What in God"s name is this

Andrew Perhaps you needed to be initiated so you can become a real man , Actually responding to some of the issues you have raised , this is actually what form what is termed rural musculinities in Lesotho. Many of us who have not gone through initiation feel no less than men infact you will notice that many of them are unable to continue with thier education so the Initiation school as you call it has become the only attractive social grouping available for many . We have since learned that many of the Principls of the schools have commercialised the school as a result the true element of nurturing boy in to good patriots is missing . They come back after circumcision , many of them get married before legal age, many of them become rapists perhaps this was to test thier manhood following the painful physical trauma they went though . So the element of the transmission of HIV can not only be attributed to the use of one blade but also the kind of behave they disply thinking that because the are now called real me they can do as they wish , Even the level of respect for elders who may have not gone through the initiation school real appauls , which is why many including myself could not attend , I decided to go to College and in that way I feel more of a man than if I had gone to the bush to gain my manhood . I am a mosotho man who grew up in the rural areas of Qacha' s Nek but initiation was just not part of my package . But thanks for the remarkable write up on our old custom , thanks for trikering my inner self .  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #2)

did lec lie to the public ?

Good people . I am posting this discussion today with utter disillusionment following frequent power cuts from yesterday and today in the morning. I have to mention that local newspapers carried an assuring article from LEC that no power shortages are expected this winter. But all we see is the opposite. Did LEC lie to the public ? how do they explain the power cuts that we are expiriencing. I had to leave my office this morning because I could not bear the freezing temperatures in my office, not to mention that I could not make phone calls, check mails or skype my friends and even to read topix for the latest. LEC must account.  (May 28, 2009 | post #1)
