DOMINUS IESUS CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH DECLARATION ON THE UNICITY AND SALVIFIC UNIVERSALITY OF JESUS CHRIST AND THE CHURCH . The Lord Jesus, before ascending into heaven, commanded his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to the whole world and to baptize all nations: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mk 16:15-16); “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the world” (Mt 28:18-20; cf. Lk 24:46-48; Jn 17:18,20,21; Acts 1:8). The Church's universal mission is born from the command of Jesus Christ and is fulfilled in the course of the centuries in the proclamation of the mystery of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the mystery of the incarnation of the Son, as saving event for all humanity. The fundamental contents of the profession of the Christian faith are expressed thus: “I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come”.1 2. In the course of the centuries, the Church has proclaimed and witnessed with fidelity to the Gospel of Jesus. At the close of the second millennium, however, this mission is still far from complete.2 For that reason, Saint Paul's words are now more relevant than ever: “Preaching the Gospel is not a reason for me to boast; it is a necessity laid on me: woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel!” (1 Cor 9:16). This explains the Magisterium's particular attention to giving reasons for and supporting the evangelizing mission of the Church, above all in connection with the religious traditions of the world. http://www.catholi c-defense.com/  (Thursday Dec 3 | post #26347)

PRAYER FOR THE UNITY OF ALL CHRISTENDOM We pray to you, our Lord Jesus Christ, for the healing of Your Body, the Church. And that our Protestant and Orthodox brethren will be re-united with us in the Holy Catholic Church. We hope and pray for the fulfillment of Your own prayer: "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in Us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me. I have given them the glory that you gave Me, that they may be one as We are one." "I would not believe the Gospel unless moved thereto by the Church." - St. Augustine of Hippo This web site was developed mainly for non-Catholic Christians, but is also for Catholics who want to explain their faith to Protestants and non-Christians. Most often, this "defense " is against "Bible" Christians and Fundamentalist Christians. Since the majority of non-Catholic Christians incorrectly believe the Holy Bible is the sole or final authority for Christian beliefs (Sola Scriptura), this web site will explain Catholic beliefs in reference to the Holy Bible. In addition, the doctrine of the Catholic Church is explained by what is NOT stated in the Bible and what is just plain God-given "common sense." In addition, quotes from the "Catechism of the Catholic Church," "The Early Church Fathers" and "The Doctors of the Church" are cited as theologians and past saints can explain it better than myself. This web site will help you learn and prove that there is a Biblical basis in even the most controversial issues that Christ's Church has taken a stand on. I am not a theologian or a priest. I do not even have a Bachelor's Degree in any field. However, I do have an Associate's Degree in History. I have studied Church history and I am a person who strongly believes in the unity of Christianity as a whole and the Holy Catholic Church. Also, I am gravely concerned with the current "immoral " trends of both Protestants and Catholics alike. The Catholic Church holds true to Christ's teachings. Several non-Catholic Christian denominations do not, especially "liberal " ones, when confronted with today's anti-Christian, popular social trends (abortion, homosexuality, pre-marital sex, etc.) Of course, I am a sinner myself and do not want to be deemed as hypocritical by creating a Catholic-Christian web page. However, I'll let the person who has never sinned cast the first stone. http://www.catholi c-defense.com/  (Thursday Dec 3 | post #26345)

Haya, that's right there is not established religion. However, the Catholic Church is neither a religion or a denomination. It is the Church that Jesus founded over 2,000 years ago necessary for Salvation. And likewise, outside of the Catholic Church, there is NO Salvation unless of course you are from the stone age and haven't got a clue as to this important information that your present non Catholic pastor neglected to tell you. It's been that way for over 2,000 years explicitedly in the Early Church Fathers writings who were the eyewitnesses of the 1st Century way before the Bible was ever written. You're welcome atlas. It is a site for sore eyes to see; with all the skaters ice skating around the Plaza and the stores and tree lit up at night. Someday I hope you get to see it when you go there. God bless you too. -Nita  (Thursday Dec 3 | post #26338)

