Same-sex couple claims discrimination at doctor's office

Yeah....I guess so. Even Christians sin every day. Christians aren't perfect any more than anyone else. We are all sinners.  (Jun 20, 2008 | post #545)

Same-sex couple claims discrimination at doctor's office

The lack of truly Christian attitudes here is unbelievable. Tell me....when you hear "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" do you pick up a rock or duck and cover? I may believe, as a Christian myself, that homosexuality is wrong, but I also believe that God tells us to love one another. When Jesus was on this earth, he didn't condemn anyone but the hypocrites that persecuted the "sinners " of their time. How can you tell someone that God loves them when you can't manage to treat them with respect yourself?  (Jun 20, 2008 | post #520)

Same-sex couple claims discrimination at doctor's office

This is crazy!!! The point of this is not whether it is ok to be gay/lesbian....it's about whether or not the doctor was right. His job was to care for his patient's health, not to give his opinion about how wrong they are. There is a time and place for discussions like that, but not in a med center where someone is ill and needs care.  (Jun 20, 2008 | post #515)

WZZM13 WATER COOLER - Dutch man suffers cut buttocks in j...

Sounds like my dad...lol. My brother and I always joked that we needed proof that would stand up in court that we needed new coats, shoes, etc. Being Dutch isn't so bad, though. My Grandpa always said "If ya ain't Dutch, ya ain't much!"  (Jun 4, 2008 | post #46)

Michigan spellers get ready to compete in national spelli...

I was a spelling bee-er too. I competed in the State bee in 1987 (?) I think that was the year....it's been so long I can hardly remember..lol. It didn't make me too popular then, but being a good reader definitely makes one a good speller.  (May 29, 2008 | post #6)

Is Granholm doing a good job?

Oh, and BTW, I don't have a computer at home, don't have a cell phone, and shop at goodwill when I need clothes. There are many libraries, etc. where people can use the internet.  (May 23, 2008 | post #57)

Is Granholm doing a good job?

I guess I am one of those people depending on others to pay my way. I was married, had four children that my (ex)husband and I could afford at the time. That is, until he left me with the four kids and no income or child support. I may be relying on food stamps and medicaid right now, but I am in school and will not always need this help. I have worked since I was 14 years old and don't consider myself a drain on anyone - I am not sitting back and collecting welfare - I get no cash assistance at all. I am in school and working, but I wouldn't be able to be in school to better my situation without the help I'm getting. I may be using this assistance now, but it is TEMPORARY!!! When I am finished with school, I will no longer qualify and I look forward to being self-sufficient. I don't see any problem with changing the system so that people can't collect forever, but the assistance that is there is a means for many of us to build a better life and not be a drain on anyone.  (May 23, 2008 | post #56)

Thank you for the welcomes!! You are all a very friendly group of people! 5ducklings - hope the surgery goes well and recovery is quick. My dad is recovering from a bad broken leg and surgery to repair it. It's not easy to see those we love in so much pain, but I pray it will be short-lived and healing comes quickly.  (May 15, 2008 | post #568)

That 70's Show. Join the Family!

It's my first time on this forum, just wanted to tell you there is light at the end of the tunnel. My ex husband left me when my twins were not quite 2 weeks old and our older boys were 4 1/2 and 3 years old. I thought my life was over, but that only lasted a little while. Now he is miserable, and I'm back in school and happier without him. My boys and I don't have much, but we have what we need, and I'm slowly making a better life for us. Just keep your chin up....it'll get better, I promise!!!  (May 15, 2008 | post #564)
