people go to the church by the coffee shop in town. Should the US be a strong ally to Israel?
This is a hard question to answer. If they were attacked by another country without provoking it I would agree to defend them. But to supply them with so many armaments and money is a little much. We pay for their army and all their equipment. Israel gets more aid from us than any other country and it doesn't go to the homeless and starving people. I also don't think we should give any aide to a country that commits genocide. It's not the people or the country that I have the problem with. It is their government that is crooked and causes all the problems. They stir up too much trouble and don't worry about the consequences because they know we will have their backs no matter what. Israel will be the root cause of the next world war. Mark my words. Do a little research about the Israeli occupation of Palestine. Most media will only talk about a Palestinian throwing rocks and attacking Israeli soldiers. What the media doesn't tell you is how the Israeli soldiers won't let Palestinian girls cross check points to go to school. How it's army points guns in their faces of children until they pee themselves. How they bulldoze their homes and make the West Bank and Gaza strip smaller and smaller. They don't tell you about little girls playing in their front yards that are blown up for the fun of it. Nor will most of you ever hear about Americans like Rachel Corrie. She was trying to save a families home by merely standing in front of it, like a protest. The man driving the bulldozer ran her over and killed her. She was white, she was blond, ad she spoke English. There was no confusing her with a Palestinian. I could go on and on about the horrible crimes the Israeli government commits every day. Just because the Jews lost their land many years ago doesn't mean they can violently take the land away from someone else. I find it so odd how they are murdering the Palestinians and kicking them off their land yet a Jew from any country can move to Israel and become a citizen. Jews may have been Gods chosen people but I'm sure God frowns upon the crimes the government of Israel has committed. We give about around $5 billion every year to Israel. That is more than we give all of Africa. I find this amount ridiculous. (Yesterday | post #1)

I love Bush quotes so I thought I would post a few more. "I'm the commander - see, I don't need to explain - I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being president." -George W. Bush, as quoted in Bob Woodward's "Bush at War" "They misunderestimated me" "The trial lawyers are very politically powerful. … But here in Texas we took them on and got some good medical - medical malpractice." -George W. Bush, Waco, Texas, Aug. 13, 2002 "Do you have blacks, too?" -George W. Bush, to Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Nov. 8, 2001 "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." --Washington, D.C., Sept. 13, 2001 "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." --Washington, D.C., March 13, 2002 (Saturday | post #49)
