Ok.......not sure what this has to do with my comment to the other guy, but I get your point too.  (Jun 25, 2009 | post #58)

This was a Miami-Dade Public Works Department employee so no bidding was done for this. However, I do agree with how they choose people for the projects that do have to be contracted out.  (Jun 25, 2009 | post #44)

West Palm Beach infant dies after being left in hot car

I have to agree with this statement whole heartedly! How do you not see your child for 2 hours before asking after them. The baby is 3 months old. 2 hours went by. You aren't curious where your 3 month old baby is? Are you kidding me? I'm so sick of hearing these stories. Wasn't there one last week too? What the hell is wrong with people?!  (Jun 23, 2009 | post #53)

Browns' Donte' Stallworth to plead guilty to DUI manslaug...

Honestly, I thought the same thing when I read this and just never posted it. How far away was he when he started flashing his lights and why didn't he just veer off then? I'm sure he was just flashing lights and complaining that the guy was not in a crosswalk.  (Jun 22, 2009 | post #506)

Boat captain sentenced for smuggling attempt that killed ...

Well, they paid him to get them there and he accidentally hit a sandbar which resulted in the death. I figured if you only get 30 days for driving wasted and running someone down, this sentence is a little stiff. I mean, it was just an accident.  (Jun 22, 2009 | post #6)

Browns' Donte' Stallworth to plead guilty to DUI manslaug...

I have been in the legal field for 10 years myself and I have to say though what you say is true in some cases, I have also seen what money and/or power can do for those with it and for those without it. If someone is speeing (in this case at least 10mph over) whether or not they are drinking and they hit someone (whether or not they are in a crosswalk or not), they are liable. If you don't kill the person, it most likely reckless endangerment. Someone that has a .126 BAL and is speeding in ANY case is found at fault, even if the person got a ticket for Jwalking had they survived.  (Jun 17, 2009 | post #472)

Browns' Donte' Stallworth to plead guilty to DUI manslaug...

The bottom line is that his blood alcohol level was .126 WAY above the legal limit and he was speeding. Had he not been wasted and speeding he could have controlled his car and avoided the pedestrian. My friend had 3 beers and hit a car that pulled out in front of him, those people weren't wearing a seatbelt...still 7 years. You do the math. Sorry, but I'm a huge advocate to having cab money on you and I don't think with his bank account that should be a problem.  (Jun 17, 2009 | post #471)

I have to agree with you. One of my good friends was barely over the limit and killed a person in a car wreck. He did 7 years (that was with good behavior). He also owned up to his mistake. He didn't flee and to this day says that he got off easy compared to what he did to that family. I'm sure if he had a few million in the bank he could've gotten away with 30 days and some community service too.  (Jun 16, 2009 | post #233)

Woody, I apologize for the delay in my response, but I was moving and settling in. I appreciate you responding to me laughing at a joke someone made, however, it had nothing to do with the police at all. I also did not refer to the police in my other post. So, you may want to read back and see where you need to actually place that response to. Thank you and have a lovely day.  (Dec 2, 2008 | post #144)

Fun's over: Coconut Creek closes skate park after run of ...

Well, unforutnately, you are placing the blame at the wrong people, the ones that didn't do it and DID appreciate the park. Closing the skatepark down and making a regular park is not going to deter trouble makers that vandalize and trespass. They are most likely local kids that are getting into mischief at night and will do it whether it's a skatepark or not. It's a shame that the people who went there to utilize the park as it should be, no longer can because of some "bored" kids. This happens all the time. One bad apple....  (Oct 13, 2008 | post #89)

Davie fire burns almost 5 hours, destroys building

I got that point before. I read your opinion on it. I was just offering that the building was not empty. You could see stuff in the windows and stuff when driving by it. There was a discussion on whether it was an empty building or not. That was all. Until I hear more about how the fire started I don't have an opinion either way on what the deal is with it. I do understand that these are desperate times though and understand both sides of the debate.  (Oct 7, 2008 | post #64)
