The Curious Case of the Amtrak Inspector General's Retire...

http://www.fiscala index.php?content= amtrk_ig First it was I.G. Walpin who was investigating BO 's supporter on the misused of Americorp funds. Now it is I.G. Weiderhold for investigating Amtrak’s activities. The Inspector General Act, amended last year and CO-SPONSORED by Barack Obama, requires the President to notify Congress in writing within 30 days the reasons for removing an Inspector General from office. Did Obama knowingly break the law on this one or did TOTUS forget to tell him he couldn't do it.  (Aug 6, 2009 | post #1)

5 Questions Every Blue Dog Should Answer At A Town Hall M... /five-questions-bl ue-dog-answer-town -a3650 This month, Congressmen across America will be engaging in “town hall” meetings with their constituents. The most nervous Congressmen are the 52 members of the “Blue Dog” caucus, who will have to answer some tough questions on where they stand on Nancy Pelosi’s plan for the government to control health care, raise our taxes, increase spending, and put America further in debt...  (Aug 5, 2009 | post #1)

DoD Appropriations Act and the Davis Bacon Act

http://workerfreed -research The DoD Appropriations Act 2010 passed the house last week without including the Connie Mack amendment that would have removed the Davis_Bacon Act from H.R.3326. We need to get our spending under control. Contact your Senator and let them know that this outdated Act is hurting our recovery efforts.  (Aug 3, 2009 | post #1)

Obama Makes False Claims during Business Week Interview /index.php?content =073009_dms As usual Obama is making statements that sound good to the media but is totally opposite of what he is doing. His actions will drive every major competitive company out of the country and dry up all the mom & pops so all that will be left are government owned and run entities.  (Aug 1, 2009 | post #1)

Return Of The Tax Shelter President

Unlike Congress They Read What They Are Signing

http://www.workerf -arbitration-right s-a3657 Despite rumors that the "card check" provision may be removed from EFCA, other clauses of this bill will still have a negative impact on the relationship between employers and employees. A few of the changes to the NLRA are neither the employer nor employee will have the right to turn down an arbitrator’s proposed contract. Also, all negotiation will not exceed 120 days of bargaining. Most contract negotiations go beyond 120 days. Maybe because unlike congress both parties read what they are signing!  (Jul 27, 2009 | post #1)

History Repeats Itself With Protectionism /index.php?content =072409protectio “Protectionism Rears Its Ugly Head in Energy and Water Appropriations Bill Despite being warned of how U.S. protectionist legislation could spark a trade war, an amendment offered by Rep. Larry Kissell, (D-NC) was inserted into the Energy and Water Appropriations bill specifying that the General Services Administration can only purchase vehicles manufactured by Ford, General Motors or Chrysler. The bill, including the nasty one-line amendment, passed in the House on a 261-172 vote Wednesday.”  (Jul 27, 2009 | post #1)

WTO 2009 Report Warns Of Protectionism /index.php?content =072309WTOblog "Buy America. Buy Canada. Buy Chile. Buy China. But that's the road to the problem that exacerbated the downturn in the 1930s and led to the Great Depression", said World Bank Chief Zoellick. Mexico has already imposed $2.4 billion in tariffs on US imports in retaliation to an end to allow Mexican trucks on US highways forcing them to unload their goods at the border to US truckers.  (Jul 24, 2009 | post #1)

Big Labor Transparency Problems

http://www.fiscala index.php?content= tr_labor Labor Sec. Solis want to do away with the annual LM-2 report. The LM-2 report allows Union members to see how union dues are being spent. Also at risk for getting the axe is LM-30 report that would allow paychecks into union coffers instead of employee accounts. While Secretary Solis is demolishing workers protection, President Obama is entertaining Union Leader's wants for a second stimulus. (click on links in article)  (Jul 20, 2009 | post #1)
