The Morning Call

A moral imperative to defeat Republicans

To all you political neophytes... George Bush is a big-government, big-spending politician. Thus he is a ``liberal'' in that sense. Catering to the Christian Right has nothing to do with being conservative, and blurring the lines between religion and state is in fact more to the liberal side. Putting off the bill by borrowing is hardly conservative, it is merely deceitful, and most of his supporters would prefer not to think about interest and such things... they just want to hear.. ``We're standing tall!'' Though globally, Bush is a laughingstock and deservedly so. Topping it all off, he presides over a cabinet and administration of incompetents. May I add... STAY THE COURSE!  (Nov 13, 2007 | post #440)

Penn State's bowl picture blurry thanks to Buckeyes' loss

The unfortunate sports politics of the 1970s and early 1980s ended the idea of an Eastern conference, with PSU, Temple and Pitt as its cornerstone. Now we have the Big East, which is an amalgam of schools with few natural rivalries and some not in the East, Boston College snuck over to the ACC and Syracuse will go there as soon as it is asked. GO OWLS! and STAY THE COURSE!  (Nov 12, 2007 | post #17)

The Morning Call

A moral imperative to defeat Republicans

Today, the GOP's finest said they will not support a bid to ease the AMT because the Democrats' plan would balance that tax cut on the middle to upper-middle class with an increase on the ``richer.'' I will not get into defining rich. The Republicans of course prefer to cut taxes without any reduction in spending or increased taxes elsewhere. It is a recipe for disaster, promoted by lunatics. What it does mean right now is that the middle and upper middle class will continue to subsidize hedge-fund managers and the like. Hedge fund managers pay no more than 15 percent on most income. Regardless of what one thinks of tax-shifting, the Democrats plan, it at least compensates for the lost revenue. STAY THE COURSE!  (Nov 12, 2007 | post #374)

'Beyond the realm of possibility'

Bush has failed in the prosection of two wars, in the sealing of borders and protecting ports. Anybody who gives him credit should re-examine their positions and then ponder the federal deficit.. and then... STAY THE COURSE!  (Nov 11, 2007 | post #5)

The Morning Call

A moral imperative to defeat Republicans

Watching Republicans preach the gospel of fiscal restraint after six years of record-setting spending is amusing. Now that they're not in a position to control anything, suddenly they are converts. And that brain-dead 25 percent or so will fall for it.  (Nov 10, 2007 | post #307)

More idiocy from Bushlings. If they are ``known terrorists,'' why aren't they being arrested, if in the U.S., or killed, if not? You should be ashamed to be so stupid.  (Nov 8, 2007 | post #261)

The Morning Call launches $9 million press project

It is a myth that newspaper circulation is declining; in fact, worldwide, it has been growing slowly. Some papers have lost lots many paying subscribers, and the inability of the industry to capitalize early on the Internet is a good case study. The bottom line is... EVERYBODY everywhere complains about their local paper, and zealots on either side will always claim it is biased. STAY THE COURSE!  (Nov 4, 2007 | post #10)

Police do not search for missing adults unless they are suspects in a crime or wandered from an Alzheimers facility, and in the latter case, they do not really search either. They ahve other things to do. Adults have the right to disappear. Too much bad TV has warped many brains. STAY THE COURSE!  (Nov 3, 2007 | post #85)