Where you get your garbage of lies and hateful bigottry from a Jack Chick crackerjack box! Maybe you should knock on Seventh Adventists doors about that that spew this kind of hate toward the Church that Jesus himself founded over 2,000 years ago. Read your history books on RC Christianity dating back to the Early Church Fathers my dear. -NitaM  (Thursday Dec 3 | post #11)

Dan, anyone such as yourself protesting the Church that Jesus founded is a PROTESTANT. You're in denial my dear. What are you proclaiming that you are a buffoon? LOL Listen you are the one and not me in spiritual darkness because Jesus proclaimed and not you to Peter, "Thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church (not 48,000+ prod sects)." Jesus also said, "And the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. By denying what Christ said about having one unified Church under St. Peter, you call Jesus a liar. Think about that for awhile before you spew garbage about the Catholic Church and the Catholic Faith that all of Christianity is founded on by Jesus. God has enlightened you today and I will pray for your abominations of seemingly attacking the Holy Spirit that guides the Church in Faith and Morals to stop. Did you know that you are on dangerous ground to do that? The most blasphemous thing you can do is blasphemy the Holy Spirit working in the Catholic Church. Afterall it has been around for over 2,000 years as living proof. Wake up! God help your soul about what I posted to you. -NitaM  (Thursday Dec 3 | post #10)

Marsand, Those are my favorite songs to sing too and I agree with you about that. More reference is needed with less guitar playing in the background at Mass.  (Thursday Dec 3 | post #26329)

What are you talking about? I have no wife; I'm married and if you don't believe that that is your problem and not mine. Kiss is a devout Catholic and it's your imagination to think that she would say that to you or anyone on a Catholic thread like Share...Stop lying about me and her. And as for questions. You haven't asked any instead you mock and attack our Faith like the rest of the Prod. Trolls that come on here to insult our intelligence. Are you any different? Proof it and ask an intelligent question respectfully so we can respond in kind to it. Otherwise you and the other Trolls are being extremely RUDE to Catholics here who love the Lord a billion times more than you. Did you know that we Catholics are throughout the whole world and are unified in Faith and Morals of the Church's teachings like on Abortion and Marriage and Homosexuality. Did you know that there is a Mass said around the world never ceasing 24/7 365 days a year? But I am guessing you have no clue about Catholicism and the Early Church Fathers to care. If you want you questions answered go to the nearest library or bookstore and get "Catholicism for Dummies." It's for people like you that think Catholics are not Christan and worship Mary. LOL That's why you're here isn't to save our souls. Really? I know why your really here to become a Catholic and save your own soul. Or else why would you come on Share for Catholics only thread? At least you're trying to seek the Truth and that will set you free from the bondage of Protestantism that has a strong grip on the mindsets these days to hate Catholics and say all kinds of negative things at us. Shameful that your kind of mindsets continue to wallow in false statements against the Church. That's just so retarded to think of Catholics in such a distainful negative hateful way is what I am conveying to you. Hope this helps your upset mindset: http://www.beginni ngcatholic.com/cat holic-church-origi n.html -Nita  (Thursday Dec 3 | post #26322)

Catholic Church Waging War on Women and Gays

I know this is going to blow your socks off! Tea-party explosion! Movement blasts off 'We're delivering this crowd right to the White House' After marching on Capitol Hill with little positive response from lawmakers, America's tea-party movement is now putting President Obama himself on notice. The movement is regrouping, planning a march on the White House and premiering a new documentary tonight at the Ronald Reagan Center in Washington, D.C. FreedomWorks is partnering with the American Liberty Alliance and several other groups to launch a massive Tax Day tea party at the White House Ellipse on April 15, 2010 Once again the Catholic Church is not responsible for this event. Although I am a Catholic, I will be going to that rally to get my two cents in. It will be an eyeopener for Obama to look out his window and see a sea of TEA PARTY Patriots on the White House lawn as he sips his morning coffee. I would give anything accept my soul of course to see Obama's face on that April 15, 2010 day. Come and join us for the fun of it and for your country that is becoming more Marxist as time marches on. Take back our freedoms and our country is what this event will be about and probably to impeach the bum for his failed policies. Just keeping it real in Truth. God bless. -Nita  (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #117292)
