WHAT! No Raise in 2010! BAH!

Thank you, your daughters are very bright, definitely raised right. :) _ Have a happy holiday as well. I was not trying to be insensitive to others; I speak before I think sometime. I will try not to do that again. No promise I put my foot in my mouth often. LOL  (Dec 3, 2009 | post #14)

How old are you? Your rude comments are quite funny and shameful at the same time. Oh and just like I said before! I got over it, so should you? HA HA What a joke. You are complaining about me complaining? Yeah that makes sense? HA HA  (Dec 3, 2009 | post #12)

Drink anyone?

I like a glass of red wine with dinner when I am out. If you do ever drink when you are out and don't want to take a cab this is an interesting service. http://www.zingoch arlotte.com/  (Dec 3, 2009 | post #3)

Well, can’t you read? I got over it, why don’t you? If people don’t “complain” nothing will be done. The rich get richer on the money these companies are saving using the economy issues as an excuse to stop the middle mans raises. Oh and you remark about whinning? Give me a break Dad, I am not your little girl.  (Dec 3, 2009 | post #10)

Twisted Southern View of History

This may be off topic but Did you know the first attempt to band slavery was Georgia? In 1735, the trustees of the colony of Georgia passed a law to prohibit slavery, which was then legal in the 12 other colonies. It was meant to eliminate the risk of slave rebellions and make Georgia better able to defend against attacks from the Spanish to the south. It also supported the vision of Georgia's original charter - to turn some of England's poor into hardworking small farmers. The protestant Scottish highlanders who settled what is now Darien GA added a moral anti-slavery argument, which was rare at the time, in their 1739 "Petition of the Inhabitants of New Inverness": It is shocking to human Nature, that any Race of Mankind and their Posterity should be sentence’s to perpetual Slavery; nor in Justice can we think otherwise of it, that they are thrown amongst us to be our Scourge one Day or other for our Sins: And as Freedom must be as dear to them as it is to us, what a Scene of Horror must it bring about! And the longer it is unexecuted; the bloody Scene must be the greater. But there was popular support for slavery and skillful lobbying by the colonists, and in 1750 slavery again became legal in Georgia. I just thought that was interesting.  (Dec 2, 2009 | post #76)

WHAT! No Raise in 2010! BAH!

I don't comparing myself to others that never turns out well I do have compassion for less fortunate but do think I have every right to complain about anything in my own life that affects only me and who I care for. I apologies before I “Complained” but still did it. : ) I had just gotten the news and it was upsetting. I am a single mother (his father my husband passed away) I moved to Charlotte to make more money and was told I would be compensated for my permission and I have not been so I was simply upset at the time. I am not sill complaining about it I got over it after I vented a bit. Thanks  (Dec 2, 2009 | post #6)

WHAT! No Raise in 2010! BAH!

We got an announcement today that our company will not be giving raises in 2010!? This is an outrage! The messily amount they did give us was crap and now this! I bet the CEO and all his buds get something…probably use the money they are not giving up in 2010 to give them a big bonus! Sorry, I don’t usually vent on Topix but I am angry! Is this all over Charlotte, NC? Anyone else getting this crappy news from there companies? There are over 800 people in this building alone and over 3000 employees in North America that work for them and NONE will get a raise. Wow that is a lot of money going somewhere!  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #1)

Off Catawba Avenue, Cornelius: Salvation Army store to mo...

I don’t mean to sound ignorant but maybe on this subject I am. I thought calling persons of darker color Black was offensive to some people? I don’t know I was just taught growing up to be sensitive to history and watch how I say things and that was one I was told not to use.  (Nov 25, 2009 | post #15)

possible move to area

I love Charlotte. I like South Park it is older and developed, very nice, very clean and taken care of by residence and the city. I now live in the Ballantyne area it is young, lots of families and kids, very nice, friendly, and I love it, very clean and taken care of. I heard you should stay away from the West side but I have no personal experience with that so I could be just repeating a rumor. Dilworth is also older and developed…very nice. You are not too far of any Ocean, Mountain, Country, or city. (unless the only idea of a city is NY then you are quite far away)  (Nov 25, 2009 | post #7)

I think papi is Latin American for daddy? Not positive, have never heard anyone say pappy before. I am southern but my father is from Reggio Di Calabria Italy so we call him papa or padre. We did call our mother mamma when we were young by never heard anyone say mammy. That sounds funny. :) I have only been in NC for a short time. I will have to listen for that one.  (Nov 19, 2009 | post #12)

How to get a post deleted!

A blimp without any lifting gas, the empty ship (GZ-20) weighs about 12,840 pounds. Inflated with helium it weighs only 100-200 pounds, depending on the amount of fuel, payload and ballast aboard. I am a going to say since I am so silly I am with Helium which is only 100-200 WOO HOO! Sweet! Oh and lbs means pounds. : )~ Have blessed day.  (Nov 5, 2009 | post #9)
