15-year-old Mesquite girl charged with drunken driving (4:45 p.m.)

Stabbing is among 9 Juarez slayings Monday (4:57 a.m.)
Completely barbarianism. How can anyone with a rational mind just not come to the conclusion that this culture and system of government is completely inept and inferior. Mexico, Latin America in general, but especially Mexico, should be collectively ashamed of themselves. I'll say it again: if you want to sever the two-way funnel of guns and drugs between the two nations, do the following: treat Mexico like the Soviet Union did West Berlin in 1961. Remove all flow of people and commerce between the two nations. Would anyone at a zoo unleash the tigers out of the cage to co-habitate with the zebras? It makes no sense. As a sovereign nation who has an interest in preserving culture, we have a right to defend ourselves against this. How many are tiring of the almost daily newspaper articles chroncling the death of another U.S. citizen over there? (Tuesday | post #4)

Who here is surprised the surname of the perpetrator is not something like "Brunner " or "Mansfield "? (Tuesday | post #8)
15-year-old Mesquite girl charged with drunken driving (4:45 p.m.)
The article mentions the 14 year old was released to the custody of her parents. I am sincerely surprised that there are two biological parents. In fact, I'd hope that was fact checked, because I have a hard time believing in this lower Rio Grande Valley culture, that there are two parents. That's part of the greater problem here. Dona Ana County is almost a parallel world: think of it as a rural version of Harlem. (Monday Dec 21 | post #7)

If found guilty, it is time to flip the switch on this savage. There is absolutely no societal advantage to let this savage breath oxygen that others might be able to breathe. (Thursday Dec 17 | post #4)

Two drive-by shootings reported in Las Cruces Monday (4:19 p.m.)
Lots of reports of savagery to report in the Las Cruces Sun News today. Way too many, in fact, for a town that has a population of about 80k. What it means is that there is a disproportionate amount of low quality individuals here, relative to other places. (Tuesday Dec 15 | post #5)
Juarez students, teachers fight fear to attend classes
That remark was intended for the general state of affairs in that despotic, third world @hithole. I am actually sympathetic, and feel general disgust about how the people in this article must lives in, and the conditions in which they must exist under on a regular basis. I will say, also, that as American citizens, it ultimately is not our cross to bear. We have a foremost responsibility to our own citizens. That is why fortification of our borders is so essential. You mention race, this is not a racial issue. Mexicans are caucasian peoples, as are white americans. However, this is a matter of culture. Because our system of government is so superior, it has been able to fortify the tenants of law and order nationally, and locally. There are those who live in Mexico that lack that basic understanding. And I want nothing to do with that. The only way, unfortunately, to ensure this, is to revoke perspective citizenry for all. Any country that can not provide basic law and order for its citizens is a tyrannical one. And I equate tyranny with savagery. There are just too many bad apples in Mexico, relative to the overall population count. It's a matter of numbers. When you are faced with these numbers, and combine the fact that the government is unable to police its towns and its own self, it equals a substandard culture. And as an American citizen, I want nothing to do with it, until such time when Mexico can redeem itself, and show itself equal and worthy of fostering trade, as is the case in Canada. Another day, another Dona Ana County savage. Sometimes you have to wonder how many of these sub-standard indiviuals comprise this place, on a percentage basis. I'd venture to guess it's at least 15-20% of the population here. In contrast, a more suburbanized, highly densely populated place, such as DuPage County Illinois, you very, very rarely hear about such illicit activity. (Thursday Dec 10 | post #1)

This is the best we can do, as residents of this state? To vote people this bereft of character, to represent us? What a poor reflection upon New Mexico, and our citizenry. Where do these broad's constituencies comprise? And what was the argument over? (Thursday Dec 10 | post #8)
2 alleged hit men accused in 26 killings (5:05 a.m.)
1) Close the border to Mexico permanently. Restrict all travel. 2) Put a 2450 volt fence on the border, between the Pacific Ocean in California, to the Gulf of Mexico to Texas. Do you really want any more savages that you read about, on a daily basis, invading our nation? This is a completely different culture, and one that should be segregated from ours. There is absolutely no advantage the USA can gain by allowing further immigration, or, for that matter, trade and commerce to flow between these two nations. Let Mexico display through actions they are a worthy and cooperative neighbor, rather than an adversarial one, and then reconsider the situation. (Wednesday Dec 9 | post #1)
Las Cruces City Council approves ban on cell phone use while dr...
Can you just use an existing law, such as careless driving, or reckless driving, to enforce when a person seemingly doesn't have his or her vehicle under control? I think the police would have probable cause if the vehicle was weaving or if a stop sign was run. These actions are cause for a ticket, regardless of whether or not the perpetrator was on the phone. I agree with Ron Camunez in this article about redundant and additional laws. I wouldn't be surprised, in this sick country, if there is a law passed in 20 years outlawing masturbating while driving.
