Jesuits in Northwest face more than 500 sex-abuse claims
..."The claims vary in severity and span decades ..." Ever notice how these lawsuits involve abuse from decades ago that people have just now remembered? That's because, if they are true, the church has worked hard to remove the homosexuals from positions of power. Cry, whine and argue definitions. But over 88% of the abuse was by male homosexuals abusing teenage boys. Since the church has kicked out the homosexuals there has not been any new abuse. (Monday Dec 7 | post #1)
Sikh sues Ind. airport bus co. for discrimination
From the article ..."A friend of Singh's who also wears a beard and turban has worked for Air Serv at Dulles Airport near Washington, D.C., according to the lawsuit. ..." So maybe it's not the beard and turban. Maybe it was something about Indirjit Singh. This reminds me that I wanted to be hired to play 1st base for the St. Louis Cardinals. But they discrimated against me by hiring Albert Pujols. I guess I should sue the Cardinals for hiring some foreigner instead of me. (Friday Dec 4 | post #5)

Sign the Petition Opposing Uganda's Death Penalty For Gays Bill
Being in the U.S. I don't think I have the right to try and push my cultural onto another country. We must respect the diversity of different cultures. It's not right for us to say that one way of life is better than another. Furthermore the Episcopalians should not be involved in this. We should take away their tax exempt status for trying to dictate to a sovereign nation what their laws should be. Unless you are Ugandaian, trying to change their laws is nothing but cultural imperialism. (Thursday Dec 3 | post #7)
Best Buy under fire for Muslim holiday greeting - KDVR
I glad I heard about this before I did my major Christmas shopping. Best Buy is free to pander to the Muslims. Just like I'm free to take my business elsewhere. (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #425)
57% of Swiss vote to ban minarets
... Amnesty International said the vote violated freedom of religion and would probably be overturned by the Swiss supreme court or the European Court of Human Rights. ... It must really stink to have a supra-national power such as the EU telling you what you can and can't do in your own country. Next thing you know the EU will be saying you can't have a cruifix in your school. (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #47)

Haynes: Gay marriage conundrum
..."However difficult it may be to bridge the divide, a good-faith attempt to find some common ground would be in everyone's best interest. Losing the social services provided by the Catholic Church would be disastrous for thousands of Washington's poor, including the third of the city's homeless population now served by Catholic Charities. ..." Surely the gays will pick up the slack. Or if the government wants to tell Catholic Charities what and how it should be doing then the government can take over the job. (Friday Nov 27 | post #1)
Virginia, Maryland Govs: Church Gay Marriage Response Wrong
It's funny that the governors want to attempt to tell the church how the church should be running its charities. Then when the church does not want to change how it handles matters, tell the church that they shouldn't quit. So basically the church should provide charity how the government says it should, not quit, and not complain. This reminds me of when my family used to own a roofing company. When we were working on the poor side of town we would do some free work during our lunch break on a couple of the neighboring houses. We received more complaints about the free work than any other jobs. "The shingles don't match right." Or even though we patched some leaks over the living areas, the porch still leaks, etc. (Friday Nov 27 | post #1)
13:17 Bishop sure on Catholic education
I disagree. The Church needs to stay on as the final authority. If a school is going to be called a Catholic school then the local Bishop should have final authority on what and how the school teaches. Otherwise they will become like Catholic universities that are CINO. Catholic in Name Only. (Tuesday Nov 24 | post #1)
Priest at embattled Mo. parish willing to resign
It seems that a most of St. Louis Catholics and a fair number of Bozeks own parishioners would like for him to leave. But this is more than likely just a negotating ploy, as Bozek the clowns contract is up for renewal this November.
