Judaism as well. They also have the Talmud and books that take them past the OT violence. As Nina said, they don't recruit, or force conversions. They support science and education. The Orthodox or Hassidic Jews would be the exception to that. (16 hrs ago | post #29)
I always wondered why JW's df'd people for smoking. A bad habit, yet they allow drinking and even heavy drinking. But-then here's someone calling others gluttons and one wonders what he/she is doing to help. (18 hrs ago | post #215)

Do soulmates exist?If so, how?

Driver in crash that killed family dies
CORRECTION:: Donna Christ wrote: The big issue is a minor drinking alcohol and driving. IF he had seizures, he was prohibited by law from driving. This clown has had more than his fifteen minutes of fame. Time to wrap this up and move on. If he has seizures and IF he has gone a certain amount of time without seizures he can get his license back. (Yesterday | post #310)

Now there's a big DUH! What makes you think people only do charity once a year? I allow money taken directly out of my paycheck twice a month to help pay for FREE rural mobile clinic that travels to remote areas to help children and others in need of medical care. Do you? We have taken mothers with children into our home for YEARS for FREE and helped them keep their children and raise them as decent humans. What do YOU do? Sit like the Calvinistic moron that you are? Yep-no joy for children. They are poor, let them have coats, they need not play. I also promote ANYTHING that helps kids and you are so short sighted and such a legend in your own mind that you have ZERO concept of the complexity of children. You want them to have coats, and song all year? THEN DO IT! Many already are helping kids, unlike you. Your thumbs should be quite warm now from sitting on them. (Yesterday | post #9)

Then what do we do about car tire rumble. I live in a rural area-car tire rumble is a FAR greater noise than motorcycles and every house in my neighborhood except one has a motorcycle or two. Cars go by all of the time-when previously there was little noise until an inn with a music venue opened up 4 miles away and we can hear the music until 10pm fri sat and sun. Where we once heard wind in the trees, now it's cars mostly. The occasional motorcycle, chain saw cutting firewood, and leaf blowers. All of the last are OCCASIONAL noises compared to the continuous noise of car tires rumbling down the road and their engine noises. Get a grip-just because an occasional noise stands out-mainly because it IS occasional, start dealing with the CONSTANT din of car noise, truck noise and jake brakes. Leaf blowers, motorcycles and chain saws have little impact on the total noise. Try listening to quiet-you won't get it unless you are deep in the woods, provided a plane isn't passing over. Why? CARS! (Yesterday | post #526)

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism)
Homosexuality 'not in your DNA,' LDS leader says
Farm boy--the FASTEST HIV rate in the world is heterosexual Chinese, in China. They have passed by Africa. When HIV came out in the early 1980's,a reason it spread was because condoms were used by heterosexuals to avoid pregnancy more, homosexuals had no need for that. If it weren't for that, the spread would have been much different. IT is a GOOD thing condoms were passed out to kids (in spite of fundamentalist rantings)or the stats would have been equal or tilted the other way. You as a Mormon (of all people)should be aware that marriage is not only about having sex. The obsession of what you THINK is going on makes one wonder just what you problem really is. If it bothers you-don't think about it. If you can't stop thinking about it-then YOU figure out why you can't stop thinking about it. You believe it is a sin. Then by all means, don't DO it. Since the world has people besides the LDS in it (much to your apparent surprise) other people DON'T believe it is a sin, so either they CAN "do it" or not concern themselves with people who do. We won't stop you from marrying with Masonic aprons present and intimate inspections from your church hierarchy and you LDS keep YOUR noses out of other people's religions and lives.
