Christmas Train Back On Track

Glad you spend time in Wal-Mart so your kids can get some socialization. While they are speaking in full sentences, to each other and you... What are they gonna do when they burst out of that little bubble you have created and have to deal with the REAL world??? Everyone is perfect in isolation.  (Dec 26, 2008 | post #96)

Six Tulsa Juveniles Detained Following Shooting

Surprisingly, no matter where you live -- how a parent lives their life will reflect on the children. You teach your kids that it is ok to live outside the law when you drive over the limit, smoke dope in your garage -- or your car -- Don't think I haven't seen you at the stoplights; drink and drive, laugh at do-gooders, call people names --Do you really think your kids don't see/hear/ wanna BE like you? We can all make excuses but until someone starts saying, "I don't care how crappy your entry into this world and your raising up to now has been -- you decide whether to continue it or make your life better. Society does not make your life better/worse, YOU do." But kids do not know that. Give them an excuse to be a snob, brat, thug, burgular, murderer, loser.. they will be. And that is true regardless of race, religion, or national origin.  (Dec 26, 2008 | post #61)

Christmas Train Back On Track

Mr. Scrooge, no one is forcing you to go. Chrches need money too in order to put on fun stuff like this. And others are right, for not much money, lots of good stuff happens. So, Mr. Scrooge, you won't be missed while I am having a blast!  (Nov 29, 2008 | post #14)

Animal Shelter Busy On Normal Off Day

Totally predictable! I am so glad that doggies found good homes. I am also glad tat people chose now instead of actually Christmas day. There is so much going on that it can be overwhelming to the pet. Also for the person who said their pet had a long lasting disease: it was probably kennel cough. That is common and unavoidable when you have so many dogs together. Best bet is to a)make sure your dogs at home are vaccinated against it before bringing the dog home. b) watch the dog if it does a deep chest cough, might pass on it, or if it has a kennel mate that has a deep cough. However if you get it home and it starts to have a frequent cough -- go immediately to the vet. It can take a long time to clear it, but most dogs do survive it. I am not a vet, but have had dog with kennel cough before. Can happen to dogs that aren't in shelters, too. Oh, and for extra bonding experience -- take them through a puppy kindergarten or obedience training. Most trainers give discounts for rescued dogs. I might suggest Tulsa Dog Training Club or K-9 Manners & Moore in Broken Arrow!  (Nov 29, 2008 | post #15)

Oklahomans React To Obama's Victory

I absolutely agree. In my opinion those who vote based on a person's skin color are just as bad as those who vote against based on skin color. Obviously we are not as "changed " nor have we grown as far as we need to grow considering this is the MAIN issue about his election that has been commented on. I was sick to my stomach when I went to work and a woman I highly respect said something about "trying to get this done for a long time." I was appalled. I did vote for Obama because I agree with the promises he has made and I darned well expect him to keep his word!  (Nov 10, 2008 | post #333)

Police: Puppy that ate child was hungry

In my opinion -- procreating makes you an adult! You chose to skip childhood when you chose to have unprotected sex. You no longer have the luxury to lay around drinking soda, watching cartoons and smoking dope. YOU ARE A PARENT. From the moment that baby is here your life is about them, NOT YOU. To charge her as a juvenile is just wrong!  (Nov 10, 2008 | post #14)

Horse dies, girl injured in vehicle crash

Sadly, the horse is dead, the girl's severly hurt -- and what does the family do? Hook up and fight! NICE! Sorry for the loss of the horse, thankful for the survival of the girl. Hope the family will look for peace in this. This is not only the reason NOT to ride near the road, but also for people in cars to be aware of people on horses, kids on bikes, etc... one inattentive moment has the potential to turn out this way.  (Nov 10, 2008 | post #2)
