Opinion: Kelly Kautz used fear tactics to get votes

"I received a new postcard from Kelly Kautz today. Probably the prettiest piece of advertising she’s produced so far in red, white and blue. On it, Kelly Kautz says she is “Endorsed by the PEOPLE, NOT the Politicians.” (The “politicians” she mentions are a majority of Snellville council members, who typically agree with each other that many of Kautz’s ideas are costly to the city, taxpayers, and a general waste of time IMHO)...." Snellville Police directing traffic in front of church

Maybe you've seen Snellville Police officers directing traffic in front of a large Snellville church. Perhaps you've seen them working at a movie theater. How does all that work? Who's paying for the fuel costs and other vehicle related expenses when an officer works an off-duty job? Snellville Chief of Police answers these questions, and it was very enlightening to me - http://mysnellvill /2011/03/snellvill e-police-off-duty- vehicle.html  (Mar 24, 2011 | post #1)

Reason for Snellville & south Gwinnett thriving growth???

The real estate market isn't great anywhere right now, but from talking to some of my friends who sell real estate, they have had a sudden boom of buyers wanting to take advantage of the good real estate deals that are out there right now. I disagree with 'tidy catz' about the South Gwinnett area becoming "trashy. " Have you driven in Snellville on Main Street/78 or on Scenic Highway lately? We'll be seeing new businesses opening in Snellville soon - upscale shops like buybuy BABY (in the Kroger shopping center in the old Circuit City space) as well as Academy Sports and a brand new Olive Garden opening at the corner of Scenic Highway and Janmar Road. Off of 78, we have a new indoor archery range (Archery Learning Center) that was recently featured on Channel 11's Road Warrior segment, and a new airport shuttle service, Greater Atlanta Shuttle. What you see around you depends on your attitude. If you are determined to see only bad things, that's what you will see. Look for the good things around you and try to figure out how you can be a part of it. If you don't like where you live, there are plenty of volunteer opportunities to work on making it more like what you envision. Gwinnett County has a very good public school system and it's a growth area, so maybe that answers your question. :)  (Mar 8, 2011 | post #4)
