That was not a dress. That was a skirt and two bandannas. (May 13, 2008 | post #112)
Why does God allow bad things to happen to "good" people?
Thank you! That is the nicest thing anyone has said to me on here today! :) (May 7, 2008 | post #1202)

Nominate him for the Darwin Award this year! A little harder and he would have qualified. (May 7, 2008 | post #19)

Why does God allow bad things to happen to "good" people?
You know people here-not mentioning any names or nothing-seem to have problems with "fundie" Christians, but aren't fundies of ANY sort just as bad? I mean really, fundie atheists are just as sure they are right as the Christians are, same with the extreme Muslims. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, whether they be right or wrong. And after all, it is no one's soul but your own that you are risking with your beliefs, right? JMO, and it probably didn't make much sense. It sounded better in my head. I guess what I am trying to say is that anyone who is so dogmatic that they can't see another person's point of view should be considered a fundamentalist. (May 7, 2008 | post #1195)

LOL! You are doing it again! Because you are not the first person to claim I had a ruined mind, but I blame it on the brain surgeries. That fourth one was the kicker! loL! (May 7, 2008 | post #1189)

Well, think about it. Even if you don't believe in God, most of the "rules" in the bible are societal rules today. Do not murder, do not commit adultry, things like that. True, the bible also talks about things that go into the realm of truly odd, but as a whole, it is a good guide to living your life, even if you don't accept that it is true. How many people go to bookstores to find books to show them how to live better? The self-help industry is HUGE! The book I chose to live my life by just has the added benefit of being the word of God. (May 6, 2008 | post #1149)
Why does God allow bad things to happen to "good" people?
LOL! You crack me up! No, I don't think that homosexuals are an abomination. I have had several very good friends that were homosexual. Terrorists are an abomination. 9/11 was an abomination. The Holocaust was an abomination. Sure, it is a sin, (according to the bible that us "fundies " live and breathe by) but the bible also says that in God's eyes, all sins are equal. So, following that strange bit of "fundie" logic, that would mean that being gay is no worse then any other sin a person commits, whether it be lying about why they can't come to work, or anything else. What Do YOU see as your biggest Fault
Well, I am way to honest, and I have a bad habit of saying what I think, without thinking about how the other person is going to feel, unless it is people I care about. I tend to let them walk all over me. (May 5, 2008 | post #77)

Oh, I know that your background has a lot to do with your basic beliefs, but there is also a point in time where you have to question what you were taught when you were a kid. I went through that, and still came back to the basics. (May 5, 2008 | post #1142)

I think the oil companies make it worse. I might as well sign my paycheck and hand it over to MFA at the end of the month. (May 5, 2008 | post #180)
Why does God allow bad things to happen to "good" people?
I grew up in a very religious family, my mom said I knew bible verses before I could read, and I learned to read at 4. Important verses too, like "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life." and "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." The best one was this: For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have eternal life. As for knowing about the concepts of religion, I knew very little about the actual workings of the denomination I was brought up in. I was brought up Southern Baptist, but I knew the important things. I knew you had to be saved to go to heaven, and if you were not saved and you died or Jesus came back, which could happen any day, then you would not go to heaven, you would go to Hell. I knew that Jesus died on the cross for me, and came back to life three days later. I knew that Jesus was the son of God. I knew that you had to be baptised after you were saved, but sometimes other religions did it differently. Things like that. (May 5, 2008 | post #1139)
