Our recommendation: Springboro voters should say 'yes' th...

Someone paid for you to go to school, return the favor. ------------------ -------- Don't mind paying for basic education but things are getting out of hand. If parents want the latest and greatest for little Muffy and Buffy, then let THEM pay for it, not the tax payer. Look at this article on how very high-tech Springboro schools are - should taxpayers be flipping the billing for every new thing that comes along? This goes way beyond basic education. http://www.daytond ailynews.com/n/con tent/oh/story/news /local/neighbors/2 008/04/24/ddn04240 8izbaker.html?cxty pe=rss&cxsvc=7 &cxcat=52  (Apr 29, 2008 | post #132)

OK, let's all place bets. What will "they" use this time? Let's see they've already used "For just a cup of coffee a day..." and "For just a can of soda a day..." - What about "For just a third of a gallon of gas a day..."? Or what about "For just half of what your house depreciates in one day..."? Any takers? These pro-levy, pro-tax people are just ridiculous and there is no end in sight for them to attempt to get a levy on the ballot each and every time the polls are open.  (Apr 29, 2008 | post #131)

Beware! They are at it again! Looking to put another levy on the ballot for Aug 5th!!!  (Apr 23, 2008 | post #117)

Springboro residents reviewing city charter

Isn't the charter pretty much going to remain the same? Tax residents to death, continually have a school levy on the ballot and never allow a tax-generating business to enter city limits? See, no change needed - same as 2000.  (Mar 19, 2008 | post #1)

Thanks to everyone for voting this down - great job! Let's do it again in August!! I know they will have it back on the ballot - they would not miss an opportunity...  (Mar 19, 2008 | post #116)

Good for you - have one for me too! Better in your pocket than in theirs in my opinion.  (Mar 5, 2008 | post #93)

Yes, if Springboro needs to cut back now and even weed through a few teachers, raise health care costs, decrease the amount of pay increases, implement pay-for-plan, I say "Good, about time!" Cut backs are happening at employers all over the area, state and country and Sprinboro Schools should be no exception. Secretly doing my "no new levy" happy dance since last night and man am I tired!!  (Mar 5, 2008 | post #89)

You must have never heard the term "being nickel and dimed to death". Every time the polls are open they are asking for $300-$400 or as they put it "a can of soda a day" or "a coffee a day". These increases all add up to very high taxes with no end in sight.  (Mar 4, 2008 | post #75)

No problem! I am definitely in Clearcreek and definitely pay Springboro school tax as part of my property tax. Now if I am the only one, then someone has some explaining to do... :-)  (Mar 3, 2008 | post #65)

OK, run that line of insanity by me again? Exactly how are Clearcreek residents NOT paying into the schools? It sure is on my tax bill and I am township resident. Acutally the schools are about 80% of my tax bill.  (Mar 3, 2008 | post #62)

Again, this sounds like a politician's response - however to end this let's just say I hope you get your wish and YOUR taxes INCREASE, and I get my wish and mine and MANY other's taxes decrease.  (Mar 2, 2008 | post #53)

This sound like it could have been written by Baker himself - like some article in that Springboro rag that gets thrown in my driveway. Thank you for bringing it down for the rest of us i.e. "I will make this very simple". Us commoners do appreciate it!  (Mar 2, 2008 | post #50)
