Did Spinosaurus only eat fist?

I used to think that spinosaurus would have been piscivorous while still mostly eating land animals, but now that the discovery a while back shows just how short it's legs were, it would have been very difficult for spino to catch up to any land animals of the time in a sprint. it was just too big. it probably would find a land meal here and there, but physiologically, it seems pretty well adapted for fishing. long, low slung arms, long claws, crocodilian like snout. also, most people tend to forget that 20 foot long fish patrolled the waters of where spino lived.  (Jun 4, 2012 | post #27)

We must UNITE!!!

notice, how mattking has produced multiple links and viable accounts to support his ideas whilst you only have a miniscule amounts of actual evidence, sure you gave out names of the people, yet still no links about what you were trying to prove. now let's look at the pro's and cons of both animals Grizzly: bigger, much stronger paw swipe, stronger bite lion: quicker ... quickness can only get one so far and when you look at it, it is virtually impossible for a lion to win more than 40% of the time. i will not engage in these name calling, flamewars... I expect more out of you mattking... u shouldn't engage in the name calling. any sane person would see that a bear easily defeats a lion. it takes one paw swipe. i would say that in about 40% of the grizzly's wins, it doesn't even get scratched by the lion.  (May 28, 2012 | post #138)

We must UNITE!!!

why... why is this thread even created in the first place?! you see, with these troll based threads, the "trolls" can see that they're annoying you and that will keep them going. these types of threads are what feeds the "trolls" insatiable appetite for pissed off little kids. really, i've said this 1 hundred times before and i'll say it 1 hundred times again, ignore, ignore, ignore.... now on another note, an average sized, fully grown grizzly is a bit larger than an average sized, fully grown african lion. The bear should win this fight. not only does it have greater bulk, but it's arm swipes are like comparing mike tyson to an anorexic teenage girl... well, maybe i'm overexaggerating a bit, but the bear's arms are longer, heavier, and stronger. if the bear can keep the lion out of range with it's arms than it should easily win... one swipe would like crush a lion's skull. now even in close range, when biting comes into play, a grizzly bear would still win! a grizzly bear's bite force is capped out at about 1200 lbs per square inch, while an adult african lion's bite force is scaled at about 1000 lbs... the bear has pretty much the lion beat in everything except speed/ agility.  (May 24, 2012 | post #75)

Utahraptor vs 4 Deinonychus

it's also a lot harder to jump on, and attack prey if that "prey" is bigger faster, and has the same bloodthirsty, attack first mentality.  (May 24, 2012 | post #16)

Utahraptor vs 4 Deinonychus

the deinonychus really can't put Utahraptor down quickly enough and the chances of them getting a lucky shot on an attacking utahraptor is slim to none., however it would most likely die due to heavy blood loss after the fight.  (May 21, 2012 | post #14)

Giganotosaurus Vs Others

In these types of battles, length doesn't matter to much it's more like the length-bodyweight-height-width ratio... also ekrhixinatus, i don't care how it's spelled, is essentially a juiced up carnotaurus, which means if anything, it would have been relatively bulky for it's size, waaay more than 5 tons, and probably having bulkier, more muscular legs for it's size compared to other theropods of the same length. it probably reached about the same weight as giganotosaurus... maybe slightly less. (are there any fossils of leg bones for big E? if so link plz) With that said, giganotosaurus would still probably win... although it's bite force is realtively pathetic, i think giga may have a higher one than big E... Although it's skull is more robust than other abelisaurids... i don't know of any bite forces for big E... and although having bigger bulkier legs, it has this at the cost of some mobility, posibly making it slower than giga... these battles are usually about who can strike first and since giga was likely faster/more agile, it would probably get in the first decisive bite... however, i could see big E winning in a drawn out fight.  (May 15, 2012 | post #43)
