State Pensions

The first thing we hear when state layoffs are projected is they have families, I guess things are different in the Private sector. Most state employees retire at 3/4 of their pay at 55 something unheard of in the private sector as the private sector is run like a business where the state is run by the attitude there is more where that came from. Change the system to to match the private sector, full retirement at 65, early retirement starting at 62 this would cut back on those collecting their big pensions and then returning to another state job which is unheard of in the private sector we can no longer pay for this system, just look at the companies who have left our area alone. Bendix.Chicago Pneumatic,GE,Sperr y Rand just to mention a few. Term limits are also needed for all Elected Officials.  (Feb 1, 2011 | post #1)

Who do you support for Sherrif in New York (Oneida County...

You're right the paperwork and regulations have changed so much in 20 years he would be lost but I feel all the good ole boys and girls in Albany are in the same boat and at 66 it would be just another party job going to free meals and backslapping and being a good ole boy.  (Nov 12, 2010 | post #73)

Dave Townsend

Why doesen't he show a little class for a change and concede the election. Had he not been the right party for this area he never would have been elected originally and certainly would not have been relected, now he knows how it is to loose and at his age should enjoy retirement although I feel he has really been retired for quite a while.  (Nov 12, 2010 | post #1)

Route 12

What ever happened Failure to keep right, try getting on Rt 12 by Tams diner and have people driving merrily along in passing lane and usually talking on cell phone and never return to driving lane. We are told to enter passing lane accelerate and move to driving lane, this is hard to do while people keep using this as a driving lane.  (Aug 19, 2010 | post #1)
