Was 9/11 a conspiracy??

It really all depends on what is actually meant by a conspiracy. Perish the thought - the bizarre thought - it had anything to do with the White House. It's obscene nonsense and it serves no purpose. But I do believe the Saudi Royal Family had a hand in the the destruction of the Twin Towers - either directly or indirectly. Saudi is a corrupt and evil place and I earnestly believe it's possible the men in the ridiculous flowing gowns paid the terrorists to carry out their ghastly deeds.I have utter contempt for these oil-soaked racketeers who continue to hold the rest of the world to ransom.  (Nov 7, 2008 | post #44381)

Where will the US send troops next?

It should be Pakistan and it should be by invitation. But not invitation-only.There are growing - and high-worrying - signs that Islamabad is turning against us. And if nuclear-armed Pakistan goes down the tubes, God help us. But we really need to do something about Zimbabwe as well.  (Oct 28, 2008 | post #498)

Palin gets last laugh smiles as 'SNL' mocks her anew

Congratulations to Tina Fey for keeping Upper Darby well and truly on the map. Fabulous people, fabulous place - the friendly gateway to Philadelphia.  (Oct 19, 2008 | post #1)

Queen Elizabeth

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth In Hysterics

The Queen's been enchanted by a laughing baby on YouTube. Aren't we all ? Would you like to watch an equally-charming old lady at the end of her long life, tickling the armpits of a world badly in need of some laughter and cheer ? Go to YouTube and type in "Mrs Alice Nyari from Selkirk charms the world". End of plug.Sadly, Mrs Nyari passed away shortly after waving her last goodbye.Remember the link :MRS ALICE NYARI FROM SELKIRK CHARMS THE WORLD (YouTube)  (Oct 17, 2008 | post #1)

Beatles drummer Ringo Starr refuses to sign any more auto...

There will be a time, l predict , when an empty autograph book will fetch more at auction than one filled with the scribbles of nonentities. Oh, just in case anyone thought otherwise, I'm a total fan of Ringo Starr and rate him as the finest drummer of his era, Ginger Baker notwithstanding. Ringo's earned the right to rest his right hand.  (Oct 17, 2008 | post #74)

McCain, Obama continue war of the words in third debate

I promise you, I don't advocate it BUT McCain has only one card left in his rather shaky, geriatric hand - and that is the race card.Listen to the disillusioned chants at the GOP rallies and you might just detect the chilling sentiment: "America isn't ready for a black president." It would be a huge and indigestible gamble, and it cloud a war hero's place in US history. But if the Obama poll lead continues, I for one wouldn't be surprised if the echoes of the early George Wallace weren't to reverberate once more around the nation.  (Oct 17, 2008 | post #453)

Murphy becomes Scottish Secretary

Tom Paine (& others in Ohio and elsewhere) will doubtless be enthralled to know that Scotland is on the move under the adept stewardship of First Minister Alex Salmond. For generations, the Scottish people have been caught in the vice-like grip of Labour miss-rule. That, though, is all going to change as the highly-effective SNP Government here in Edinburgh strives to take the country on the high road to Independence, completely by-passing Gordon Brown and his cronies on the low road to London.  (Oct 4, 2008 | post #2)

oj verdict is in

A bizarre set of circumstances, to be sure. And you can't help wondering if OJ's been framed in some way because of "unfinished business" in Los Angeles. It seems incredible to me that he would get himself mixed up in a case such as this.He surely isn't short of cash. He isn't exactly low-profile and he would surely show up on any radar screen across the nation.Mr Simpson may've left the courthouse in Los Angeles a free man, but there was never any doubt in my conspiratorial mind that he would be hauled off the street as some future point in his roller-coaster career.  (Oct 4, 2008 | post #53)

Sir Ian Blair Ousted As Scotland Yard Chief

This has been a harsh and unjust treatment of a man dedicated to making London streets safe from terrorism. I suggest he enters a lucrative book and TV deal in order to set the record straight and get even with his detractors. Meanwhile, who's at the helm as the terror threat level soars in the metropolis ?  (Oct 3, 2008 | post #1)

Biden vs. Palin: What to watch for during VP debate

Honest(well, most of the time he is) Joe Biden will be treading on eggshells tonight. He mustn't take a battering ram to the sexy soccer mom from way up north and must treat her - on the surface, at any rate - with complete respect. Redneck Americans will largely be singing her praise as they guzzle their Buds and oil their rifles ahead of the battle for The White House. Remember Joe, she's an internationally acclaimed expert on Russia and has strong binoculars to bolster her foreign affairs profile.  (Oct 2, 2008 | post #4)
