Orlando Magic frustrated about these playoffs but optimis...

Certainly dont know much about using cap space do you?? There are teams that have been over the cap for years and still get the players they want or need. Orlando's cap space is still very manageable and flexible enough to get things done.  (May 15, 2008 | post #6)

Pistons end Magic's season in Game 5

Go to the pictures of game five and take a look for yourself. A forearm to the face is a foul in any man's league. Any team can be a great defensive team if they are allowed to cream the other player as he drives to the basket. That is not basketball, plain and simple. A blocked shot is when a man gets his hand on the ball and prevents it from going further. Prince not only blocked the shot he delivered a forearm shiver to the head at the same time. Calling people idiots when both film and pictures proves the point, shows how little class you have. Anyone in this forum can go see and judge for themselves.  (May 14, 2008 | post #177)

Thanks for the compliment and I agree. I will now root for Detroit to win it all. I think they can do it now that Boston has shown they fall apart in the playoffs. I cant see Doc outcoaching the Pistons. I never believed Cleveland could take them on but man the Celtics look so disjointed now. And Cleveland is nowhere as good as they were last year.  (May 13, 2008 | post #128)

Pistons end Magic's season in Game 5

It was a great year. Back last December I predicted the Magic were a second round playoff team and I nearly got laughed off the planet. by February most were agreeing with me. Most of you who post such idiotic negative posts simply have no life. The Magic are not that far from being a NBA finalist team. the only real difference between us and the the Pistons was FT shooting. We missed 12 they missed one. The fact that we can have so many turnovers and keep the games close shows how good we really are. Does Hedo have to have stitches to get a foul call? Dang Prince had his forearm right across his face. Gortat has become a nice surprise. Would not be surprised to see Foyle opt out and leave. Battie returning and getting another banger with Cook and Lewis would give us a great front line with Hedo and Lewis sharing SF we would be the best frontline in the league. I have come to like Jameer but we do need another good PG. Sorry guys it is not Carlos either. We have 6-8 guys that may not be back next year so we can pick up some nice additions. Sooner or later a couple of vets will want to join this team and fill in the experience gaps.  (May 13, 2008 | post #126)

Orlando's players believe they can win

Yes we can win, we almost did in game 2 and earlier in the year we creamed you guys on your home court. The second you get over confident you are going to get you head placed on a platter. You better hope you win tonight or your going to see us again in game 7. Then the pressure on you guys will be unbelievable. The Cleveland nightmare will be upon you again.  (May 13, 2008 | post #95)

The major problem with your position is if we did that, we would have to go through the learning process all over again. Most NBA teams wish they could be 3 deep at the PG position. Being a PG is not a matter of sticking a new body out there. It takes years to integrate one into a system. NJ and Dallas did a PG switch and both became poorer teams. It is not something you do quickly. You also fail to see the improvement Jameer, Carlos, and Dooling have made over last year. I have noticed that most of the real negative posts about Jameer come from those who want to see Carlos play more. I use the same argument against him I use against the JJ crowd. If he had earned the playing time, he would be playing. Both Evans and now Gortat are playing because they earned their roles and have taken minutes away from those that havent earned them. Carlos has been with several NBA teams and its the same story, he is a solid backup but thats all he is. If he leaves and goes to another team that is what he will be, a backup and then you can cuss out that coach too. It wont change.  (May 13, 2008 | post #20)

Orlando's players believe they can win

Yes you got it, they lack killer instinct and experience. If game 4 taught them anything, get a lead and then put the screws on. If they do that in game 5 watch out because they do have the talent to win game 6 at home. I have read several blogs, SI, Foxsports, etc. where piston fans are saying they would not want to meet us next year with a year's experience under our belts. They are smart fans, they understand this, where as many on these blogs thinks its personnel or the coach or management. If the Magic get a lead and then show killer instinct and not let up we are coming back for game 6. I do not believe the Pistons can beat us twice on our home court. Once you get to game 7 the Magic will have to learn a whole new world to the playoffs. This is going to be a war tonight. Go MAGIC!!!  (May 13, 2008 | post #6)

Heartache at home: Magic fall to Pistons

Sir I dont know where you got your information but the Magic defense has been very good for this series. The Pistons arent blowing them off the court neither are they playing better than the Magic are. They just are better experienced in playing games like these. We have had two games go into the final minute and they executed and hit their shots and we didn't. This series could very well be the Magic up 3-1 but we have to learn how to close out a game at this level. We are getting there, close but no cigar yet.  (May 11, 2008 | post #170)

If you look at the replay on the last drive you can see McDyss shuffled his feet and was not set. He did come from inside the circle to outside the circle. The truth is the refs are not going to call a blocking foul in that situation. Hedo could have just pulled up and put in a 5 footer and we could have won. Then McDyss would have had to go after him and that would have caused a foul to be called. Either way he did it, he would have been under better control and would have justified a foul being called. It was a nice drive and he beat his man, it just didnt go in. It is sad so many people have so many bad things to say over a 1 point game. The Magic have clearly shown they are a good team but lack the seasoning of a great team. Now we have to win 3 in a row and that is not likely even though Cleveland did it last year. So it is possible. Still would like the Magic to get to game seven. I would like them to pick up that experience. Plus it sure would be great to make the Pistons sweat.  (May 11, 2008 | post #166)

Yes you dont expect an 85%+ FT shooter to go 2-6 but it does happen. I have seen some great FT shooters miss over the years. Too bad for Nelson because he was having a good series.  (May 11, 2008 | post #165)

What kind of stupid comment is this. Hedo is hot, was carrying the team late in the 4th Q, been our go to go all year, of course you give him the ball. HOW IN BLUE BLAZES DO YOU NOT GO WITH HIM?? You are really stupid guy!!!!  (May 10, 2008 | post #109)

I have to agree with you on this one. Evans was having a great game he sat most of the 4th quarter. I think he should have been brought back with 4 or 5 minutes left in the game and allowed to finish. He had the hot hand.  (May 10, 2008 | post #69)

Hey welcome to Orlando. You think this is bad, wait until the rest of the Anti-magic crowd shows up. They will rip the Magic more than your city. I think if you follow this blog for the next two days you wont believe what some of these idiots will say about Orlando.  (May 10, 2008 | post #65)

Heartache at home: Magic fall to Pistons

Just some analysis here. We are inexperienced at this level of basketball. We got cleaned in game 1 but we played better in game 2. 19 TO loses that game, that comes from inexperience. Game 3 we get on track and it continues into game 4. 3rd period we have a comfortable lead and have the game won and we relax. The Pistons sense this and come to life and we dont know how to handle it. Every FT becomes critical and that is where we finally lose the game. All these things have to be experienced before you become a great playoff team. The Magic have proved they have the talent but the experience is not there. This game will teach them that the game is not over until it is over. You cant let up or you will get bit. We still need to win one in Detroit. NEXT.  (May 10, 2008 | post #45)
